He has dementia! Did they see him face to face? All this secrecy, keep-away and sneakiness is weird. If he's able to go on vacation, then why was he previously in a nursing home?

Anyway, I'm glad he has been "found" and hope the truth prevails for his best interests.

I agree, I find it very difficult to believe that an 82-year-old with Parkinson's Dementia is a willing participant in hiding out from his children whom he used to have a very close bond with. I think Jean is paranoid nuts and controlling him. Let Kerri & her siblings see him now before he dies!!!

If they were unaware he had been "found" then he was still missing! If the ones looking for you don't know where you are, you're not "found."

I doubt this situation will be resolved....it's too bad that vindictiveness is a stronger motivation than harmony. Poor Casey. Win-lose is a dirty game within a family.

Doesn't make sense. Who takes a man who is virtually unable to speak and has Parkinson's Dementia and needs stability on a trip to "visit friends", yet doesn't allow his own children and siblings to see him?????
Hope the judge orders Jean to bring him back to L.A., not hide him, and allow family visits.

What if he wants to be where he is?

Is he going to be taken elsewhere because 'others' want to control him? The deputies didn't think there was a problem. The article didn't say he was taken into custody or removed from where he was located. Now that the kids know where he is maybe they will leave him alone. IMHO

He's been sick so long, I highly doubt he is "cognizant" at all.

Unless the children had been proven to financially or physically abuse or exploit him (and they have not), the healthiest and most beneficial thing for Casey is to see his biological children FREQUENTLY.

I'm always suspicious when someone isolates an ill person like this, it usually means they are trying to hide something. The only reason I'm not afraid he's being abused is because the wife seem to be utilizing professional facilities, which is much better than her keeping him at home.

LE says they spoke with him right? I assumed someone spoke with him and knew it was his voice to determine his whereabouts or did someone physically go and SEE him? If he is virtually unable to talk then there was no phone call to determine where he is . Or a few words and they say 'that's him ' ?

I've been known to do it, particularly when hubby and I set out on a road trip. But I'm also not practically bedridden and unable (or barely able) to talk.

I know he's been 'found' but I'm still very worried for him.

I feel you. To think of my poor daddy when he was dying. He was so sweet. He would've been confused even if he appeared "alert" and "cognizant" and not able to totally express what he wanted. He would've been so lonely and sad without me there. It horrifies me to think of it.

LE who did the welfare check are used to seeing elderly people with bed sores, filthy clothes, lying in their own waste, with improper care. But just because Mr. Kasem is not in such a condition does not mean he's not being abused.

Yeah, there are rotten kids out there who only care about their parents' money. Nothing indicates that's the case here. Instead, it appears to be the opposite.

It can't be that the kids, the brother, the friends, the judge, and Kasem's own court-appointed lawyer are all wrong and Jean is the only one right.
