Well, since GA said this and it didn't come directly from JB, I woudn't believe it for a second. Now if JB comes out and makes a statement that he received money from Casey, that MIGHT be a little more believable. I just don't know how honest defense attorneys have to be with what they tell the public about their client.

I looked at the clerk of the courts website for orange county a couple of months ago. looked at the records concerning the home, looked like maybe a home equity loan in 2005. Life insurance is usually more like 50,000 or 100,000kc must have an account somewhere, else how could she have used the grandparents check routing number to steal money from their mt dora account ? and ga tells le in his last interview that they were having serious money problems

There is nothing to say that the money did not come from someone else who "loaned" the money to Casey. When LP was asked to get involved, it was from a 3rd party who has remained nameless to date...but was stated not to be Geraldo. Could the same person who requested Casey be out of jail be the same person responsible for Baez' tab?

thats what I mean she has a serious amount of cash floating around.... thats why I do not believe she was still using gas cans to put gas in her car, I think she would have found the last full service gas sation in orlando and said fill er up. she was not having cash flow problems. but how did she get hooked up with jb to begin with ? her very first time in front of the judge she is with a woman attorney who has her hair back in a ponytail,probably court appointed, next time in front of judge she was with jb, how ? she was in jail, ca and ga didnt hire him. wish we had more info on that

Well, George did say in his 7/24 interview that he has a "multimillionaire" brother-in-law, and he was going to ask him to help, and then he said "Hopefully he'll do it. He probably won't." But maybe the BIL kicked in at least for the retainer?

About Casey saying she had 15,000 in the bank. It's possible she was saying this to friends as help to cover her stealing from them. After all, why would you suspect a friend of yours who had 15,000 in the bank if money turned up missing?
imo Casey just pulled that amount out of the air, she was impressed with that amount and felt other people would be also. When she worked at Universal I think she was impressed then by an event planner so she wove that into her lies, it was her ultimate job.
As far as liars and planners go, Casey is really quite lame.

I'm guessing that this amount is a number she pulled out of thin air - just the many of lies to do with work, college, the house, Caylee, you name it

She wanted to look better than she was - so telling people she had so much money (tho when someone brags to me about money I turn off immediately) - or that she's going to FSU or telling people that she's getting her parents house, etc. It was all in her mind

Yes, that is what George stated to LE in his July 24 interview when he began to talk about Baez.
IMO, Casey told Baez a lie about having a certain amount of money in the bank to pay him so he'd take her case..not knowing at the time that this case was going to turn into the monster it is today.
I am surprised that she didn't,at the very least, call Lee (since it was evident from her phone call home she was pissed at Cindy) for help in getting a lawyer.

The local media has touched on this subject a few times during newscasts and also George speaks of it in his July 24 interview.
When Casey was first arrested it was reported she asked other inmates for the name of a lawyer. I have also heard she got his card off a wall. But either scenario she got his name after she got arrested and was in the County Jail.
