Has George ever said that that car smelled death? Or was that just Cindy talking?
Sorry, but I am on 48 hours of no sleep and my 6th pot of coffee. I am half tracking right now.
Sources close to the investigation said George Anthony admitted to the FBI that, when he first smelled his daughter's car, he thought it was the odor of a body.

"It was an overpowering smell, I admit that," he said. "It's a possibility that maybe my daughter ran over something."

He said that he now believes the smell came from the combination of a rotting pizza and a cleaning fluid bottle being left in a hot car for 15 days. George Anthony said his daughter told him about a jailhouse letter she wrote.

The tow of us don't agree on a lot, but I defintiely am with you on the issue of Cindy not having many female friends. Holly is listed as being a close family friend that babysat for Caylee, but is she really a friend or is she just a neighbor that the Anthony's recruited. She lives within a few houses of them.
...and appealing enough to put on tv.

ETA: and also hadn't seen/spoken to Casey since December? Huh?

I have this horrible feeling that if all else fails, the Anthony's will resort to the double confession. If Casey breaks and confesses to something, then Cindy will also confess to it. They both give the same story and say that they did it, request a jury trial. THe jury gets confused and with LE unable to prove who actually did it, everybody goes home. I have seen that happen and it is the most frustrating thing ever.
Strangely enough...sounds like something right out of a movie...doesn't it?

Ran over something? These people say more stuff that raises eyebrows every time they open their mouths!

Oh come on, we have agreed on a lot of things today!! :blowkiss:

I am saying on the witness stand at the bond hearing he testified that the video was indeed taken on June 15th instead of on June 9th as Cindy had stated previously and that he had "confronted"...is the word he used...Cindy the night before about the discrepancy of the date pointing out it was Father's Day. He went into asking for the father's name and requesting to see the sign in sheet then Cindy went into a tailspin. He said she told him SHE would deal with it and to leave her father out of it! She also told him that she would no longer cooperate with him if he didn't.

He did not go further into how he determined it was definitely taken on June 15th instead of the 9th...but one could assume they had to have checked the sign in sheet before court to be able to state the corrected date. Yes?
Yes I do remember he asked her along the lineof questioning, could she have been mistaken. She was asked on the stand to explain the confusion, that was getting her on the record. Then the Det had to have been the one to verify and question the employee's but do we no other than her signing in their names that they were physically together on that date? You mentioned the word definitely, man I need to review that tape again. Have searched but am only finding shorter versions now.

Thank you. Clear now.

I agree. Casey seems to know how to push each one's buttons, how to get the topic all turned around or evade a question. She tells each one what they want to hear. It's too bad her parents actually did play these mind games with Casey and are still doing it thinking they are the ones manipulating Casey when it's really the other way around. It's insane.

And as someone else posted earlier, saying that Caylee is close to home is throwing them a bone, when she knows they are desperate to hear anything hopeful, and it returns the power to Casey when she may feel like she's losing power because they are starting to distance themselves from her.

FWIW, I hope I'm wrong and this girl is not that twisted. I hope Caylee is found alive and happy hidden away with someone who is being kind to her.

This is probably just more of Casey's "deep thoughts" IMO.

What about Christine and Amy? There were also lots of girls in those pictures. Im saying that because it is the one other aspect of the case that is really bothering me. Casey doesn't seem like she would be one who would have alot of loyal friends. So it puzzles me why none of her associates aren't talking, surely some of them have come to the same conclusion as some of us. Can't believe none of these young people aren't looking for there 15 mins. No one is really even saying good things about Casey, just her parents.

I watched it live and this is the way I honestly recall it happening. Cindy admitted she took the video of Caylee. The Detective said it was on June 15th. Since this happened on the stand...isn't that "proof" enough for you? I don't understand what you don't get here?

This whole thing plays like a LifeTime movie. I know this will be one heck of a book and movie! Cases like this don't come about every day. Something will break soon on this case. I feel it in my bones..LOL

I think Cindy got to all of them early on...or just maybe they have very smart parents who told them not to get involved.

Even I, in my naivete, am not buying the "ran over something" excuse. That's just weak.

  • #156
If George thought that Casey may have ran over something, does that mean he smelled blood? Unless some animal was caught in the undercarriage of the vehicle, I don't see how the smell would be that overpowering. I'm actually feeling a little nauseated after seeing that, and realizing the lengths these people are going to protect Casey.

If Casey breaks and Cindy is involved and this may be why she also keeps her mouth shut figurin her parents could get her out again. Caylee is close to home, keep the body safe. Odd Casey leaves her purse on the front seat of the abandoned car. Daddy drives away in a veh. reeking of death and Cindy asks about sweat. Set up, betrayal, fraud, murder. Is this a movie were watching?

I believe they realize the gravity of this situation far more than Casey seems to. I also believe that LE told them under no circumstances to discuss it with the media or anyone else.

Okay, why then does Casey said "one more day" and Cindy say "I have given you 31 days already." Why does she threaten to go and get custody of Caylee IF she knew that Caylee was dead?? Supposedly they didn't realize they were being recorded at that time.
Any thoughts??

I think there may have been a serious discussion at one point, prior to all this happening, that Casey needed to settle down, get a decent job, and become a responsible parent.

We know that Casey met Tony at a party on May 24th, and started partying with her new friends, those that hung out at Fusian. She was staying away from home, spending nights at Tony's, and leaving care of Caylee to her parents.

There may have been an argument and Cindy and George said they would seek custody of Caylee if Casey didn't start becoming responsible. Maybe Casey became defensive and said she was taking Caylee and moving out, and she'd show her parents she could take care of her daughter without their help.

The conversation between Cindy and Caylee in the car between the first and second 911 calls, definitely points to an issue of custody.

The lengths they are going to to protect someone.
