She might have planned on burning evidence...

I just can't stomach the idea of her burning little Caylee....

Maybe I am just being dense, if Casey posed as Zenaida, why when police called the cell number on the guest card it was Zenaida Gonzalez, and detective later met with her and took her statement. Are we thinking that Casey had Zenaidas info, apartment complex took no ID, Casey filled out the info card with correct info for Zenaida? If Casey posed as Zenaida why not use a bogus cell number on the guest card?

Good question.

Well there was the Zenaida in Florida whose business was burglarized around that time I believe

I'm thinking along those lines...these gas cans were needed for portability of fuel, NOT to fill up her gas tank so that she could abandon it a day or two later.

This is what I was thinking...and it doesn't sound good. :(

In my opinion no one should be writing letters to Casey, the professionals need to deal with her. The last thing they need is to spend time and resources going through a bunch of letters from strangers.

You would be surprised how many people probably reached out to her already.

I think I am going to send her a letter. At least I will get it out of my system. I was going to go and visit her at one point until they stopped outside visitors.

After some thought on the matter I think I will send her a letter too Patty. It certainly can't hurt anything at this point and I am sure we aren't the only ones.

IIRC they said today that when they (management) tried to follow up on the visit the number wasn't in service any longer. That's been happening a lot lately! So maybe LE tracked Z down a different way (by address?).

I would be writing the letter as ME, a mother not as a member here. WTH!
This is nothing against you Patty G. I hope you know that. I can tell you as a licensed psychologist that nothing you can say would make a difference with this woman. Psychiatrists agree that sociopaths can be managed with drugs to keep them from being not quite so aggressive, but that's it! I urge you to read all you can about sociopaths and then realize that you are looking at this woman as if she is a normal person, she isn't. She doesn't think like you.

Don't do it.:blowkiss:

Oh yes, I should have stated, that I too think that it was probably evidence that she needed to destroy. I cannot stomach the other idea, either.

And personally I think if Casey received letters (even if they were not positive, supportive & praising her) she would still enjoy having her moment in the spotlight, the attention... like she's a star or something.

I would only write her a letter if I could put truth serum in it... and when she touched the paper she'd start telling the TRUTH. Now that would be some good stuff...

Patty, you're a grown woman and are free to do as you choose. However I also strongly caution you against it. As others have said, it is one thing to observe and sleuth via the internet/local searches/etc. but to involve yourself directly with the "person of interest" is not wise, JMO!! You may end up being scrutinized, having reporters on your doorstep asking what your involvement is, and having your life picked apart by sleuthers like US lol. Best of luck whatever you decide - I just wouldn't want to see you get tangled up in Casey's web. :blowkiss:

Why not organize a protest of some kind?

Not dense Busylady - Casey was not posing as Zenaida, at least not according to LE. However, Casey did have to get her hands on this info somehow - so she may have been at the apts that day for some other reason?

Good point on the fingerprinting the apt, but if they were shown the model there would literally be hundreds of fingerprints.

Handwriting analysis cannot be done, according to a WKMG reporter, because the guest card is filled out by the leasing agent doing the interview, not the potential renter.
This per the 6PM WKMG news broadcast 8/6/08.

I don't think that particular apartment is their model though. Usually apartment complexes around here designate a first floor apt. to use as the model (in case old folks want to look and can't make it up those stairs), and they always keep the models freshly painted and furnished. According to the news here, that apartment has been vacant since February. The only people they would have shown it to, would be someone who showed enough interest in the model of same size where they would want to see a vacant one so they could see where it is located in the complex. And as many apts. as I've lived in my lifetime, unless I'm in my 20's, I wouldn't want to hike up those stairs with a load of groceries.

I also don't think that reporter is correct (100%) on who fills out the card either. I've looked at several apts. in my lifetime, some in Orlando, and I distinctly remember filling out the card myself. The only thing the leasing agent wrote on it was my drivers license number. Which brings me to my next point. In Florida, leasing agents typically aren't allowed to show an apartment unless they "hold" your license while they are showing it. So someone needs to go back and question the agent that was working that day again, to see if they picked up on any details off the license that this Zanny or Zanny imposter gave them...

Good question.

Maybe she stole her identity? Completely possible given that she steals and lies.

Has anyone given any thought to the "empty" apartment being used to live in on the down low?

Really, don't do that. There's no need for you to put yourself in the middle of this investigation. It's not about what might make you feel better. I'm not trying to be ugly, but civilians getting in the middle of this case will only distract the professionals from doing their job.

I really can't believe that you considered visiting her.

I think you should stay out of it, but that's just my opinion.
