Hello, everyone. Finally am able to join this wonderful site. I've been reading for a couple of weeks now and am very impressed with the posters here. I don't know if this has been posted, but didn't Casey say that Caylee's Dad was killed on the way to her birthday party? I am aware that Cindy mentioned, yesterday, that the father lived out of state but in regards to Mr. Ortiz, I don't think he was the father of Caylee. He passed away in May of 2007 and Caylee's birthday is August 9th. Unless Casey lied (AGAIN) then Jesus Ortiz could not be the father.

UCF student dies in tragic car crash
SGA senator still in the hospital

Issue date: 5/21/07 Section: News
PrintEmail Article Tools Page 1 of 2 next > The lives of three UCF students were changed forever May 8 when a violent car crash on Alafaya Trail left one student dead and sent two to the hospital.

Jesus Ortiz, a business major, died in the crash.

Ortiz left Boardwalk Apartments driving a 1999 Honda Accord. His girlfriend Sarah Rogers, a Student Government Association senator and president of the Society of Women Engineers, was in the passenger seat.

Seth Merle was heading north on Alafaya Trail in a 2007 Mazda. Ortiz turned right onto Alafaya Trail to go north and pulled in front of Merle's Mazda.

Merle swerved to try and avoid the impact but hit the driver's side.

The violent impact of metal and glass crushed the driver's side of the Accord nearly into the passenger seat and sent both vehicles spinning into the southbound lanes.

When Florida Highway Patrol officers arrived, Ortiz was already dead. His girlfriend, Rogers, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in a coma. She's now listed in stable condition and has made progress toward recovery.

"[Ortiz] was probably one of the best people I ever knew," said friend Stephanie Kostakis in an e-mail. "I never saw him without a smile on his face. He had a kind heart, a good head on his shoulders, and could brighten up anyone's day.

"I went to the viewing. Normally when you go they say the person should look 'at peace,' but he didn't," Kostakis continued in the e-mail. "He looked uncomfortable. It wasn't his time."

Merle was taken to ORMC as well, and has since been released.

FHP Trooper Kim Miller said that charges are pending in the accident. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.

However, neither Rogers nor Ortiz were wearing seatbelts.

Ortiz's viewing and burial were held on May 7 and 8. He was buried at Greenwood Cemetery.

His best friend, Valencia student Robbie Swiebel, described him as someone who "enjoyed everything. [He liked] to eat, [go to] the beach, the finer things in life, but mostly just being with his friends."

There's a video on the left side of this page. I don't know if anyone has seen it but after watching it I just can't go back and look to see if it HAS in fact been posted here. Go look..... I could have lived the rest of my life and not seen that. It's a video of Caylee.

Dear God in heaven...that poor child

I've seen that video several times and it is heartbreaking. The one thing that really stood out for me when I look at this page is the myspace friends on this page. GM has her profile linked to it, but there are also quite a few "cult like" friends that have profiled as friends on this page. Not that I personally have anything against "Wicca", I just thought it was kind of odd, the number of "Wicca" type friends that have posted as friends...

Geez, I feel like I'm lost with lots of reading to do. Haven't logged into WS since last night, and we've gone from #55 to #58+ already. Trying to catch up now.

There is a possibility new charges on additional cases or additional counts can be filed against Casey if those results give investigators more evidence to convict her on new charges

I can think of stolen credit cards, theft (Amy's Check), break and entry (stealing gas and breaking into the shed) etc. George said in the police report that he wanted to press charges against the person that brough into his shed and stole gas.

Then there is the Ortiz family who will have a lot of expenses right now having to hire an Attorney to represent them and get a DNA profile done of their son (this cost money) and then if their son is 0% not the father, there could be a hefty lawsuit for "emotional distress" for what Casey has put the Ortiz family through.

Casey could be charge with impersonating "Zanny" should the visitor card at the apartment complex end up being Casey who filled it out.

Yep. Casey has dug a deep hole for herself and no amount of spin is going to help her crawl out of it

On the mention of Casey possibly impersonating "Zanny" at this apartment, I hope (and I'm sure they've thought of this) that the FBI or OPD has dusted for prints in that vacant apartment as well as done handwriting analysis and fingerprinting of that visitor card (to prove whether or not it was really Casey). My aplogies in advance if this has already been mentioned.

It worked for me Reannan...
The black and white photo does bear a resemblance, similar smile, but that's just my opinion...
Thanks for posting those photos! :)

This link worked
She looks older and seems to have a larger frame to me

FloridaKatz, I wonder if she's been impersonating Zaneida for several years?

He** will freeze over first. I am saving mine for flowers for Caylee's little grave. What a bunch of shysters. They aren't even looking for her! They should be ashamed of taking peoples money like this! IMHO

They've already done the computers etc.. so what else could they be taking?

Casey used computers owned by all the people she knew all should be checked.

And their phones too lots of things to verify in this twisted case.

That's what I thought and then I wondered if Casey is adopted. Could that be her real mother??? Just a thought. Don't shoot me people.:)

websurfer I believe they've already checked the computers and quite possibly the phones, internet sites etc..I would imagine the phone records were among the first things they checked.

Patty G. I agree with your post almost entirely. Casey and her family did not put the Ortiz family through this. The media caught wind of what was being said online and pursued it...wrongfully IMO. That's why we must always be careful with our words here. You just never know who's reading.

Since I wasn't home during the CSI visit to the house today, I was still thinking about the entire case at the doctors, Wal-Mart and on the way home.

As I was driving home, I was trying to figure out how to do a kick-butt type of pressure on Casey. I figure she is not getting or sending mail, but I could send her a letter, as well as all of us, drop her a note and put some pressure on her.

What are your thoughts about sending a letter?

Agreed. Gift cards could also be used to buy grandma a couple of nice new tank tops for her tv appearances...

FloridaKatz, I wonder if she's been impersonating Zaneida for several years?

My take on that is if that is the case, she's got a lot more to hide than just losing or killing her daughter. From what I've seen on the net over the past couple of weeks and looking through all the pictures, I have a feeling that this girl was into something very, very, very sinister (gangs, cults, drugs, 🤬🤬🤬🤬, etc.). And if that's the case I think GM & GP either knew about it or found out which is why they won't say or don't know who the dad is of Caylee, and why they never asked questions of Caley on her comings and goings at all weird hours of the day and night and being gone for days on end.

I have been wondering if Caylee was taken by someone and they still hold her captive. If that is the case and if these folks feel they might be over their head with this, would it be possible for some businesses like Target or Walmart....maybe even hospitals, etc. that could be advertised as a drop off point for Caylee. I mean, if someone is holding her and these folks want out of the situation they are in, rather than harming her.....why not advertise with the media, some place safe where Caylee could be dropped off.

To be truthful, I don't think this is the scenario, but if it is....why not give these folks an out to get this sweet child back.
