I talked to my friend who owns a tow company. They towed the car on June 30th. The letter would have been mailed the next day. So how is it we are talking about July 14th and 15th anyway?! I have heard the term "snail mail", but that is ridiculous!

Early in the case it was reported that the impound yard owners said they had the car "for some time" before they sent out the letter.

If the vehicle was locked, I would think the impound yard would have to go through the Dept. of Motor Vehicles with a plate number to get the name of the registered owner, and that might have taken some time.

That's been one of the questions I've had about the car........was it locked?

From personal experience, we once sold a car to a private party, who obviously didn't register the car, and about a year later got a letter from an impound yard about 500 miles away saying the car was there, and had been there for a month.

That's an interesting thought. Geesh, as sick as this young woman is, she could have. I do believe this precious Angel is in Heaven. :(

Personaly my thoughts, Casey knew exactly what she was doing. Reason I say this, her statement 31 days.

Logically, Casey knew that some day she was going to have to account for Caylee's whereabouts. I think she planned the "babysitter abducted Caylee" story as an explanation. She knew she'd have to tell her parents someday, but didn't count on LE involvement, or if she did, thought LE would buy her story at face value.

It also makes people scrutinize and theorize about every word everyone in this family says, trying to decipher the 'clues'.

Cindy is the one who suggested that her daughter is talking in riddles. She can't then complain when people try to figure out those 'codes', since very few come from Casey herself - they're conveyed by her family members.

This is not a game. This is a child's life, and it disrespects that child for her grandmother to make excuses to explain why her mother won't say where she is and what happened to her. It's a disgrace.
I was knocked off line, for like a while.
We were talking about the date of July 12th and the Anthony's confronting Casey. Thus far this is what I found, the time line is being run below as well?

Also according to the police record. George said he last saw Caylee on Jun 6th wearing the same outfit he mentioned on the most recent interview when it appears he changed his date to June 16th? To make matters worse, very early in this case George also allegedly said Caylee was seen on Jun 12th by a neighbor at a mall and guess what? Yep, exact same outfit minus the back pak. My correction on clothing is a pink top not white and an addition of white rimmed sunglasses. Someone explain, how Caylee could be seen on 3 different dates with the same outfit???? If you recall it was Christine Casey's best friend who said Casey and Caylee came to her house and they went for a walk between 12-14 of June. So the outfit description appears to have started via Christine, or did it? What do you think, any corrections here.

If I recall correctly the car sat at Amscott for a few days prior to tow. Some of us theorized upon dates that it was possibly the weekend of Jun 27th. The vehicle was towed on Jun 30th and George in the most recent interview said Casey had the car on the 24th at their home with the stolen gas cans in the trunk. Now if they would cease changing dates in their interviews, this could be better addressed. :furious:

This is how I remember it as well. What I don't get, is if George saw the gas cans in the car on the 24th, you would think he would have smelled the odor IF Caylee had been deceased before that time and her body placed in the trunk. So, does this mean that the odor came AFTER the situation with the gas cans?

ETA: I mean, we are speaking about the same vehicle, aren't we?

While it is questionable, it wouldn't be unheard of: kids at that age will latch onto things and getting them to give it up without a fight, is near to impossible. Near to that age, I can remember my middle son being attached to his Thomas the Tank Engine cover-alls... I swear I thought I was going to wash the darn thing to shreds, because he wanted to wear them all of the time.

That would be another theory, although if there was a body placed within the trunk between the 24th up to the 27-29th that would be sufficient time for the car to have a lingering odor. Now those dates seem to fit in with the 16-17th of Jun. If a body was being stored/hidden and moved around? My understanding is Cindy washed Casey's slacks prior to calling LE? She testified they retrieved veh on the 15th of July, which can be easily confirmed. It does not take tow agencies long to track veh. owners they may be linked with or possibly they verified via phone call with LE?

While that may have some validity this is now very questionable in my mind. Especially since George changed his dates.

Only difference is we have a missing child and bad smelling car.

OK, so just throwing this out there. If Casey used that gas for anything OTHER than to power the vehicle....she would have had to put Caylee in that trunk (where there would have been an odor I would assume), use the gas and then George finds the cans on the 24th. I just think the clothes, boots, etc would have been in the back of that car along with those gas cans if this was the scenario. Maybe the odor didn't come until it had been sitting in the impound lot after some days....but I find this theory a bit strange....doesn't fit to me.

If not mistaken Cindy said yesterday that they retrieved the car between 3-4 oclock on the 15 July

  • #213
What I don't get is why she took those gas cans. If she was running low, why didn't she just pour the gas into the car and leave the cans at home. This makes me wonder if she ran out of gas somewhere....someone took her to get the gas, and that is why she had the cans IN the car. Now, this could open up all kinds of theories as to what happened to Caylee. Did she leave Caylee IN the car while she went to get gas? The situation with these cans confuse me!!!

Anyone remember WHEN George reported to LE that there was a break in and those cans were gone?

Hopefully LE has asked the GP about what else was in the trunk on the 24th (also how it smelled)......Too bad Greta didn't bring all this up, considering the trunk, the trash in it, the smell, & the dog hits, seem very important in this case.

I thought it odd, that part of the interview (about the trunk) simply ended with ' I opened the trunk & found the gas cans'

He reported it the 24th of June http://ocso.com/LinkClick.aspx?link=MediaRelations%2f07.28.08_burglary.pdf&tabid=547&mid=1935
cans taken between 22nd and 24th...prob'ly 23rd as he had been in the shed earlier Sun the 22nd and they were there, and the police report was on 24th at 10am

Thank you for that information. I've had a hard time keeping up with this case and can't remember when the ex-boyfriend mentioned that he heard Casey speaking to Caylee (something about getting off the table) while on the phone. Does anyone remember that date? Was it around this time frame?

The theft was reported June 24th 10ish in the morning, and now George is saying that Casey was at the house on said day at 2:30ish,and that he wanting to get tire chucks out of (her) car to work on Cindy's car,and that Casey was hesitant to let him in the trunk. And when he did get in the trunk (Viola) the gas cans. And he never called the police back to say that his daughter had taken them.

I believe it was the 24th as well.

That is what I was thinking as well.....makes one wonder if Caylee met her problems on the 23rd or 24th.
