It seems that they still can smell it after many years. Have you read the story about LE going back to Charlie Manson's ranch this year? With cadaver dogs? The Manson crimes go back more than 35 years, if the dogs can still smell something now it means that that particular "smell" lasts a long, long time.

mythbusters had an episode on how long it would take the smell of death to leave a car. This may be a little extreme, but they put a pig in a corvette, and sealed it for months, they couldn't get the smell out after using cleaners, and stripped it down, and sold it for scrap, and i think they could still smell it? it was a long time ago.

absolutely a known side effect!
Also a symptom of SSRI's or anti-depressants. She said she suffered from depression.

My sympathies are with you, WISCer. LOL

I have a couple of questions for you:

Could PTSD cause the kind of reaction we are seeing in Casey if she only witnessed Caylee being killed? Is it possible she believes it is true that she did leave the baby with someone else and fears if she talks they will kill her as some form of psychosis?
good question! Wiscer????

Hi, I'm new here. I've followed several cases on WS. I've wanted to comment on this one several times, but by the time I get caught up, someone has beat me to what I want to say! LOL.

I do find this case to be very perplexing and have spent more time reading about it than I have working. Hopefully some pieces will start to come together soon.

I've enjoyed reading all of the posts. Many of you have proposed some very interesting scenarios. Too bad none of them are looking very good for Caylee :sheesh:

In Cindy's case...as much as she runs her mouth, I would expect it to be dry. She never closes it. LOL

  • #206
Again, sorry if I am missing it . .. do we have facts that Casey was a user . . or are we speculating?

We are speculating. We know she is a drinker and enjoys drinking socially. (What 22 year old doesn't?) That is it. The rest is speculation, brought in part by her partying pictures but mostly by her ridiculously strange behavior.

Agreed. Cindy's behavior is very consistent with that of a person on Xanax.

you think cindy is pumped full of xanax?? no way, imo...

xanax makes you lazy and dreary and just like "whatever happens, happens" -- imo, cindy is pumped full of some kind of "upper" (or xanax has a WEIRD effect on her) -- she talks in circles, she seems a bit too "awake", she always has something to say, she can't shut up. etc. when i was taking the xanax, i just sat and listened, i didn't have the energy to theorize anything, i just watched everything around me w/out much of a care as to what was being said, etc. no way would i have been able to have/give interview after interview. and arguing? shoot, that woulda been WAY too much work... lol.

but that's just my experience w/ it.

Casey had left a message on JP's site saying that she had researched hair and make-up online for an 80's party that JP was having and asked if it made her a "nerd" in a joking manner. (I think it was in Oct. 07)

I think that was Amy that left that comment, not Casey

yep that is why I said could be? It is a side effect of a number of things. My muscle relaxants do it to me BIG time.

Olive, lol...as a nurse laughing.....I think Cindy's behavior is consistent with a person IN NEED of xanax coupled with a few ativan:crazy:

but if she had a prescription and Casey took some. Cindy might need some occ? Nobody knows what anyone needs medically.

I hear you......so is my daughter :(

I'm so sorry Mohabi.
It's very sad to see/watch.
Such a shame. He never got to finish college, get married and have a family or even a profession. And he WAS so smart too! :(

I hope for your daughter the best!:blowkiss:

agree 100%. she seems manic. i think it's something other than xanax.

Now that is one thing I did while I was a licensed psychologist. I counseled people with PTSD. I don't think, based on what we have observed, that is what she is suffering from this quickly. She may have gone into a "disassociative" state of mind. That is more likely at this point then PTSD. IMHO.
Thanks, CuriosityCat! This question has bothered me from day one. I am glad someone finally could answer it!

Could she believe the story she has concocted to the point where she is willing to not tell as if Caylee's life depended on it...even if she really knows she is gone...in a disassociative state? And could SHE be Zanny therefore believing Zanny is real?

Sorry...just saw your question. I've only worked a little with PTSD and that was with the children from Katrina. The children we had were the ones that were actually on the rooftop/in the water waiting for choppers. They reacted by acting out...aggression...physical anger. Kids tend to process things differently than adults. I really can't answer about PTSD for Casey but I can give you my OPINION based only on what I've read and seen on TV. (Usually you conduct an intake interview for this.) She really presents as borderline. The problem is that while she's in jail she can't "spin" the story to her liking. My other opinion is...if Caylee is already dead/killed by someone else's hand....why stay quiet. Scream it from the rooftops. I really think her behavior is all about control.

But I've been wrong b/f...once or twice. :waitasec:

oh, i agree she probably NEEDS some. i was debating whether or not i thought cindy acted like she was already ON xanax. and was just saying that my history w/ xanax made me act the opposite of cindy. very relaxed and calm. not manic and talkative and crazy. lol.

i hope no one comes on here again and gives us heck for speculating. i think it's a very important part of brainstorming on reasons why and how things may have happened.

we have no idea what has been happening nor what has happened. i hope everyone feels comfortable enough to throw an idea out there no matter how insane it sounds and can feel okay with it.

i don't think we are 'accusing' i think we are just picking our brains and coming up with ideas. and i think this is really great. look how many threads we have! i really hope the LE is looking on here for ideas. heck, we are doing alot of work for them lol.

this post is not to anyone at all, it's just my own opinion on posts that have gone on in the past where people got up in arms about the way we talked about cindy.

i'm sure eventually someone from the family or friends will register on here and be offended by something they read. i just hope they realize it's all just talk and as painful as it might be to read something bad about someone you know, it's because we can only go on what we are shown and can observe. and what we've seen so far in this case has NOT been beneficial to any family member or friend really.

again everyone on here is awesome for spending so much time trying to figure this out. i think we really want to find CAYLEE. she's so frigging cute and adorable. if she's passed on at least find her a decent resting place. :(

  • #219
in my opinion if she is getting it or was giving it to Caylee .....she was getting it on the street IMHO

 If she has been giving it to Caylee maybe it was to keep her asleep while they visited and partyed..?
Have the cops checked to see if Caylee's scent was found in that vacant apartment?

She seemed to be on Xanax on Greta's show. I thought at first she was on uppers too. She could be. But her behavior seems more like "manic" behavior to me. If you ever saw the Patty Duke story??? They call it bi-polar these days. We used to call it Manic-Depressive. It causes a person to have highly agitated state where they stay up for days and then evidentually crash into a depression.
