I didn't see this posted - sorry if it's a repeat.
Red Tape Complicates Efforts To Free Casey Anthony

POSTED: 5:00 pm EDT August 19, 2008

Casey's freedom from jail rests with a mysterious bail bondsman from California who does not want to show his face.

Sacramento bail bondsman Tony Padilla, whose bounty hunter uncle Leonard has been handling public and media relations related to Casey, told Channel 9 on Tuesday that completing a transfer bond from California to Florida is turning out more complicated than first expected.

Tampa bondsman Al Estes registered with the Orange County jail, last Friday, to handle bonds of up to $500,000. The paperwork documents a deal between Estes and the Padillas' Houston, Texas-based insurance company. There could be a snag involving Estes' insurance company.

"They need to make sure that the agent here in Florida was not {going to] be held responsible if something happened to the bond," explained Orlando bail bondsman John Vonachen.

Channel 9 also learned that the Padillas are trying to get a judge to add a global positioning system (GPS) ankle monitor to the terms of Casey's bond. This is to protect them even more against financial risk. As it is now, Casey would already have to wear an electronic proximity monitor if she is released.

Local bondsman John Vonachen is disgusted with the way the Padillas are handling the case. "They've taken the focus off of where it should be, and that's on Caylee. They've made a circus out of this," said John.

A bit OT - but I notice that Jesse has changed his myspace pic today.

Used to be (as of last night) him and his dog (puppy? has been mentioned) now it is him and another dude - maybe his bro.?

Really? Does he have a new site cause last time I checked it was down. Can you PM it to me? Guess he's not out detecting for the Anthony's. :detective:

This is the most advertising Pontiac has had in years! Too bad the lasting image is not so good.

Casey is for the white Pontiac Sunfire what OJ was for the white Ford Bronco ...

"White automobiles ... built to last ... made in America ... for the psycho in all of us!"

I wonder if the BH has even changed clothes! Anyone notice he seems to be in the same getup? Black hat, black shirt? LOL. This guy is a riot.

Absolutely, I will give him that

CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are court appointed to represent children in cases where abuse and/neglect have been alleged. Guardian Ad Litems may be appointed with and without allegations of abuse or neglect -

I haven't seen a GAL (Guardian Ad Litem) or a CASA rep appointed for a child victim in a criminal case. The child is not a party to the criminal case. The criminal case is People of the State of Florida vs. Casey Anthony. Now, if this were a civil case, family law case, juvenile case, education case, probate case etc, maybe. But not here.

Holly With Fox at 5 is live in Orlando. She has been waiting all day to see if Casey would be bailed out but it has not happened yet. If bail wasn't posted before four pm, Casey wouldn't be released until tomorrow.

Earlier the story was the paper work had to be in by nine and he did not know that so she wouldn't be getting out today. Now it's bail by four. I'm starting to wonder if they have no intention of bailing her out and will have a very good excuse for not doing so since they have played so much ignorance with info in the case.

Do you get what I'm saying? I thought it suspect that this guy was gonna give up 50,000 out of the goodness of his heart. He doesn't need to pay that now and can save face by saying he didn't know what the other hold was or something else along those lines.

This is exactly what I think is happening. It's easy to offer up money when you know you don't have to use it. Then he won't have to prove his claims about being able to watch Casey and get info out of her. As Padilla says, a win-win situation.

I agree that it's interesting that no friends or family of the Anthonys have
come forward. Maybe they're just an unappealing bunch and nobody cares
for them.

I don't find it surprising that none of Casey's friends are jumping aboard
her defense ship, though. Self-preservation (SELFISHNESS) is prevalent.
This brings to mind my previous challenge of lining of 20 WS members to
scrutinize their past. Who could or would pass the "sniff test?"

When the going gets tough, the friends (with a PAST) are GONE.
imo

no friends will come forward cause they know the mother is in this up to her eyeballs

I have been racking my brain trying to determine just what the attorney said to the BH to convince him to come help. I feel sure that the BH was not following this case as well as most on this form do, so the only thing I have come up with is what I said several days ago, that the attorney is trying to get LE to put up or shut up. What other motive could there be?

Leonard Padilla said he has watched all the news about this case from the start. So I think he probably knows more than some may think. Plus it was Leonard that called Baez, no the other way around. THis is of course according to Padilla.

EXACTLY.. a child who has been neglected... has a right to be free of imminent danger... therefore it would be appropriate for the state to act on her behalf, necessitating opening a family court case..

That is what I learned today from a former colleague, now a pro tem for UFC ... He actually said that a GaL would be appointed if / once the case reaches their jurisdiction ... assuming that there is no proof that the missing child is actually deceased.

Not to mention they want to add a term/condition the judge already nixed, that's always a way out..
