From the above clip.

A friend from NY called Padilla and offered to put him in touch with Casey's attorney.

I thought it was reported that Padilla was contacted by the attorney.

In some ways this case makes me think of the Jon Benet Ramsey case. I know there's no similarity in the circumstances, but I just have the feeling that Caylee will never be found and there will always be a lot of lingering questions about what happened, like in the Jon Benet Ramsey case.
I was thinking this very thing leila. This could be debated from now til eternity if concrete evidence is not revealed.

I'm just so angry about this whole thing, the way everything seems to lead to nowhere.

I keep going around and around in my head about the "kidnapping" or "gave her away" or "sold her" or "had a drug/alcohol blackout and can't remember" scenarios.

And it all leads back to covering Casey's bee-hind. Ok, so she couldn't talk about a kidnapper to protect Caylee? Well now the ship's sailed on that one. LE IS involved, like it or not. The entire world IS aware that Caylee is gone, like it or not. So the "keeping quiet" option is no longer one. That, to me, would be the ideal time to exhale with relief, realize it's out of her hands, and show some emotion. At least some relief that someone was now involved who could maybe find her daughter. At the very least, say, "I promised them I wouldn't identify them, but please HELP HER!"

And if it was an accident or a blackout episode, no one is perfect. Sure, there would have been emotion, even outrage by some people. But then it would have been, "Ok, take your punishment and live with this the rest of your life" and it would've been gone from the public eye. Why not admit it if something like that happened, even if you don't remember? If I had a blackout, woke up and couldn't find my kid, I think I'd be saying, "I f-d up, people! Hate me all you want as long as you want. But right now help me find her!"

I guess this was no more than a vent. And I guess I should wait patiently for the evidence, the trial, the jury decision (if it comes to that). I'm not entitled to any information, I suppose. Not even entitled to be worried for that little girl. But it sure does hurt knowing that she's out there somewhere, and someone knows something but hasn't got the decency to suck it up, swallow their selfish pride, and tell it all. Movie deals, Casey's butt, family image be damned. This should only be about one thing. A three-year-old girl.

I wrote on that last thread that the one thing that would explain Casey's action is IF, and it's a BIG IF, she let someone she knew take Caylee for awhile in a sick attempt to worry Cindy.
NOW..if that IS the case. All the events happening now may be a way to escape the wrath of the public who has been worried sick about this child.
Spokesperson,
Bounty Hunter who may just "happen" to find Caylee.

It's not a concrete theory, but it is a possibility.

I just can't get around two things, the forensics and Cindy saying "It smells like there was a da** dead body in the car."

That's how I feel too. If it wasn't for the cadaver dog hits on the grandparent's backyard and the trunk of the car, Cindy's description of a foul odor like a dead body, and George's statement that the car smelled so bad he had to drive with the windows down and he had nausea.............I could think of a kidnapping or Casey trying to deliberately punish her parents by placing Caylee with someone.

But...........it's the forensics that make me believe Caylee is deceased. LE obviously thinks she's dead too........no Amber Alert and no searches.

I was thinking this very thing leila. This could be debated from now til eternity if concrete evidence is not revealed.

Well I do see a similarity, the initial responders treated it as a kidnapping instead of a possible crime scene, thus the car evidence.

You are right Gizzy, that is how it was reported. Looks like we've got ANOTHER liar to deal with *sigh*
Did you hear his ridiculous theory that the babysitter is holding her because she hasn't been paid? Conveniently overlooking the fact that phone records show no contact between Casey and "babysitter". Plus, with a $225,000 reward, I would think "babysitter" would consider that ample payment and return her!

This is a BS interview and in no way will this person be working with LE

He says that specifically in another interview, working with LE he would have to mirandaize her every morning when she woke up. See there's his problem, she's up all night and sleeps all day it will be just fine.
Agreed, but she's not getting out so this will have to be it for Hoss.

With all the "Neptune" involved in the charts, an unsolved mystery is very possible.

Neptune involves all the lying, misdirection, water searches, etc. It also suggests drugs, poisoning, and alcohol.

I am trying to be hopeful, but as each day passes, I get more discouraged that we will ever find little Caylee.

LOL, I swear, it's like they have some sort of "Foot in mouth Silo" filled with people they keep choosing from.

HM, I am not prepared to admit this to myself yet, but I will to you- I do not think Baby Caylee is going to be found. I think we will know what happened to her, but not be able to bury her, which sickens me.

Yep, except I don't think they get to choose, I think they just have to take what they can get. And so we have this ridiculous cast of characters

Like the LE officer said....

"What was Casey doing 31 days BEFORE Caylee's disappearance"

Past actions predict present actions.

That was no vent. That was a great point. Even if we give Casey the benefit of the doubt on why she kept quiet for the first month of Caylee's disappearance because to go public would further jeopardize the child's safety, well what's the point in keeping quiet today? This case is receiving national coverage and is on network news every hour. Everyone knows about this case. Whatever circumstances might have existed last month for Casey to keep quiet are no longer here.

It's also absurd for the family to exhort the public to look for Caylee. "Get off your asses and look for my granddaughter!" yelled Cindy. Because, according to the Anthony family logic, State LE and all of their resources, and the FBI, and the SWAT teams, and those elite units comprised of highly intelligent Federal agents who are in top physical shape like a football linebacker ... well none of those agents and their technology and surveillance equipment are capable of finding Caylee, according to the Anthonys. But the public should look for Caylee because the public can do what the government's trained agents can't do, and the public should also be able to find Caylee without privy to any of the clues daughter Casey is supposedly keeping to herself. Because the kidnappers will harm Caylee if LE comes looking for her, but won't mind at all if the public tries to find Caylee. According to the Anthonys.

Welcome to the Theater of the Absurd.

And don't forget, George knows who has her and is watching them, and then when he gets done watching them, he drives the mobile billboard while Cindy "goes door-to-door".

There you go. That is why Cindy washing the pants should not be considered an attempt to coverup evidence. If the car wasn't evidence at the time, then the pants weren't either.

ETA: But I have to say if there was astrong decomp smell coming from the basement and patsy reported it on her 911 call, would the investigation have been any differnt?

Well said. As kooky as he seems, why not let him try!

While watching Mr. Padilla being interviewed, I thought of one of my grandfather's sayings. That would be "Crazy like a fox."

Here's hoping he's got a clever agenda for getting to the truth.

But Cindy didn't tell them about the pants being in the car until much later. The pants which, by George's description, are the one LE thinks Casey was wearing the last time anyone saw her with Caylee.

I never thought Cindy washing the pants was an attempt to cover up evidence, personally. I think that's all about GPA.. Him, definately, atf, imo. Casey was nowhere near that house returning gas cans on 6/24 than I was. I think they are more trying to exact damage control than actually hindering, but with hindering being the net of their efforts.

But if MY car smelled like a dead body, I would consider that evidence, even if the police didn't investigate it right away. Cindy has expressed doubt in the ability of LE many times in this case. But on THIS particular issue she decided that if it wasn't important to them, it must not be important?

Arrrgggh! Exactly!! I need a drink. Now where did I put that blue dress?
