they can't mortgage their home because at this point their finances are to bad and they are behind on their payments, have filed for bankrupcy before, problems with credit card companies, etc!

Are they behind on their mortgage payments and have filed for bankruptcy in the past? Where did you get this information from? I knew about George's credit card problems, but not the other!

Ewww. But anyway, it could prove that it's hers but what would that even prove? Someone could have stolen a bag from the abandoned car and then threw it in the woods when they realized that it was just full of dirty underwear.

This may be wildly unpopular, but I have my concerns about a few items that were found and how they got there.. Not accusing our crackerjack Joe and the searchers at all, I just know that area had been searched.
The gas can did it for me..

Even if they could mortgage the house - there is no way they could come up with $500K in collateral PLUS $50K in cash. When you are bonding someone out - you have to have some type of collateral of the full amount plus be able to come up with the 10% in cash.
