I find this comment really odd too and wonder if they ever asked Amy what it meant. IMOO
I doubt Amy would know what it meant. Is it possible that Casey was planning on going to California the next day tho? She kept asking for another day while her mom was on the phone with 911.

Thanks for the links Patti.

Themis, I will add it somewhere, I will come back and let you know where. LOL!

Did I miss something from the shovel person? I thought Cindy was the only one who mentioned it was due to the bamboo?

In the interview with the neighbor she borrowed it from, he said that Casey herself told him that was what she was going to use it for.

I thought the final 911 call starts at 9:41 or 9:44pm, wouldn't that fit with George coming home?

George's handwritten statement says he arrived home at 9:50 and found Cindy in the garage crying.

You know, I gotta say, I'm surprised by how I feel after reading all those docs.
I was SO anti-Casey before, but NOW...I think she really is sick, somethings just not right with her. And it seems to have been that way for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way, excusing her actions or removing responsibility for them. But, wow, that Woman needed help. It must have been so lonely living such a life, with no one REALLY knowing who she was, nowhere to turn for support. I can't imagine.

I, actually, feel more anger to her Parents, for allowing it to come to this, and enabling the continuation of her lies.

This is a very sad case.

And unbelievably still are.

Where I live (not the USA) those sorts of cases can take some time, would probably be handed over to different police to investigate, and would require getting copies of the cheques and statements from the banks etc. It may just be on the backburner for now. IMOO

That one is a slow process. I had something similar happen and after I signed the affadavit about the money, they bring in the federal investigators. That investigation takes some time. It took them about 6 or 7 months before they arrested the person who cashed mine. It was not that they didn't know who it was, they identified her off the bank video and prior arrest pictures, but it just takes time.

Can someone please clarify for me why did she need to pull up bamboo shoots when Caylee was missing?

If the neighbor thinks its the 16th or the 23rd

16th senario:

George sees them leave for the day on the 16th, but later that day she comes over to pull up bamboo shoots ?? (while Caylee is with the "nanny") ??

or

23rd senario:

Casey and Caylee have been out of the house for a week now and Casey has a compelling need to stop by and pull up bamboo shoots???

Please someone figure this out for me and I apologize if its been discussed (the general thread is hard to keep up with sometimes)

I have no answer, but YOU raise some good questions!

I haven't been able to get any confirmation on when George went on his "search" of the backyard. All we know is that it supposedly happened before LE was there.

Police called on 15th, police search backyard based on shovel revelation on 18th. Gps search yard on 16th or 17th, which I don't find that odd. The car smelled like a body, their granddaughter is gone.... I would have looked around the house and yard too.

The neighbor also said that Casey needed the shovel cause she wanted to dig up a bamboo she was tripping over.

I am certain that this was yet another Casey lie. I just don't picture Casey going to borrow a shovel in order to dig up bamboo!

TIMELINE

9:50 p.m. George arrives home. Cindy is in the garage crying.
Cindy says Caylee missing for a month and Zanny took her.
George asks when LE called."

I always assumed that Cindy is heard talking to George on the 911 call when he arrives home when she says (paraphrased) "Caylee is missing. Zanny took her!" It seems on the (3rd) 911 call that Cindy is talking to someone who obviously has just entered the room (garage).

Yes. I agree. She is sick. But, probably not sick enough for an insanity defense. It is tragic for the parents too. Their family is shattered. Their lives are shattered. Their careers are shattered. Their retirement is gone. Their reputations are beyond repair. Their granddaughter is ..... .It is a tragedy. However, Casey still has to settle up her criminal debt to society.

LE walked in at the end of that call.

I'm wondering if the "life is on hold" comment is totally unrelated. If she was at Tony's at the time (assuming she was), maybe she was planning on building a love-fort that night and not coming out until the next day. She may have just been saying that she wasn't going to be online/reachable by phone.

See my earlier post. Casey wanted to give the baby up for adoption and Cindy forced her to keep it.

She needed a shovel to get in the locked shed, being a liar and up to no good she felt the need to over explain herself to the owner of said shovel.

Actually I think mom Cindy gave the explaination to Greta, so I'm stumped as to why she (Cindy) would say that. Was Casey herself ever questioned on the shovel need ?
