Caylee Anthony General Discussion Thread #73

I thought that she was referring to the trip to Universal with LE. She didn't seem to know (or tell Lee) when she lost the phone at that time. Do we know for certain that he had another phone?

We dont know anything for certain with Casey Anthony. When she opens her mouth lies fall out. Thats the only thing that we do know for sure.

I don't believe that she was talking about her trip with LE because lee would have never asked "for work or for fun"

She was maintaining her story about conducting her own investigation for that 31 days......went to universal looking for Caylee and "Zanny" That is what I always got from that comment.

I don't think there is any dna in the trunk. If there was, they would have arrrested her by now. And now they have the drowning theory. That spot in the trunk might have been pizza grease for all we know or trash stains. I wish they would come out with it but I know those tests don't take 3 weeks and more.

Casey has been arrested, for other crimes. She's in jail and not getting out. There is no rush to hastily charge her for more crimes at the moment. It's better to have all it i's dotted and t's crossed than to rush into a murder charge. Which BTW, a good DA would not allow. And I would bet that if there is a possibility that this is a death penalty case, it will go before a grand jury before and indictment is handed down. That's standard operating procedure these days. A grand jury can take 6 months or longer. There are cases that I know of where the grand jury has been seated for years.

DNA tests are not a quick thing. I seriously don't understand where people get that idea. You have prelim results, then more testing on those results, than more testing on those. Mark F's comment the other day about testing in this case was very enlightening. IIRC, He said if the prelims in this case came back with nothing, then the state wouldn't bother doing the more in-depth expensive tests that is now being conducted.

Unless she had a second sim card for that second phone she ''lost''. And she was using that phone the days Caylee went missing. Hopefully that is not the case, Cayse loved talking on the phone and sending messages it seems so it won't be difficult to find her movements if that was the phone she was using. I really believe tracking her movements through cell towers is the only thing they have right not to reconstruct an accurate timeline of Cayse's movements since she is not talking and since she gave so many false information. Even though her friends will offer interesting inside view to her personality and all that, I don't think they will be helpful in terms of finding where Casey might have went those days cause Cayse was lying to them as well.

Casey wants to make the best possible deal.

Because Casey is unwilling to cooperate, perhaps the prosecutor would consider a bail reduction.

There is case history where the defendant has been released to the custody of a third party. In some cases the defendant’s attorney is designated as the conditional custodian.

In this case, my choice for custodian would be Drew Peterson.
:eek::eek: :)

Just curious. Is Casey in a cell by herself in a secured area or is she in the general population? And what does she do all day? Are they putting her to work or is she just alone with the "lies" playing in her head? Anyone know?

Tracking ZFG's & ZG's from FL up the coast to N.Y. ??

gotta find this nanny somewhere.....LOL

Maybe she picked a ZG, maybe the same one who went to sawgrass, and that is actually closer to where Caylee is. She could have had the address at that point. Would love to know if she went to a map site to see how to get there.

OK....hopefully someone could answer this. If there was another phone and there were calls made to Casey's parents or friends FROM THAT PHONE that could be lost, anyone think it possible for calls made TO someone could be checked. I'm wondering if Casey called her parents from that phone and if a trace could be done that way.:bang:

All calls can be checked or traced to a cell tower pinpointing location. Even if Casey had a second simm (which I doubt but anything is possible) They will be able to find out what name that simm is under, what phone # etc. and go from there. They would still be able to piece it together regardless.

Also, she did tell lee that she lost the blackjack when it "slipped out of her pocket or bag maybe at universal" Lee really didn't seem to be buying it in the phone call. He goes as far as to doubt her and ask her "how she could lose the phone and not her simm" and she keeps talking in circles to confuse everyone which is her MO......

He knows it, he said it to her in a different phone call "im not going to go around and around with you"

I don't think she is in gen pop yet. Not this early in the game.

I thought they already had DNA back.

According to a spokesperson from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, investigators have found Caylee Anthony's DNA; however they will not confirm if it was discovered in the trunk of the car that was used by the missing toddler's mom, Casey Anthony.

"When it is appropriate, we will do what is necessary to further this case. We will not discuss results individually regarding any item that is returned to us," Orange County Sheriff's Office Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

Despite this breaking news, Nieves does not believe Caylee will be found without assistance from her mother.

"What we need to do is receive information from Casey that is nothing but the truth," Nieves said.

Yesterday, WFTV.com reported that prosecutors had offered Casey Anthony immunity, in exchange for information about her daughter; however State Attorney's Office spokesman Randy Means has since said that no such deal is in the works.

"We are not entertaining immunity for anyone involved with this case," Means told WESH.com.

Baez also said that the only DNA evidence that investigators have recovered was taken from the car that Casey Anthony was driving.

Investigators spent several house questioning George and Cindy Anthony yesterday, but it remains unclear if they provided any new information.

LE got the records from the one phone .............But did the second phone have the same number ???

You know what else, in a brief reprieve from my blondeness, I just realized- why would Casey have to call her parents and "others" repeatedly on 6/16, etc.. from her cell phone- if they were there as they said, why would she not call from the house??
Cause... she was locked out, imo,

We don't know she *had* to use the cell -- it's not uncommon for younger people to use their cells exclusively, or to reach for them over landlines when they have a choice, and it's usually more convenient b/c many people who fall into that category really don't memorize the numbers of the people that they call.

The flurry of phone calls could have been because of poor cell reception in the house. In one of the calls that's been released, Lee says something apologetic about quality of the call, and talks about the poor reception. Casey finishes his sentence, and I think she kind of laughs.

Normally, I get five bars in our apartment but every once in a while, it drops down to one. When this happens, my calls 'go out' but don't 'go through'. I mean... while this has happened, I've called my husband's cell (same provider, different phones, and his reception never drops as badly) to find it so I can use it over mine. While I'll hear ringing in my earpiece, and my call timer will kick in, his phone won't ring or register the fact that I've just sent it a call. They will show on our bill though :waitasec:

Thanks, Shannon!

agreed. They are going to nail her with those cell phone pings. Cell phones are walking GPS.

I believe that she had only one simm card which led Lee to ask the question

"im trying to understand how you lost your blackjack and still have the simm" something to that effect. In other words, if she lost the phone the simm would have been in it.

She didn't have an answer of course.
She was just talking in circles.

You are correct in what your answering. And I have been wondering from the beginning if she has a second sim card. While she tells the police she had another phone she lost (perhaps because people saw her using that phone?), she told the police she was changing her sim card between the lost phone and the other she has. Strange story to be telling the police, she volunteered this information about the lost phone on the first day they were trying to find the ghost nanny.

Lee also finds this strange and asks her what you said above...if you lost that phone how do you have the sim card? Plus it is more common for people to have 2 sim cards/2 phone numbers but one cell phone. If she was using two different sim cards it will be very difficult to track her movements down or whom she called with that phone.

The prelim's are dang good, but its more testing against possible matches of the additional evidence recovered thus bldg a lock solid case.. Defense is wriging their hands see the sweat. Evidence gathering and testing all very time consuming. You are so right.

I just don't think she ever had the blackjack. I'm sure LE has been able to determine whether she purchased one or not. She said she only had it for a week and a half.

Did anyone notice this weirdness?

Heeeere's Robbie.

Easy one, carrier has record of phones on acct.

Is there a web site in Orlando where apt searches can look for info on apts in the area?

There are sites in my area on which people blog and ask questions about housing and etc.. Very often out of towners pose questions and the locals tell them about rentals and locations to look for in our town.

I am just thinking that if Casey who was looking at housing got on a site like that, ZG might have mentioned on that site where she had been looking? OK. Not likely, but Casey had a lot of time on internet and might have run across something about ZG and her search for apartments.
