I have always thought the next stumbling block had none of that happened was today Aug. 9th.

True but I don't think Cindy would have waited much longer...she already had a hinky feeling something was wrong. If not the car, Cindy would have gone to an extreme to see Caylee at some point. Or Lee etc.
