I knew there were similarities between the two cases, but after reading these posts, I am floored by all of them.
I feel sure that Misty, and probably Ron, were keeping up with the Caylee case. When Caylee was discovered in the woods, so close to the home, I wonder if (whoever disposed of Haleigh) took measures to make sure, she wouldn't be found anywhere near the house.

A month later, RC & MC take a 3.5 hour one way ride to of all places...Pinellas Park.
The ONLY connection I know of to Pinellas Park is Chad Reynolds father.....
Seems to me, RC was "wasting time" with the tattoos. JMO....

IMO...It seems to me, that Casey was blaming her stealing of checks & odd behavior on a newly acquired drug habit...to her mother.
Same with Misty...This Crescent City drug house, the 'binge' was RC's fault, the "Mexican's", drugs/money owed during the 3 days...
Someone, very well could have come to get their "pay" and Haleigh was all that was of worth.....
How RC laughed and said "Yeah, and they didn't take my son."

The logic here is baffling.
Caylee Marie/FL............................. Haleigh Marie/FL
"Disappeared while with babysitter".............Disappeared while with babysitter
How is this a comparison? Casey was lying. We are pretty sure that Casey disappeared when she was with her mother. By this logic, Crystal should be the comparison point.
Family supports Casey..............................Family supports Misty
Well, duh. Most parents "support" their kids. I know of a family who raged in the paper about their son who was killed in the act of dragging a Pittsburgh police officer nearly to death. Parents who raise kids with substance abuse problems and personality disorders are often the root of the problem. You could fill in the names of half the country here.
Sex, drugs and alcohol vacation.................Sex, drugs and alcohol weekend
One indicates the motive for the crime and a terrible lack of remorse. The other is just evidence that Misty is a drug abuser.
Winnie the Pooh blanket...........................Favorite blanket

Dora the Explorer....................................Hanna Montana (Dora in closet)
These three would apply to nearly every child in America, if not the world.
Gatorade bottle with syringe.....................Stolen Gatorade bottle with coins
In the first case, evidence of a murder. In the other--what? And who stole the Gatorade bottle? To whom did it belong? Who and what is being compared here?

One is a trumped up lie to cover up a murder that has only ever had one suspect. Most families of missing kids who are really "missing" (and not just stuffed in a trash bag and hidden a few blocks away) have ideas about who took the child and why. Many of these ideas are no doubt guesses without any evidence to support them.

By whom? The whole country knew that Casey was involved because her whole life was a giant fabrication, there was decomp smell in her car trunk per her own parents, and no one fails to report a child abduction for 30 days. LE never had another suspect in that case. In Haleigh's case, LE has stated, publicly, that the bio parents are not the focus of the investigation. I still haven't seen a shred of evidence that RC wasn't at work. Nor has TN or GGS been named a person of interest.

Now we're back to comparing Caylee and Misty. But as a teacher, I can go with the idea that dropping out leads to nothing good.

I am not so sure that Caylee was "about to be taken away," but the rest of this, again, clearly points to motive for murder on Casey's part. On the other side, who was jealous of Haleigh? Who wanted revenge against Ron? And Ron had just gotten custody, so it was not likely that Haleigh would have been taken away in the short term. And why would THAT be a motive for anyone to KILL Haleigh?

The word "possible" says it all. It is also possible she was abducted by a sexual predator after Misty left her and Junior alone.

Well, most bodies are found in wooded areas or in water because the perpetrator wants to hide them. That's like so-called psychics saying, "The body is near water..."--too generic to count.
Casey wanted to marry Tony....................Misty wanted to marry Ron
He wanted no female children...................He wanted no more children
In Casey's case, her interest in marriage points to motive for murder. In Misty's, it points to interest in marriage. Murdering Haleigh was not likely to make Ron more likely to marry Misty.
The human mind always looks for patterns, but as I said elsewhere yesterday, I think that trying to equate these cases just overshadows Haleigh's situation. The most signficant connection (other than the designation of "missing child" and the state of Florida) is that people despise Casey Anthony and her family and many on this board and other forums apparently feel the same way about the Cummings family. Thus linking the "despised" people in Haleigh's case to Casey Anthony and her family is just a way of saying, without evidence, that they are guilty of premeditated murder/and or covering it up. It's worth remembering that Jaycee Dugard's stepfather was widely believed to be involved in her disappearance, and we know how that turned up.

Both Casey and Misty may be headed to the same womens prison in Florida, Lowell CI. It is at that prison that many are sent with long sentences...lifers and such. Wouldn't that be a coincidence if they both ended up in the same cell...wonder which one would survive ?

I'm under the impression that it a Daytona prison. I saw where Chad Reynolds had been kept there & where the Overstreet's lived.....& Croslin's had lived.

Pittsburggirl while I agree with your statement about Jacyee Dugard and her stepfather not being responsible is correct however I do not recall him ever being accused as a matter of fact I beleive he gave chase on a bicycle but was unable to catch up with the car as well the abduction was witnessed by fellow classmates and he was quickly cleared as a suspect, the actions of Ron Cummings and Misty Cummings Croslin and Casey Anthony are completely diffrent from those of Dugards step father, as far as I know Duggard's step father cooperated with LE, while none of these players have. Duggard's stepfather gave useful information such as a discription of the car and those responsible, while these players have continiously tried to foil the efferts of LE as well as volunteers to the point of making threats...... My point is that it is unfair to compare these two cases to Jaycees case.
As far as the statement of pure speculation, you are also correct, because at this point we have nothing else. There are not any hard facts in Haleighs case, and honestly there aren't many hard core facts in Caylees case, and that alone is a comparison. The facts as known in Caylees case are... Caylee was last in the care of CA. CA did not report her missing for 31 days, for 31 days CA partied and acted as though nothing was wrong, once the fact of Caylee being missing was known CA lied and those around her lied....... In Haleigh's case she was last known in the care of Misty, Misty did not report her missing until Ron came home, Since her disappearance Misty and Ron have partied and acted as if nothing is wrong, and when ever confronted with the facts they lie and those around them lie, SO take it as you will... The comparison's are obvious to me. Just sayin

But isn't Chad a guy ? Lowell CI is for women and is known for it's population of lifers and others that have a lot of time to serve.They also have adequate facilities for those needing protective custody (ie;Casey and Misty). Lowell is not too far from the Orlando and Palatka area, IIRC. I am mainly guessing here, based on what I have read, it's entirely possible they could be sent somewhere else.
