Caylee Is Not Findable - FACT?

That's interesting, thanks. This is Florida STATE law though. And I'm wondering if it were possibly the FBI that found Caylee, then I would think at that point Federal law would apply (which overrides state law). So I'd still like to see if NJ can provide a federal citation that addresses notification to next of kin for us to take a look at.

And who is deemed to be "next of kin"? Is it the entire family? Or, whomever has the closest family connection? Would they only have to notify Casey in this case, since she is the next of kin? Or since she's in jail accused of Caylee's murder, would Cindy and George then become Caylee's next of kin?

In this state, the only one who has to be notified would be the parent. If that is true in Florida, then the Anthonys have NO legal right to be given notice of any kind.

Dead animals suspended from a pole on a rope will move. A dead child by the side of a bank will not.

Gala, they will eat anything dead or alive. Sometimes if they are full and something is alive, they will go ahead and kill it then "stuff" it under the mud (bog, whatever) - let it rot and then go back to it. They eat rotten meat all the time.

Somebody better notify National Georgraphic then. That's where I heard it on a program about alligators.

Just so everyone knows it is NOT legal for LE to find a body and not report it to her family. They cannot do this. No body or partial remains have been found, we would have heard about it.

We have no idea if they told KC or not. She is the ONLY one who would have to be notified and then not until all their tests were back on it.

The grandparents have no " legal standing" to have to be notified. That is why they can keep this quiet regardless of the find.

I can do that...........they need to correct it. Are you sure they were not talking about "crocs?"

The stats for the state of Florida regarding alligator bites to human include a section for those chomped on after they were dead.

Alligator will eat meat that they didn't kill. It is not their preferred meal, but it does not have to be moving.

Why would LE keep it quiet after notifying Casey?
Once remains are identified a death certificate would be filed.
Why would Baez stay quiet? He would immediately need to go into the tragedy that has befallen Casey as they have confirmation that Caylee has died at the hands of her kidnappers.

And the number of people that would have been involved with the find, the removal from the scene, the identification, and so and so on, there is no way that info would not be out. There is no gag order in place. They don't have to notify the grandparents, I agree, but I don't think they would let the public continue to search if they had a true identification.

Tony L. broke the lock with a tire iron iirc.

And she did not have that shovel long enough to dig a hole, and she wasn't dirty or sweaty when returning it. I do find it odd that she googled shovel and borrowed one? She must have been prying something open or up?

I wonder if Caylee's body released fluids into the sandbox and Casey used the shovel to remove the wet sand.

I agree with TURBOTHINK-- alligators actually let larger prey rot because they have to break up their food by thrashing it around-- it's easier to break apart rotting carrion than freshly killed prey.

I might be getting carried away, but the posts about chicken pole traps gave me chills. Did we hear anything else about the submerged rope supposedly found on the bank in/near J Blanchard Park? Is it possible that Casey is so confident that Caylee won't be found because she (or an accomplice) WATCHED her body being fed to alligators? It makes me sick to think about-- but I do wonder why Caylee is supposedly "unfindable"-- is it possible that Casey knows her body is gone and this is why she felt confident enough to say "they haven't even found her clothes!"

Tim Miller's statement that he doesn't think Caylee will ever be found-- and his quick retreat from the search effort made me wonder if he had been tipped off that there is solid evidence that there is no body to be found-- maybe someone helped Casey with the disposal and that person told LE-- and then LE told Tim Miller not to search in vain?? I'm probably reaching, but I can't help but wonder what's going on... and thinking that something has to start making sense soon-- even if it's a horrible kind of sense.

For your reference from the National Geographic website:

"Adult alligators are apex predators critical to the biodiversity of their habitat. They feed mainly on fish, turtles, snakes, and small mammals. However, they are opportunists, and a hungry gator will eat just about anything, including carrion, pets and, in rare instances, humans."

Definition of "Carrion"

1. dead and putrefying flesh.
2. rottenness; anything vile.

Nedtham, you are correct EXCEPT that they don't have to notify the family UNTIL THEY HAVE ABSOLUTE EVIDENCE OF POSITIVE ID FROM DNA.

If not, LE could bang on their door everytime they found a body until trial. Plus it opens liability to LE to incorrectly notify the wrong family.

I think you're both right, BUT the LE may have her body, awaiting DNA results for ID, and therefore owe no explanation to anyone until proven so.

Thank you, that's what I've been trying to say. If the body ahsn't been ID'ed, then no one has to be notified.

This is all so crazy! The hole/rope thing!!! When will we hear more on this?

And who needs to google shovel anyway????

I want to hear more about the hole/rope too!

That struck me as odd too!

Amen A shovel is a shovel. They have handles and either flat scoops or snow or somewhat pointed blades for dirt. If you have seen one shovel, you've basically seen them all.

We're quite simply employing the Dr. Seuss method of Calculatous Eliminatous!

"The way to find a missing something is to find out where its not!".

A quote I live by. ;)

I was a buyer/pa for a long time and shovels are not always just shovels. Go to google images and see how many type of shovels there are. Glad I don't have to do that anymore.

Shovels are different as to region. I had to buy snow shovels in Florida! (fish store across the street from the business)
