The bulldozer swerved and missed Christina ?

Be careful what you wish for...

Hmmmm...even IF said bulldozer had not swerved, CL would still have blood on his hands. HIS picture showed up @ Lowes and the ATM. HE had the conversation about Mexico with his buddy.

"The victim's mother, Mary Lauterbach, read a statement before the judge imposed the sentence. She told Laurean to look at his mother and see the pain in her face.

“I feel so sorry for your daughter. She will have to live with the shame that her father is in prison for murdering not one but two people,” Mary Lauterbach said.

Defense lawyer Dick McNeil told the court Laurean would appeal. The judge ordered the state's appellate defender's office to represent Laurean's appeal."

"Blanca Laurean, one of Laurean's sisters, who attended every day of the two-week trial, remained convinced of his innocence even after he was led off to prison.

"My brother didn't do it," she said. "I'm always going to stay by him because he's always been a good man.""

Maybe starting with no 2nd degree murder charge option? :waitasec: MOO

My thoughts too... After reading so many appellate cases, the failure to include a lesser charge makes me a little nervous. MOO

FWIW... I wish y'all could have seen the weather on base this afternoon. Skies were black as could be when the verdict came back, followed by a torrential downpour. Not that unusual, but when I walked out the door at 5:30, the sky was a crystal blue while still raining, and the largest, most beautiful double arced rainbow I have ever seen (including in Hawaii) was sitting over Holcomb Blvd. I'm not normally one to attribute supernatural causes to natural phenomena, but I got goosebumps the minute I saw it...something just felt very right about it.

Yes I will be around, Im waiting for Casey Anthony to stand trial in Florida, and im waiting for the Haileigh Cummings case to come to some kind of conclusion as well. This case of Cpl Laurean was just very close to me with the job i was doing and I went to the vigil they had for her here in Jacksonville.

Thanks MarineWife... I'm really glad I'm not the only one who saw that :) and thank you TopsailGirl for your kind words, and for making me feel so welcome, even though I was late to the game on this forum. I've really appreciated all the intelligent, thoughtful conversation I found here.
