Chances of a safe return?

IMHO.. Chances of a safe return are slim to none...

The best chance for a safe return would be if someone connected with Crystal has taken the child believing she needs to be protected. That would leave a big question as to why JR was not taken too.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is the case. Any other scenerio leaves me with slim chance of positive ending.

Her chances were slim already when she was reported...at this point, as far as I am concerned, I hope they eventually find her remains, because I am sure that's all that's left.

*If* it happened that way the abduction might have been disturbed in the middle although the intention was to get both children. Maybe Misty waking up or Jr making a noise, as Shaymus suggested in another thread. But I don't know how likely it is; wouldn't LE have discovered a relative or a close friend who is unaccounted for?

There was another case in St Louis where a stranger hid one boy for quite some time. I don't remember the details, but seems like he was caught when he grabbed the 2nd boy.
As far as I remember, both were fine.

On this case, though, I agree. If she's found alive and well, it will be a major miracle. I heard the "Joe" had been found and "cleared" but am still leaning to someone connected with Misty. I'm guessing she has more than one cousin. I also keep thinking Misty has a "friend" that "visited" that night.

I live in StL -- the perp had the 2nd boy for almost a week . . . had shawn hornbeck for 1558 days -- I would not say shawn & his family are "fine" but Praise God shawn & ben were found alive. http://www.shawnhornbeck.com/

The Shawn Hornbeck Foundation has been dissolved by the State because of paperwork problems, but its members continue to pursue their mission of finding missing children.

my exact thought! I am concerned with RC indicating he knows who took her

Is there any possibility that the disappearance of Haleigh was something concocted by Ron or Crystal in the hopes of profiting off of it?

Could Haleigh be somewhere with someone who is also looking towards financial gain at some point?

As twisted as it sounds I'd like for that to be the case as long as she is alive, and has been well taken care of.

The Caylee Anthony case could have been what started the snow ball effect.Grandparents getting donations, free trips....etc...which made one of them set the course.

I know..sounds crazy..but the way people are today it wouldn't surprise me at all.

As time passes and I see the behavior of Rc and his new wife..............I feel something awful happened EARLY that evening 8-10 pm??? and someone helped someone dispose of the baby........MOO
So many small crimes in this story just add up to 1 huge one IMOO

I can not get beyond the fact that if RC thought he knew who took this precious girl they would be beat to a bloody pulp or worse by now, I do not see RC as someone who would put up with "knowing" and not doing anything about it. I do pray that she is found alive, it would be a miracle.

I thought of this too, especially considering Haleigh disappeared on the day of Caylee's memorial. From the Caylee case lots of money was made, lots of publicity too. I wondered at first if this was some type of copy cat crime. If it is, I don't think it was thought of or fueled by RC. Misty is young and impressionable, it's a possibility. Possibly the bio mom, but then again, if Haleigh was safe, then the perpatrators most likely be found out in the end.

Slim chance she may be found alive, but certainly not "well." I can't believe the amount of time it is taking to find her. If they can't find her, she was probably murdered--I thought law enforcement was more knowledgeable and equipped to find missing children quickly. I guess not.

I keep having this nagging thought about the rr tracks: Has LE searched the entire length of those tracks for a body?

I still think there is a very small chance she could be found alive. It was almost two months before Shasta Groene was found after her family was killed and she and her brother were kidnapped. She had to endure some horrible things during that time including seeing her brother killed. But until a body is found I think we can have some hope.

Have a pretty good hunch that she was dead before she was ever reported missing. Florida seems to be a good place to leave a body. Nature reclaims it quickly.

You know, me too. Now, the scratch down the drivers side of the van appears to me to be about the same height as the guard rails on roads that are close to RR tracks and bridges. And it is deep enough that it had to be something solidly stationary, like a guard rail. I've tried to google earth the area where the RR tracks cross Buffalo Bluff Rd. Can't get close enough. Hmmm.

I actually got some hope today in hearing the 8 yo boy's abduction. He was taken from his home,no sign of forced entry, dropped off about a mile from home and no harm done to him.I am wondering if this wasn't a deterrent to Haleigh being missing, maybe supposedly like a copycat situation, but boy wasn't harmed. It almost leads me to believe more that Haleigh was taken and hidden and someone is trying to make everyone believe there's a serial kidnapper.Well,if it was the same person, would the boy be found alive and unharmed? This is very odd, even though the abductor did it with no forced entry and while parents were sleeping,he still was careless in letting the boy identify him with tats, toolbox and even the dog.
