Charity Distances Itself From Anthonys; Shoe Donations

 OMG, OMG, OMG, just when I think I'm over these people and their foolishness! A press release for a donation of shoes and a personal appearance. Have they gone off the deep end? I truly wish TPTB in that organization had the sense enough to say, "No, thank you. No public appearance. If you want to make a donation, please put it in our drop box, or bring it to us privately so we can give you a receipt."

I've fired off an e-mail to this organization voicing my opinion that I believe it in extremely poor judgment for them to be involved with this woman who has obstructed justice for her very own grandchild. (I, of course, didn't mention WS.) After all, they are a children's organization!

Hello WS :cool2:

A pair of shoes that belonged to Caylee Anthony will be donated to help less-fortunate children, her grandmother said.

One: the children that will receive those shoes are not "less fortunate" than Caylee(was).

Two: I thought, Cindy thought Caylee is alive? How can a person in denial, give away shoes that belong to their granddaughter that they believe is alive?

Third: I am really, really surprised all Cindy did was get media coverage for this stunt...I am surprised she didn't hold a "Caylee auction" to make money.

Last: I wonder how Casey feels about that? Is Cindy getting rid of all Caylee's stuff? Why?

...js...

According to Cindy she paid for Caylee's things.

Most grandmothers would figure out how children in need could benefit from shoes, clothes, toys and truly HELP someone. Quietly...because it's the right thing to do. Not Cindy. ONE pair of shoes and get the media involved. Disgusting. Cindy is classless.

Just because CA paid for Caylee's things does not mean she has a right to them. Technically everything belongs to KC. She has not been convicted. I mean, what will that little Irish orphan wear now when KC gets out..........jmo

ITA. Classless, tasteless, and clueless.

There is nothing wrong with donating a deceased person's things to charity. It's done all the time. I've done it myself, given away clothing that belonged to my parents, my aunt, my grandparents, my brother, my son, and my husband. Needy people are grateful to have nice, clean, decent clothes. I've donated my clothing and my children's clothing, too. Some were never worn, some only worn once, or rarely worn. This is done everyday all over the country. But how many times does the media get a call saying, "I'll be donating on Saturday"? In other words, "be there to cover my generosity". It's outrageous.

I dont think I would be able to give up even one pair if it was me :( I have boxfuls of my kids' things from babyhood etc and they're living children, if I lost one I dont think I could bear to lose another little piece :(

It's very difficult to do but sometimes another person's needs override our desire to hold on to objects.

After my son died, I couldn't part with his things. Then one day, a family who lived near my sister lost their home to a fire. They had four sons and lost all of their clothing. I gathered my sons clothing and shoes, handed them to my sister and told her to give it to the family, surely one or two of the boys might find something they could wear. I never regretted that. I do still have one my son's favorite camp shirts, and keep his Garfield that he had since he was two, plus some of his other things, including his TV and stereo. Of course, I do have a few of his baby things, too. I found the clothing the easiest to give away because someone needed it.

Knowing Cindy's history, it's very difficult to accept this as a true gift of the heart and soul. I would like to think her and George could use the donations as a way of remembering Caylee and accepting it's time to let her go. Perhaps keeping a few things that were really special to Caylee.

Alas, I have a hard time attributing human qualities to them. Often I've been let down by their actions and words. Only makes my heart hurt more for our sweet angel Caylee.

IMO, this is nothing more than an attempt for Cindy to showcase her own foundation at the Walgreens' function.
I'll bet she will be there with flyers and God forbid.......donation jars.

Cindy sent an email to FOX 35 explaining that "Operation Barefoot," will be held at Walgreens (Narcoosee and Lee Vista) on Saturday, August 28 from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. and will benefit children supported by The Children of Love Foundation.

A sad and pathetic attempt to look like a caring person. So sad. And pathetic.

I was planning on taking some things to the thrift store on Saturday. Maybe I should call the news first?

Oh my! I bet THAT is exactly what this is all about! promoting Cindy's foundation!!!!!!
Maybe that was one of the stipulations in their foreclosure deal - that they would be having money coming in to their Foundation? Since they are not having income of any other kind coming in through normal employment. Remember, the media statement was that they got their mortgage down to a percentage of "expected income", or something to that effect!

Casey's Parents Saved Home From Foreclosure
excerpts:
"The Anthonys’ attorney said he thinks it’s because both parties wanted to keep the case out of court. If it went to court, it would have created a media frenzy."

"Cindy is on disability and George lost his job. Lipton would not tell WFTV the amount of the new mortgage payment, but said it is 31 percent of their anticipated income."

“It was reduced to what they can afford,” Lippman said."

Makes one wonder if Baez is now in control of her spin.

God help all of us if that's true. Oh Lord, just the thought of Baez in charge of Cindy makes my head hurt.

From what I read online, a woman with this organization is supposively going to be speaking to one of the local news stations tonight on 11 pm broadcast.

Would someone PLEASE post synopsis for those of us not local?

This whole thing reminds me of the past when the Anthonys reported to the media that they were going to attend that crime victim seminar that Mark Klaas is affiliated with (am embarrassed to say I cannot recall family's name who holds it yearly in honor of their daughter)...

After media reported story based on CA's "leak", this poor family was bombarded with angry and nasty emails and a very upset/angry Mark Klaas appeared on NG to set the record straight but also "leak" that the Anthonys had been UNINVITED!

I am VERY VERY ANGRY that Cindy is pulling this stunt again....against yet another charitable organization whose goal it is to HELP....

I am beginning to rethink my mantra of "The only thing in this world I can truly say I hate because they nauseate me is brussel sprouts"

Could this be under advisement of council or possibly because George is ex LE, to cover their bases since Caylee (and Casey's) shoes were logged and photographed as evidence? Especially given recent change in council. :waitasec:

"Oh we gave those shoes away to charity. It's what _____ would have wanted."

:snooty: albeit morally repugnant.

Maybe she's only dontaing one pair of shoes because she thinks the charity might be able to auction them off to raise money???

I don't see any other reason for only one pair.

 • #156
Can someone get her a reality show for Heaven's sake and be done with it ? I feel, imo, that's where this is headed. It's so so sad.

IMO her measly donation was to bring attention to the cause ... to promote the event ... that was her contribution, to use her "fame" to raise contributions for the event ...

But stay tuned, I DO think that we could see Cindy in the future auctioning off items for their new "charity": "Trying-to-keep-our-house-and-keep-money-in-KC's-account".org

Patalono had noooooooo idea that Cindy would make a public donation. Patalono fears that she will lose her 20year career in this charity. Sponsers are backing out and made a statement that she could not stop Cindy from making the donation but does NOT want her volunteering or bringing the Media."

Well there ya go! Cindy Anthony makes everything she touches turn to poison. All of her glory seeking has caused trouble for another innocent victim! Why can't she just take a nice slow trip anywhere till trial time?
