Charity Distances Itself From Anthonys; Shoe Donations

What this family can't grasp if the fact that everyone hates them for not being a voice for Caylee...that's the bottom line, IMO...if they would do what's right for Caylee, tell the truth not cover up the lies and continue to lie for ICA, the world might have embraced them. They fail to see how they can never be a true crime victims advocate for they have failed Caylee miserably.

If she just quietly donated to this charity, no one would have been the wiser. CA knows people are watching her, people loathe them for they have failed Caylee...continue to lie for their prisoner daughter...will not endear them to the public. They know their last appearance for another charity where they were to be guest speakers also failed due to what I stated above. People contacted this charity and asked them to reconsider having them and they did take them off the cirriculum...I don't agree with hateful emails, a soft, sweet to the point message would have had the same impact. I get people are angry with them, I know I am and it's due to them not being Caylee's voice and their continued lies...

They also have shown up at vigils for other missing children and also was told, their help wasn't needed...Why can't CA/GA grasp it??? Narcisisism seems to be a running theme in the Anthony household...JMHO

Well, apparently Cindy really believes that. She genuinely believes that any media is good for an organization, so the fact that she is drawing attention to it is a good thing.

I feel for this charity-rock meet hard place. I suppose it could be worse-she could be auctioning Caylee's shoes on EBAY to the highest bidder in an attempt to get money for some group. Or foundation.

You are right ohiogirl. I feel bad for this woman, getting phone calls at home and at work - that is way over the line. I can understand the intense emotions people have toward this family, and I thought Cindy sending an email out about this was over the top myself. However, this woman is being harassed through no fault of her own and that is wrong! When the emotions spill over into other areas, it's time to stop.

You know, this type of thing makes me understand why neither George or Cindy are working. Can you imagine how an employer would be harassed if it was announced where they were working?

I just don't understand this type behavior, I really don't.

On Tuesday, Cindy Anthony sent an e-mail to Local 6, announcing that she would be donating some of her granddaughter's belongings to the Children of Love Foundation.
"I will be attending this event on Saturday, donating some of Caylee's shoes. I think that this project is worth mentioning," Cindy Anthony wrote.
The organization's founder, Doris Patalano, said she was unaware of Anthony's donation until she began receiving harassing phone calls from protesters Wednesday morning.

I am still so furious about this whole situation and personally, hold the media......and ONE media source in particular (Cind's "pet") with running with this story based strictly on an email from Cindy Anthony!:furious:

To me, this was no different than publishing a story based solely on "rumor" with apparently NO ATTEMPT at verifying information or obtaining the WHOLE STORY!

HAD News 6 received this email "tip" from Cindy Anthony and THEN contacted the charity to obtain quotes and information about THEIR upcoming annual drive, they would have learned that CA is NOT affiliated with this organization at all. Surely the email alone stood for itself that CA's motives were completely self serving....was obvious to most everyone else...but guess they wanted to be First to Break Story.

Now News 6 bears responsibility in bringing negativity and has probably hurt the success of this event that has been in planning for a year...

I certainly don't agree with all the backlash emails that were directed at the charity over the last 24 hours, but sure do wish those people who engaged in that action would have lashed out at Local 6 INSTEAD!!!

No, I don't understand them either. But these aren't rational people that do these types of things. They're the nutjobs. We know they're out there because they periodically come out of the woodwork in this case. :crazy:

I would be so embarrassed if I were Cindy. Doesn't she realize that no one wants to be associated with her. They don't want her around. How is she viewing this outcome now? If she had any brains, she would publically say ...she will not be attending the charity event.

If I were to see Cindy, I would get out her way for fear of becoming collateral damage.

What they are doing to the shoe charity ~ wouldn't that be infringment on something belonging to someone else? They need to be sued big time:furious:

Totally agree KentjpKent...but you see, since CA inserted herself and it was for selfish reasons and so selfserving, she just sabotaged this charity. What made her think this charity wanted the media there? If she didn't want to toot her own horn, just to tell about this event would have been a fine thing to do and would seem from the heart but instead, she had to insert that she will be donating some of Caylee's shoes for the need for media attention. She will be attending and would be worthwhile...for her to gain some sympathy, to look as if she truly cares about others. When and only when she becomes Caylee's voice, would people see her in a different light. Until then, she is a thorn in everyone's side...JMHO

They are billed as keynote speakers at the Melanie Ilene Rieger Memorial Conference next month in Connecticut.

Rieger was a college student who was murdered by her boyfriend in 1994. The Web site for the meeting says, "The conference was established in her memory with the hope that others would avoid such tragedy." The conference is presented by the Melanie Ilene Rieger Memorial Foundation and the Connecticut Department of Correction.

The Anthonys are scheduled to speak at 4:30 p.m. May 13 at the two-day conference in Cheshire, Conn.

Their session is titled as "Under Siege: A Homicide Survivor’s Story." The schedule offers no more details about what the title means

IIRC, due to harassing, threatening emails, they were uninvited...Why don't they get it?? If they can't be a voice for precious Caylee, they can't face the truth and no one wants these people to attend to spread more lies...JMHO
