The feds have widened their investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk to probe whether pro-trans, online groups and others connected with Tyler Robinson knew in advance about the plan to kill the MAGA influencer, The Post has learned.

Law enforcement sources said that investigators are examining leftist groups both in Utah and online to figure out if they helped him with the shooting — or at least heard it was going to happen.

It should be easy for everybody to say that. Republicans need to condemn violence committed by the right, just as I and many other Democrats condemn violence by the left.”

A Maine college canceled a scheduled Sunday night vigil for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, citing threats.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we are postponing the vigil that was scheduled for this evening at 7:15 p.m. by the Bowdoin College Conservatives,” the college wrote in a message posted to X by Steve Robinson, editor-in-chief of The Maine Wire. “In the past 15 minutes, we were informed by Maine State Police of external threats connected to the event,” the 7:00 p.m. message said without providing details.

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed new details about the investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk, saying in an appearance on Fox News that the suspect's DNA was found on items near the murder scene and that the alleged shooter said in a text message and a hand-written note that he planned to "take out" the conservative activist.

Federal agents matched 22-year-old Tyler Robinson's DNA to a screwdriver found on a roof at Utah Valley University and a towel that was wrapped around the rifle police believe was used in the attack on Sept. 10, Patel said on "Fox & Friends."

Shortly before he was taken into custody Thursday, Tyler Robinson apparently confessed to friends online to having killed Charlie Kirk, according to screenshots of messages obtained by The Washington Post.

In one message, sent via the social platform Discord, Robinson appears to have plainly admitted his guilt.

“Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” the message reads. “It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.”
