Someone had posted upthread that this guy was yelling "shoot him, shoot him" at some point during Charlie's remarks, so it's possible the crowd singled him out as the possible shooter after the shooting occurred. That man was also arrested though for obstruction so it's very possible there is a reason he was in the condition he was in. The police can't control who is taking photos and what they are posting and saying about the photos. I don't believe LE ever said that man was a POI in this case, it seems other had the photo and assumed that. At the presser they did say this man was arrested, but not for the shooting.
I'm with you. From 200yds away, from height, at a man underneath an awning, and acurately hitting a part of the body that would almost certainly mean death. Seems unlikely that the person responsible is a rank amateur.
A powerful man. Cut down because of it.I loved Charlie. My heart hurts.
When someone is doing something bad and they are killed it’s very sad. But when someone is good and kind and decent and loves my Lord Jesus and is murdered for doing good, my heart breaks. God bless his family.
The world lost a fighter!
He was well aware of the threats due to his beliefs. He stood by his beliefs, his opinions and continued to share them in a manner of open discussion with those that wanted to listen, debate or argue with him. We need more of that from all perspectives. jmo"You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won't have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It's drivel. But I am -- I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights." - Charlie Kirk
I wonder if he still would have stood by that belief if he knew he would be one of the victims. Everyone thinks it won't happen to them, or their family, until it does.
Obviously a mentally ill individual. JmoJohn Miller on CNN: Individual in custody is about 25 years old.

University police won't say if gun used to kill Charlie Kirk was recovered
At the recently concluded news conference on the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, a reporter asked the chief of the Utah Vally University police force, Jeff Long, if the gun used in the killing had been recovered.
Long paused and then said: “Um, I, at this point I can’t disclose that.”

Trump blames ‘radical left’ for Charlie Kirk shooting, but does not mention attacks on Democrats as search for suspect continues – as it happened
In Oval Office address, Trump vows retribution, but neglects to mention murder of Melissa Hortman, attack on Paul Pelosi and threats to Mike Pencewww.theguardian.com
I understand but don't think one had to do with the other. JMOThe timing of the shot, during a question about shootings, thats quite a coincidence.
Curious if there was any possible way for the shooter to know what was being discussed on stage.
Assuming a bullet or shell casing was recovered, they may want to wait until ballistics come back to state conclusively that they recovered the gun used in the shooting. He won't say because he doesn't have the authority, or doesn't want to?
If he knows and can answer but doesn't want to, why not?
No is sufficient.
Yes could result in a whole bunch of rumors or speculation they don't want now?
If they do have the weapon, they could glean info from it, its origins, serial number (if not scrubbed), DNA possibly, etc.
Wow. All I've got to say about that remark without getting banned"Hunter Brown, a 24-year-old junior at Utah Valley University, was about 10 feet from the stage where Kirk was speaking before an audience at the campus. He said Kirk was talking about shootings by transgender people in response to an audience member’s question when a single gunshot rang out.
“He said there were too many shootings [by transgender people],” Brown said in an interview with the Minnesota Star Tribune. “Then the pop went off.”

Charlie Kirk talked about shootings moments before he was killed, eyewitness says
The conservative activist was fatally shot Wednesday on a college campus in Utah.www.startribune.com
Probably yes. What can we conclude about a suspect/person of interest who carries out an assassination in front of thousands of people? People other than the shooter's target could have been killed too. Thousands of attendees are probably traumatized. I wonder if the shooter takes delight in what they did?
