Wait, are you sure? I thought you were 100 percent convinced that the state hadn’t proved their case....

I’m just teasing you, and I also fully expect the DP

Doesn't mean I agree with it ;-) Just stating what I thought was going to happen, so yep, I was sure, but interesting that they came back with LWOP on count 1.

Straight to San Quentin? I hope so.

I feel like maybe they believe that something other than pre-meditation caused JM death. Only way it makes sense to me.

But they found him guilty in the first degree. Isn't that premeditated.

I'll take 3-4 any day of the week for a sociopath like CM. He's DONE !

Am I mistaken or doesn't the judge need to give the final order stating that he is sentenced to die by lethal injection? Is it possible the judge will toss out the DS verdict?

Could not get video on law and crime. NBC video was horrible. Just a sliver. I am on my tablet. Maybe why.

It will take 1-2 months in order for his prison pack to come in before he is actually sent to prison. He IS a dead man walking at this point, which he deserves, IMO.
What is a prison pack?

LWOP and the death penalty. Best of both worlds.

I'm a bit confused by the verdict ... but I don't think it is going to mean much in the end. I could see it if they didn't find him guilty in the 1st degree of murdering Joey? Interesting.

I believe there will be a formal sentencing hearing in the near future.

What is a prison pack?

His court paperwork/previous criminal history/ needs to be investigated/corroborated etc before he is "housed" in the appropriate prison.

They must have thought he came there, and an argument ensued between him, and Joey leading to him murdering Joey first.

Then he murdered all of the other three to make sure he left no eye witnesses behind.

No matter what he's a goner. Good riddance.

Society is far better off with this monster being on DR forever.

Imo

Maybe they decided that Joey was killed first, and they felt it was a separate enough crime that it didn't fit the special circumstances for the death penalty?

I couldn't get it either and I'm on a laptop.

why would JM murder carry a lower sentence? That has to be tough for his family?
IMO sending a message that killing the family was particularly heinous. His business and beef was with JM. Including the family took it steps further.

why would JM murder carry a lower

Maybe because they don't know if it was premeditated for Joey---but had to be for his family

I have my glass of wine. Very confused about lwop for Joe McStay

My tentative theory is—a tiny trace of lingering doubt—they were willing to think that it might have been done in the heat of anger—specially since they all agreed on death for the others.
