luthersmama & real eyes, both those stories are so sad!

My boyfriends sister got into a wreck last year & she also survived the crash but she was stuck inside the car...like we couldnt get her out, we tried so hard and she was screaming in pain and she kept saying "please dont let me die please dont let me die" and right after she said that a police officer came and literally picked me up and took me away from the car & told my boyfriend to get back and her car went up into flames.

I say we get rid of every car in this world, and we all just walk! :) It would be healthy & safe.
I cant take all these horrible car accidents anymore!!

Sometimes crappy things happen. A teen and his girlfriend were driving home from the river and his cell phone rang. It was in his pocked and he tried to get it out (because it was his MOTHER calling) he lost control of the truck and ended up flipping it-killing himself.

How can a mother live with that, knowing that it was her call that caused him to flip his car? I don't think she really can.

As for the young people drinking and partying and doing drugs and so on, it is going to happen. No matter what-even the best of parents can have children who favor partying and drinking and to be honest, there are parents who are for their kids partying. It is almost like they are living their lives through their kids.
We had some young people on the way to prom last year or year before. Great non-drinking good kids. Driver reached for a piece of gum. went on the shoulder just a bit and then she overcompensated, flipped and killed several on board including the female driver who was the daughter of the principal.
Her mom was wating for her daughter's arrival at the prom.

JBean, that has got to be every parent's worst nightmare.

I am so sorry for those families as well.

There is a scholarship at our local school in honor of a young woman who had just graduated, whose car was hit head-on by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the expressway. She survived the crash, but the front end of the car was crushed and her legs were trapped. While her friends and passers-by were trying to get her out, the wreck burst into flames and she was burned alive.
My God, thats terrible lm; the pain from something like that never goes away; and it's probably on instant recall.

I need to stop reading this thread, the visualizations are impossible to deal with; I find myself in pain, as it touches some of the deep emotional pain spots that I already have buried in my body. i'm so sorry for each, and everyone, that loses someone close to tragedy. The pain never really seems to go away.

I feel likewise. The sadness is untouchable. How do you go on when they are forever 17/18. Kid's shouldn't die. This is senseless. I just don't understand. These people will need our prayer's for year's to come.

Interesting, but I think Buzz is talking about something that happened in the Pittsburgh area. :(

I know...but it reminded me of the movie and how brutal that scene was. It's hard to imagine anything like that can happen in real life.

I'm going to remove that link, if I still can, it's going to cause too many nightmares, I don't feel right about that. I'm going to have nightmares. Too much.

Oh good idea!!
i cant get the image out of my head!

Well, I would have never posted the news link if it had shown their remains, but what it did show was just too powerful, and the silence of the footage just was overwhelming. The impact looked overwhelming, I think they were all gone instantly.

Don't forget about texting. My son tried that one time while I was driving with him. I almost killed him for that. I was lucky he never did drugs or drink. His freinds teased him so bad for being straight.

 They were texting.

"It was so bizarre," Stephanie Shirley said. "I guess one of the girls was texting just before the accident hit. When she didn't finish her text, they tried texting the other girls in the car and then it just exploded."

Aww.
I always use to text when i drive.
But after my car accident ( wasnt even my fault!)
i pay full attention to the road!

I guess I could see texting as a passenger but not while DRIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't think they said that it was really the driver though... just one of the girls in the car was in the middle of texting. i thought that what i read was that driver was talking to the driver of the other car or getting ready to do so when the wreck happened. which was kind of traumatic for the girl on the other end of the line, i guess. i'll have to find the article. didn't someone post that talking on a cell phone while driving is illegal in NY? is that true?

Can you at least give me a hint as to where to find the disturbing video you are talking about?

We've got kids who's step sister is about to get her license and ours will be getting a permit in only a year. You know how fast time goes by. They think she's going to be so cool because she can drive.

They really need to understand the dangers.

I would like to use it for educational purposes, after viewing it of course to make sure it isn't too bad.

If anyone has it can you PM me?

Thanks.
