FANNIN COUNTY, GA. — A campsite belonging to convicted murderer Gary Michael Hilton was found in northern Georgia.



Hilton is suspected in the slayings of Henderson County couple Jack and Irene Bryant, who disappeared in October 2007 while hiking near the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah National Forest. Hilton has not been charged in their killings.

A hunter scouting for deer signs stumbled on the campsite Friday in Chattahoochee National Forest in Fannin County, Ga., near the border between Georgia and Tennessee, said Sgt. Justin Turner of the Fannin County Sheriff's Department.

The hunter contacted the U.S. Forest Service, which determined the campsite was Hilton's. He was known to frequent that area of the national forest, which is remote, Turner said.

And I believe it had to be something much more than books, belongings, and camping items that would have caused a deer hunter to jump on the phone and call forestry. Just a gut feeling I have. Due to the silence by Law Enforcement, and the antiquated strategy of keeping pertinent information close to the vest, IMO, the media moved on to other news stories.
I agree that there were significant items found by the Forest Official that identified it as GMH's campsite/staging area.

A good example of GMH's cageyness is a staging area, where he was eyewitnessed under a hemlock tree in a wooded area located on private/posted property, about 200' from an abandoned house in Dawson County, GA. He was using two real estate signs as a blind. The signs were from two different R.E. Brokers from 'Murphy, NC Mountain Properties'. If GMH, was questioned by LE, he would simply say that he worked for the RE Broker and was placing the property on the market.
I saw GMH's van in the woods off a field at 6:30 PM on 01/03/08. The field had a locked cable at the entrance. If the cable was locked this was an indication that the person on the property had the combination to the lock & permission. He had cut the fence, drove around the cable, then retied the fence....

Excellent questions, yanceyB, I understand your skepticism. Much of the information that I reveal came from unconventional means. This is why I documented it on the internet for memory and allibi purposes. I have contacted LE at every step of the journey, until I was hauled into the Dawson County Sheriffs Dept, which was an attempt to silence me by the use of intimidation.
I had a visit a few months ago by a LE Official that verified most of what I have revealed; cannibalism, IQ, Associates, duration & magnitude and much more. The interviewers of 01/07/08, think that Gary Hilton was being straight with them. In the interview GMH, was very calculating and deflective. A quick scan revealed over 5 blatant lies of which he was only caught in one lie; 'Did you rape her?'..The interview is laced with subliminals..

Answer: If you will research, my comments, you will find that Meredith Hope Emerson, frayed the manilla hemp rope, broke loose, and fought GMH in a desperate attempt to escape, inside the shed next to the Densmore abandoned Farm house in the early morning hours of 01/04/08(see pic at link in my previous comment describing this event). She was transported to the Atlanta Tract of Dawson Forest WMA for disposal..

In a previous comment I stated that I would elaborate as to why Gary Michael Hilton: Serial Killer, preyed on unsuspecting victims for decades without detection. GMH, was/is very intelligent, calculating, cagey, knowlegable of LE procedures, policies, forensics, and military special forces trained.
The Forest: National & State Parks, posted land and hunting clubs, and abandoned or vacant houses, were his safe havens.

I am confident that the books given to Cheryl Dunlap, FL(Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews), and Meredith Emerson, GA(Cannibals and Kings by Marvin Harris), by GMH, came from used book and thrift stores. GMH, had been eyewitnessed in the Jasper, GA, Thrift Store, between 01/02/08 and 01/03/08 and on many occasions by volunteers/employees.

GMH, has stated in many of his interviews that he constantly reads.

GMH, is being looked at for many other unsolved missing & murdered victims. Within a week of Gary Michael Hilton's arrest on 01/04/08, he caught the interest of the BAU of the FBI in Quantico, VA. Experienced agents and profilers were sent to sit in on the GBI interviews.

Many of the items that I reported at the abandoned farmhouse on 01/06/08, were taken in to the crime lab for testing, but much was missed, by a quick walk through by LE Agents.

The frayed rope with the ends taped, in the shed, where GMH, had Meredith tied up and she broke loose and fought him the 3rd time wasn’t noticed by me til 01/07/08. Meredith, moved her shoulders back and forth until the frayed rope broke, allowing her one final unsuccessful attempt at escaping GMH's wrath..

On the ridge above the shed was some large steel tanks, that GMH, was using to secure victims, as well as 2 iron bars leaning up against a tree(The GBI, months later retrieved these items and transported them to the crime lab for testing). The iron bars and tanks were shown to me by an intelligent stray black lab named ‘Buddy’. After scenting the rope, he proceeded up the ridge into the woods, stopping and looking back at me to follow him. When he reached the iron bars he nudged them with his nose, and looked back at me… He then proceeded up the ridge, which is a hunting club, and started scratching the ground and sniffing in several spots. On a logging road that disected this area, I looked around and saw the glass canning jar that GMH, used to mark his burial grounds. The sheds are full of ladies clothes and purses.
The 2nd shed over from the house is where the POI #1 on the Levi Frady site, came at me with the iron bar. I was dowsing the ridge, and suprised him. I am confident that he was removing evidence from the shed. He had no life in his eyes or expression on his face…

Across the street is an old country store. GMH’s wardrobe of old vintage wool clothes were hanging, and in a wooden box. A pile of these clothes were in the attic of the house where he had the frigid weather room, along with the ‘tuck me in box’, a case of canning jars, wood burning stove, and the newspaper with the night stalker article from 1989 Gainsville Times. GMH, was eyewitnessed by 3 people wearing these clothes in the dead heat of the summer, yet he showed no signs of perspiration. One of the witnesses said that he remembered him because he was cursing his dog; ‘Dandy.’

A turn down a different trail might have led searchers to the 24-year-old hiker before it was too late.

Still fresh in Cagle's mind are the hours spent with her parents and his interview with Gary Michael Hilton, the scrawny vagabond who admitted he kidnapped Emerson from a North Georgia hiking trail just for money he expected she would —- but never did —- give him.

I fired off a blistering letter to 'all news media outlets' including Drudge 2008, that said 'Case Closed My Buttocks'. The case will be closed when GMH's victims are revealed, 'All of Them.'
The case was reopened the next day... The Headlines were other than Bold.
IMO, the GMH investigation was reopened as a multi agency investigation, due to the magnitude and duration(victim total), that goes all the way up the Government Chain of Command.(Attorney General of the USA, headed up by the BAU of the FBI, in conjunction with many other State and Federal agencies).
Many closed, cold, and open cases of missing and murdered in many states are being reinvestigated. One of these cases is Levi Frady, whose body was found in the Atlanta Tract; Dawson Forest WMA 10/22/97, one day before big game season opened in Georgia.

I ask: 'What if one of his victims had been our Mother, Sister, Daughter, Son, grandson, granddaughter, Father, Grandfather, etc..

Wouldn't we want to know the truth?... 'The Truth will Prevail'...

tater, the pic is two pics combined, of a slide show that I had posted a link too, that has since been deleted. One pic is showing the view from outside of the shed and the other from the view inside.
The large spool is inside the shed, the manilla hemp rope was 3 yards long before it was frayed by Meredith. If you will look close you will see the fibers from the rope on the ground. The opening the rope was tied through the reel had a 45 degree cut and a sharp edge. Before the rope was frayed into, it had the black electrical on both ends.
tater, note the age of the rope compared to other items in the shed and the color of the fibers compared to the exterior of the rope.
I am a retired Atlanta Fire Captain Squad #5 High Rise Rescue/Haz Mat. Cert Rope Rap. Instructor, that has used the manilla hemp rope on hundreds of fires and other emergencies. While rehanking the ropes it is imperative that they be inspected for fraying. Our lives depended on its integrity and strength.
The shed was observed by me a few months before Meredith's abduction. I had requested a plat and written permission to view the property from the RE Agency that had it listed for sale.
GMH, bragged to the jailers in the Dawson Co. Detention Ctr., that she almost over powered him.
Steve Watson, a local businessman saw GMH, standing like a statue in front of the adjacent farm house at 9:00AM on 01/04/08..

Was it tied around her hands or where? The spool would be the one in the first picture that is sitting flat on the ground then but was it a hole cut in the spool? I can't get how moving her shoulders would have done anything. The rope in the first picture looks different.
