Chicago Police Kill 2 During Domestic Disturbance Call

she also said at the press conference this morning "i wanted his father to be here too but he decided to go see a lawyer instead"

she did not sound pleased.

He went to go see a lawyer instead. Oh snap. Mom doesn't hide nothing. She probably would have smacked him in front the camera or something.

Jmo. I feel for her and the neighbors family.

Did the family of Ms. Jones speak at the press conference?

her nephew spoke first, then a friend since childhood

So were any of the people present at the shooting speaking at the press conference?

Dad may be talking to his attorney because settlements are already being discussed and not riling up the masses factors into those settlements.

The ethnicity of the cops has still not been revealed, anyone present at the shooting would have that info and some could be very motivated to keep that a secret for the time being.

i didnt hear anything like that, after those two people there was one other guy and then the mother of the man killed, i had to do something after that and missed anything else

Hmmm, will listen more carefully to mom. She's brought up some good points so far imo. They may or may not be accurate.

You know, if one wanted to cash in on the current going rate of $5 mil or so for an LE shooting death that can't be deemed 'lawful' or necessary under the circumstances at the time, seems Chicago LE can be counted on to arrive with guns blazing under the right 911 call. Did dad make the right call? Jmo.

Did Quintonio call 911 first? If so, why?

It was reported that Ms Jones lived with her boyfriend. Has anyone heard anything from him? Or is the father her boyfriend? She reportedly had a family Christmas get together and the father went to a family Christmas get together. The son didn't want to go to the get together and the trouble started when the father returned.

Just because he never 'raised his hands' against his mom, it does not mean he wouldn't be violent towards his father.

If you are locked in your bedroom and someone is trying to break open the door with a baseball bat, that is violent, imo.

Does she say why. Was it effecting him and someway. Did dad know the extent of the son's medicinal needs.

She said some of his classmates seemed to think he did better when he wasn't taking them. She told him to quit taking them and planned on taking him to the hospital after the holidays were over. (paraphrased)

His mother sounds loony, imo.

It usually happens on Sundays my friend. So let's be careful. Jmo. I want to see everyone's avatar tomorrow. Jmo.

It sounds like Mom did not know what happens when someone suddenly STOPS taking meds for mental health issues. Not a good idea to suddenly stop doing so.

Okay. So dad was somewhat ambushed then with the possible what is going on with you.

Maybe the med stop should have occurred under moms watch and not dads. Just saying. But I'm sure she regrets this as well. Jmo

Combative, which is the word LE used, is not the same as homicidal.

Cheryl Dorsey, a retired Los Angeles police sergeant and law enforcement consultant for CNN, said people are right to ask why police didn't use non-deadly force, such as stun guns.

"Where was the Taser?" she said. "Why didn't they deploy a Taser? If they didn't have one on scene, they should have had one with an officer who was responding as backup. What was the urgency? There was no exigent circumstance that the officers could not have waited until a Taser arrived on scene."

Dorsey said an aluminum bat could cause injury but "is not a deadly force."

She said "deadly force should have been used (by police) as a last resort and not a first resort."

"If you're afraid of these streets to the point where you got to shoot first, you need to turn your badge in," said Betty Turner, LeGrier's great aunt.

She said he started the medication at Thanksgiving, so it's only been a month. He probably didn't even have an accurate diagnosis yet.

Loony because her son was just murdered, maybe? Seems unfair to be calling her names right now.

Was the son just there for the evening? Or was he staying with Dad?

If Mom told the kid to STOP the meds and then left him with dad for days hmmm. If she hates the father perhaps she thought he could deal with any issues that arise.

I think dad may have thought his problems were related to growing up in foster care JMO.

Antonio LeGrier told the Sun-Times that his son had emotional problems after spending most of his childhood in foster care. "Did it warrant him getting shot and killed? I don't believe it," the elder LeGrier said.
