Chloroform in the trunk of caseys car

this may have already been said by someone, so forgive me if it has. I havent been able to keep up with this forum at all. Anyhow, someone searched about chloroform on the computer, evidence of chloroform in the car, caisey recently desperate enough for money to steal it from friend including checks etc..

I think she needed money for her out of control lifestyle, came up with some harebrained scheme to "kidnap" Caylee and ransom her, which she knew her parents would pay. It went wrong and she killed her accidently. She still used the kidnap story, but of course it never made sense and its becoming clear why.

Either something like that scenario or she just flat out murdered her intentionally.

Casey wouldn't have been so horrible that she poured a whole bunch of chloroform in the trunk and put a LIVE Caylee in the back either to kill her or thinking that she would keep inhaling it, hence she would "stay under" longer????? I feel sick

Or maybe dumped it on a pillow?

I found this when searching for how to make chloroform:

CHLOROFORM IS A LIQUID ONCE USED AS AN ANESTHETIC, AND A SOLVENT FOR SPECIMEN PRESERVATION. IT FINDS USES TODAY IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY AS A SOLVENT BUT LITTLE ELSE DUE TO THE EMERGENCE OF LESS DANGEROUS ALTERNATIVES. CHLOROFORM'S CHEMICAL FORMULA IS CHCl3 AND IT BOILS WITH SLIGHT WARMING TO 61 CELSIUS.

CHLOROFORM CAN BE PRODUCED WITH A SIMPLE REACTION BETWEEN HYPOCHLORITE AND ACETONE. HYPOCHLORITE CAN BE FOUND IN POOL SHOCK AND BLEACH AS SODIUM OR CALCIUM SALTS. THE REACTION IS HIGHLY EXOTHERMIC, SO THE REACTION MUST BE KEPT COOL TO PREVENT VAPORIZATION OF THE FORMED CHLOROFORM, OR WORSE, BOILING OF THE SOLUTION. THE FORMED CHLOROFORM IS CONTAMINATED WITH WATER AND SOME SALTS, WHICH CAN BE REMOVED BY VACUUM FILTERING AND DRYING WITH MAGNESIUM SULFATE.

CHLOROFORM PRODUCED IN THIS MANNER CAN BE USED TO SOLVENT WELD PLASTICS LIKE ACRYLIC (ANY APPLICATION WHERE DCM, DICHLOROMETHANE IS NORMALLY USED) OR TO PRESERVE SPECIMENS LIKE INSECTS.

NOTE: AS DESCRIBED THE REACTION DOES NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH CHLOROFORM FOR EXTRACTION. YOU'LL NEED TO USE AT LEAST A GALLON OF BLEACH AT A TIME (AND SUITABLE AMOUNT OF ACETONE) IN ORDER TO RECOVER ANY USEABLE QUANTITY OF CHLOROFORM.[/B]

MATERIALS
-BLEACH OR POOL SHOCK (LIQUID)
-ACETONE (NOT NAIL POLISH REMOVER)
-ICE!! LOTS AND LOTS OF ICE.
EQUIPMENT
-MISC. GLASSWARE

The 2 areas that I bolded (well I thought that I bolded, oh well to lazy to fix it) are interesting. You would have to mix a gallon of bleach at a time to get enough chloroform. And it is volatile and would need to be kept very cool, then the ice.

Not sure that you would clean up anything with that much materials. A gallon or more of bleach and acetone? That is a lot of cleaning materials!

Yeah that made me woozy as well. :( But I wouldn't put anything past Casey now.

Chloroform would fit perfectly with a kidnap scenario. Casey could say she was knocked out with it or something. Also, to a murderer, it might be a good way to disable someone so that they don't struggle, scratch, etc. while being smothered. There's no way I buy an accident, using it to make Caylee sleep in the trunk, or that anyone else used the chloroform,

Maybe so, but, who's going to believe a chloroform kidnapping that goes unreported? Particularly after they hear all the evidence of Zanny the nanny looking after her for months etc....doesn't sound like Zanny would have needed to choloroform Caylee to subdue her if she was her regular babysitter.

IMOO

I have a question,... If Caylee was administered chloroform but NOT in the trunk, would enough of it be in her system that when she was deceased and placed in the trunk that the high amounts would seep into the trunk carpet? Just wondering.

It's being reported as "traces" or "trace amounts" so I doubt it.

This is just too much. They need to use the Chinese torture and put bamboo under her nails. Otherwise they will never get her to talk. This will go on forever and I am so sick of the lies!!!!!!! This 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 will get away with it!!!!!

About the computer search, I think LE could have a forensic evaluation done that would go a long way toward allowing a reasonable inference to be drawn as to who did the search. It is relevant that it was Casey's laptop. We only know she did it before the seizure of the computer on about July 16, but LE knows exactly when "someone" did the chloroform searches. They could most likely find out who signed on to the computer or entered a password, and if the search came right after, what other activity was going on, such as MySpace postings, etc. This would be good evidence.

That poor baby. :(

If she drank it? Maybe. Significant amounts would have been in any vomitus. I imagine a good lab could detect trace amounts if it were inhaled. Again, based on what the reports were saying about lethal amounts of chemicals.... I don't think that you would find THAT much from a corpse where chloroform had only been inhaled.

I'm not sure that the chloroform has anything to do with Caylee's death at all.
I think we might be jumping the gun on this.

Sources told WESH 2 the level of chloroform in her car was "suspiciously high." They also told WESH 2 that her computer confiscated within hours of her July arrest, show visits to Web sites with information on chloroform.

I had to go back and look - it was a lotmore than trace amounts. I thought I heard that right. Substantial amount.

As for making it - I heard you can make it with pool shock and nail polish remover. Maybe stole something else outta ole daddy's sheds?

Good question! This sounds very very graphic, but if she ingested enough of it, maybe vomit or spit-up around the time of death in the trunk....

I know when some people OD on other drugs they foam at the mouth and vomit while dying....just a thought.

Guess what ? Google has come through again ! I found a guide for making recreational drugs online. I swear I didn't have this before. When I searched chloroform I found it was used to make chloretine. I searched chloretine as a street drug and voila-- 2nd page....

He claims if you must make drugs, he can at least tell you how to do it right.
Chloroform is mentioned multiple times in the manufacturing process.
I agree that if she wanted to kill Caylee, there are easier ways that don't include chloroform which would have to be traceable.
Pre-meditated means planned which also means covering your butt.

Speaking of covering your butt...I wonder if she was smart enough, if she bought it online, to have it sent to the Saw Grass, 210 and was there during the day to snatch the mail...perhaps, had it sent to Zani the Nanny? Can you buy it with one of those pre-paid Visas? Clearly, she was stealing from everyone she could. What's $100? I am dying to see the info from the computers and what sites she searched and WHEN, my goodness, when did she start enacting this evil plan???

What I mean is this,... if Casey used this on her before bedtime or whatever to kill her. And later after so decomp started would their be enough in her system to seep out and get in the trunk when she transferred her?

Maybe Casey needed it for a drug lab. (I can't see Casey doing this alone though. the drug lab thing, she'd have to have help) But maybe Caylee ended up drinking some of it and it killed her. That would explain why she wouldn't talk and why NONE of her friends will either. It was an accident and in HER mind its Caylee's fault for getting into it. Doubt it but just throwing it out there. POOR BABY CAYLEE!

Well if not in relation to her death, the other theory is for Meth or some other drug. Either way, not painting Miss Casey as an innocent.

It will come down to the internet searches. What keywords she used. If the words "murder", "kill", or "death" come up in relation to the internet search for chloroform, then we can all safely assume it was in regards to Caylee's death/disappearance.

Until then, I cannot come up with any innocent reasons for her to want to research and illegally purchase this chemical.

Then for what? To clean up the stain in the trunk? WHY else would LE release it?

edited to add, I am not trying to jump on you. I realized after I read it, that it sounded like I was! lol

It's very, very good to be cautious. I think that the timing and content of the computer search(es) will be crucial factors in determining whether or not this is relevant.

The only place I had seen a report firsthand was NG, where it was reported as "traces". Computer is being diffucult and won't load WESH right now.
