andTacky Tacopina claims another victim (er client)
Its hard to feel sorry for a philandering husband. Especially when hes married to a wealthy, beautiful woman. But sleazy media-hound lawyer Joe Tacopina elicits pangs of sympathy for Peter Cook, the estranged spouse of supermodel Christie Brinkley.
I dont know anything about the problems in the Brinkley/Cook marriage that led to les liaison dangereuses. (snip) But I know that Tacopinas hunger for personal aggrandizement and publicity have made a sad situation infinitely worse for all concerned.
According to the New York Post the family of Peter Cooks victim hired Tacopina to protect the child who was having sex with Cook in case Bianchi is called as a witness. By the time this sorry episode is over, Ms. Diana Bianchis family will regret ever involving Tacopina and his co-counsel Rosemarie Arnold.
What a slime.Tacopinas first step to protect his client was to splash her picture on the front page of the Post with an exclusive interview. Even the child felt uncomfortable, but she was comforted by yet another lecherous lawyer, Rosemarie Arnold, who counseled Bianchi to keep talking to the Post after Bianchi stated, I dont like these questions. At least in a police station the questions stop after such a statement. Not at the Post, not when Tacopina is in publicity overdrive.
The Post refers to Tacopina has high-powered, but self-promoting and high-publicity would be more like it.
So he was engaged to someone else when he started dating Cole (which I presume was in 1995... and she broke up with him in 1996... and he got engaged to Brinkley in 1996 and also married her in 1996. Yup, he was on the prowl. And still is."I met him when I was 18, probably just turning 18," the now 29-year-old Cole said. "We met on a boat party." At the time, "he was engaged" to someone other than Brinkley. He "offered to introduce me to some people in the music business."
But in the meantime, Cole added, like Bianchi she also took an assistant position at Cook's company.
"He hit on me after I worked there a little while," Cole said. "He asked me to dinner. And I said, 'No, I think you're too old for me.' Blew him off for a while and then he convinced me to go to dinner. He's very charming." Their relationship lasted about a year, she said.
Cole went on to say that after she broke up with Cook in 1996, he popped the question to keep her from walking out. About a month after she refused him, she said, he was engaged to Brinkley.

well stated heart..i think all of us know the place u describe..even if we are wronged and our dignity is stolen..there is still a mix of devastation and anger..u might know he is an SOB-but u are not doing great either..u are surviving the shock of your life so to speak-aint nothing great about it.HeartofTexas said:Well, I'm a little confused... according to her Mom, Christie is:
So, is she doing great, or is she devastated? Myself, I would not be doing fine. It's one thing to find out your husband is a teenie-chasing, two-timing, philandering, no good piece of chit... but it's another to have the rug completely pulled out from under you and your heart broken. So there's heartbreak and there's anger, neither of which equate to doing great.

as you will see, he thought a lot of himself back then, too.
i have no way of authenticating this. it may be photoshop from a blogsite, but i think it's for real.

HeartofTexas said:If he was a model back in 1981, it's hard to believe that he hadn't met Christie before 1996. But I agree... his looks don't appeal to me at all. OTOH, he seems to be pretty eaten up with himself. LOL!
Also, Christie is going after this SOB with a vengeance (if you can believe the Enquirer)... GO Christie! At the time she received the hand-written card, Cole was 19 and pursuing a singing career. Cook was a 35-year-old former model and architect who would marry Brinkley just a year later.
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/436946p-368063c.htmlBrinkley, meanwhile, has hired two professional snoops, including Hawaii-based investigator Terry Pennington, to dig up dirt on Cook's philandering ways, according to the National Enquirer.
A source told the Enquirer that damaging e-mails found on the computer are being turned over to Brinkley's divorce attorney. The Enquirer also reported that the investigators suspect Cook may have fooled around with two dozen women during his 10-year marriage to Brinkley.
