The indictment says that he sold the guns prior to being convicted. Wouldn't that be BEFORE he was convicted?

How could that be against the law?

Why would they prosecute him of a gun charge from 2001?

Why does the indictment say The Eagle's Club in one town and then says he sold them in another.

Why does the indictment only mention that he sold 2 of the 3 guns?

Don't know, here's my take on it. In 2002 he was convicted of a felony and felons can not possess fire arms.

A federal grand jury indicted Charles Durwood Ingram on charges that he knowingly possessed firearms in and affected commerce after he had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.

That same grand jury also indicted his wife, Dale Ingram for aiding and abetting him.

The ATF also alleges Ingram made a false claim by completing a sworn statement that he sold the guns (a Hi-Point, 9 mm pistol, a Taurus .45 caliber pistol and an Intratec .22 caliber pistol) prior to being convicted of a felony offense.

I take it he still had possession of the guns far after his conviction.

Now the BIG news for me. It appears the Federal Grand Jury is meeting at this time! I've been wondering and hoping they come out with charges in the Haleigh case. We might be having a secret Grand Jury meeting discussing this case now, I'm hoping.

Thank you. Now that you posted that I can understand what I am reading better.

On April 28, 2010 he told an ATF agent at The Eagle's Club in Hollister that he had sold the guns before he was convicted but they have proof that he sold them in December and January 2010 which is after he was convicted.

IMO, he has been doing this for a long time and no LE seemed to care. IMO, now for some reason they care and have arrested him. IMO, there has to be a reason why no action was taken before but has been taken now. IMO, could it be because someone "snitched" on this guy, perhaps someone behind bars on high bond, who would like to make a deal? I know none of this to be fact, it's all IMO...but when illegal carp goes on and on, and everyone turns a blind eye to it, then suddenly they take notice and they take action, the first question that comes to my mind is WHY NOW?

At this point, about as much as WBG, I'd guess.....someone who was associated with a lot of people associated with people who are connected to Haleigh's disappearance. I imagine most of it is just shock that we are just now really putting together that this person who played peripherally but liberally is a RSO.

Frankly though, he can just wither in his hole for the rest of his life and never be discussed by me again.
