His mother is black; his father is white. He grew up in a predominantly African American neighborhood where he lives (or lived) with his mother. Thus, he gained the monicker "White Boy Greg" from his peers.
(bbm) I don't have to be on Crystal's or RC's "side" nor anybody else's to be on the side against racism eg. I don't have to pick one of their sides to advocate for children, and women--nor to come down on the "side" of truth and against violence nor to take a stand against hate, deception, misguided priorities, twisted values or disrespect etc. W/e he managed to conceal or we'd been unable to observe previously, RC himself ultimately reveals in these recent glimpses into his true character.
It's not enough to not pick sides IMO. God take sides--on the side of mercy and justice--which is from Whom, and from where, I take my own cues. And also why I advocate for unselfish, healthy parent-child boundaries, teaching truthfulness to children and modeling self-control, maturity, integrity, empathy, honesty, respect and decency. And to date, I have seen NONE of the above from Haleigh and Junior's father. But whenever moral issues arise about which God cares deeply--whether it's racism, using foul language, losing control or other inappropriate conduct around children--you can believe He takes sides. And *my* business is always gonna be to figure out which side that is.
RC--his foul mouth, his reckless, irresponsible, cowardly ways and arrogant, explosive, hatefilled attitude are far worse than a "redneck momma's boy," he could never be anywhere near my own children. Why would I want anything less for Junior--those selfish, childish, foolish traits have in all probability already cost Junior his sister's and Crystal her daughter's life. But regardless, he's come out of the bag now, and proven for any who will hear just how grieved he is about what became of his daughter, how deep his concern for his son.[/COLOR]

Dunno where anyone else has been--or what their experience has been--for the past year but I've been here, listening to many defend RC while insisting the rest of us were being harsh, insensitive, unsympathetic and judgmental toward an innocent, griefstricken father who's consistently portrayed himself--and been promoted by his family--as "misjudged" and "misunderstood." From the very first footage of RC collapsing on the ground in his blue striped polo, others pointed to his words, media appearances, and public performances as evidence of his character--and we were admonished and expected to do the same.
Any who dared look beyond to his behavior, his actions--and inaction--were accused of underestimating his devotion and dedication as a father and promptly chastised for any doubts and suspicion on our parts. This, even after having dutifully, exhaustively explored every scenario imaginable--and despite unwaivering determination to follow the facts in evidence wherever they might lead.
A year later, we still don't know where Haleigh is. But I've learned this much. RC is a raging narcissist whose family is as disordered as he is. He is a fraud and a charlatan IMO whose entire family has exploited his and their victimhood status, manipulated and milked the media for all it was worth, and enlisted the sympathies of the public at large. For a year, he pretended to be respectful--obsequious in his flattery and false humility while making appearances--to impress, and to gain the respect and trust, of viewers, donors, and reporters alike.
I stand by any links made between abuse and pathological narcissism--as the enabling, excusing, excessive indulging, spoiling and smothering of a child is as harmful and abusive as other more easily recognizable forms. And even more nauseating than RC IMO has been the perpetual minimizing, normalizing, and histrionic pleas of his mother. TN is his biggest fan--and his worst enemy, all merged into one. Her maudlin, over-the-top performances throughout the past year have outshone, and exceeded even her son's. She too is a deceiver, a pretender--and I, for one, have wearied of the pathological fraud, blameshifting and exploitation which this family has perpetrated upon the public.
There is nothing pretty about this picture, and I will be the last person to try to nomalize his family's sick dynamics by saying "we all have issues" as tho we were all posers and impostors, and all had a child's body tossed somewhere and preferred to sweep it under the rug, or make her go away. It's been the worst kind of "bag..." It's been a charade of epic proportions--at the bottom of which still lies a small helpless girl where only a very few know but are still refusing to admit since they've preferred instead to wear their masks and facades of normalcy, decency and innocence--of a hardworking, All American "redneck momma's boy" who came home to his daughter "stole" thus deserves our pity not criticism--and thereby entitled to go on soliciting and availing themselves of the sympathy that accompanies victimhood.
That's real.
