Here's what I propose! We can have a drinking game during the hearing, take a drink each time Lee says "absolutely" and take a drink each time CA says: "you know".

NO!! We would all die of alcohol poisoning!!:Banane39:

Can we add in his laughing and her spreading her legs out (and open)??

Whoa...I didn't know how else to describe it. It's on the videos of her police interviews. She was all sprawled out......definitely not ladylike and proper as I would be if I were being interviewed by LE.

And BTW .... WHY don't any reporters ask Conway WHERE George was for the last 3 Hearings??? And if he has a job, or if he just chooses not to attend the Hearings? And will George be there on the 15th? And have they moved out of the Hopespring home and moved in with Holly G. in their former pastor's home?

I don't understand why the reporters don't ask the good questions (lol). Could it be that the As have sent out a memo stating that all questions/interviews have to go through their attorney? I'm not from Florida, but from what I can tell on the daily news thread, it doesn't seem that the As have their faces on tv quite so much anymore. Interesting about the move. I thought in one of Cindy's letters she mentioned Holly moving in with a guy named Sean...or was that someone else? My brain hurts trying to remember everything. It's good to know that we're less than a year away from seeing this come to an end (fingers and toes crossed). I can't imagine there being another hearing quite like this one, though. Other eagerly awaited hearings (for me) will pertain to the scientific stuff (no As needed)...but this...oh...this will be a goodie!!

Cindy's mailed letter to the Inmate, say that Holly G. divorce was final in December and Holly moved into "Shane's" home (the Anthony former Pastor of Eastside Bpt - he moved to SC), and that Holly was trying to buy this home. I believe it's a good bet that Cindy and George are staying with Holly in this home on Lyonia. (I am amused by the play on words with the street name of LIE ON YA)

Cindy also wrote in her letter to the Inmate that she cannot bear to go into either Caylee or Casey's rooms any more.

Nov 4, 2009 pg 109 - "I used to take refuge in your room as well as Caylees but its almost too unbearable to go into either room now. My heart is aching every minute."

Several people have driven by the Hopespring home lately (one as recently as July 6, 2010 and July 4, 2010 and June 14, 2010) and report that it looks deserted, that it looks like the Anthonys have not lived there in a long time - no cars in the driveway - no people coming and going for a "while" - no lawn maintenance, lawn is dead, weeds everywhere - old faded Panda bear flag flying by the door. We know that Lee moved out and now lives with Mallory.

On May 19, 2010 a blogger saw George at the house and saw containers in the garage.
Does not mean they were staying there though.

In Feb 2010 it was reported that George was cutting the lawn at the home that Holly G is living in, and some suspected that George and Cindy lived there too.

March 18, 2010 - Indigency Hearing - George was overheard by someone who attended the Hearing, talking about all the renovations they were doing to the Hopespring home.

March 22, 2010 - Foreclosure proceedings on the Hopespring home began.

texaslb, CA from the very start has indicated that she is better at everything than anyone. Her superiority complex is relentless and continual. In one letter to KC she indicates that Jose Baez and Andrea Lyon aren't handling a legal issue incorrectly....CA's a lawyer now!

I confess to being a bit like this myself. When I have problems I go out and buy a book on the subject, I read it cover to cover and then pretend to be an expert. lol. At least I KNOW that this is stupid. CA is filled from top to bottom with bravado. We can never know why she is like this. Undoubtedly has a great deal to do with how she fits in with her original family. (I know this because.........I read a book. lol)

O My Goodness, Affinity...bbm - these comments are so on the mark about CA.

I've given a lot of thought to how CA will behave on the 15th. You would think after all this time and all the negative comments - she would act in a somewhat controlled manner. The truth is....I'm not sure she is capable of doing that. CA truly believes that she is superior in all ways, that the rules and laws normal people live by do not apply to her.

The bottom line, to me, is that there is no way possible that her performance will benefit her daughter's defense. If she's the belligerent Cindy - it won't bode well for KC. If she's meek and subdued - she's drugged - and I can't see that being a pretty performance either.

Always, JMO...

I think they will ask many questions that can only be answered Yes or No, so she can't elaborate or start rambling.. they have probably encountered people like the Anthonys before....:innocent:

lol!

She will just say, "But, but, but I cannot answer with yes or no because the answer is not a yes or no answer."

Can't elaborate? She will not be able to help herself. IMO, there WILL be a smackdown by Judge Perry. There will have to be.

This hearing is just too good to be true. Someone will either be sick or have an emergency. I will have to say prayers for good health for all.

Someone posted that they think Lee will be truthful. I agree. Lee has too much to lose if he lies.

JMO

Cindy will get on the stand and play the poor bereaved grandmother in an act worthy of an academy award. She'll probably throw in a little giggling and eyelash-batting at HHJP for good measure.

OR

She'll be tranquilized and barely conscious.

Either way, I predict Casey will have a hard time holding back the hatred for her mother. The officers may want to consider keeping the handcuffs on her that day.

JMO

Not that I'm sticking up for Cindy in the least, but she also thought she was looking at pictures of Zanny's apartment which turned out to be Ricardo's. ICA could have very well showed her a picture of a random guy and little boy..suddenly it became Jeff and Zach. Just sayin'

Respectfully Quoted MD MOMMY :)

Hello! MD MOMMY you are right, I admit I just assume that Cindy is lying. I hadn't thought that maybe Casey had embellished this story to the point of having props but it is certainly very possible. IIRC, Cindy's co workers said Casey would come to drop Caylee off and she had her "lanyard" for "work" with her. We also have that Casey sent "work" emails to herself, so thank you for your post.

Next I would wonder though, if Cindy is so sure that Mr. Hopkins and his son exist, why she wouldn't be on a non stop campaign to find said Mr. and Jr. to save her "beloved and "innocent" daughter?

Wait, I know the answer to that...

Thank you for your answers! If I can ask a followup: what is the implication of being a hostile witness?
--snipped for subject matter

When one is declared a "hostile witness" by the judge, it allows the SA to ask more 'leading' questions.

I wanted to add an example that Richard Hornsby posted in a response on his blog. It gives a good example of the difference in re. leading questions when one is declared a hostile witness. HTH

See Florida Statute 90.612
If a person is deemed to be a hostile witness (meaning uncooperative) or associated with an Adverse Party, a person may interrogate the person by leading questions.

Leading questions imply the answer,
Q: You called 911.
A: Yes
Q: And Casey Anthony was sitting next to you when you called 911, correct.
A: Yes

As opposed to questions where you cross your finger the witness testifies as you anticipate.
Q: Did you call 911?
A: Well, you see…
Q: Where was Casey Anthony when you call 911?
A: Well, she wasn’t really paying attention and was in the other room.

Whoa...I didn't know how else to describe it. It's on the videos of her police interviews. She was all sprawled out......definitely not ladylike and proper as I would be if I were being interviewed by LE.

It was in the videos where the camera was above them, she was wearing black shorts and a Caylee t-shirt and black shoes with her giant black purse up on the table, the interview where she kept walking behind the detective to look at the calendar and he was all like "Uh, I've NEVER conducted an interview like this before" because he was so uncomfortable with her leaning over his back and putting her palms on the table with his poor body encapsulated in her grasp. It was during that interview that she spread her legs out in front of her and spread them wide, and kept taking off her shoes and playing footsie with her own shoes, turning them over with her bare foot. It was so disgusting I wanted to puke.

This morning I rewatched some of the original bond video, and the very first thing she does after getting sworn in is put her hands to her mouth and gasp hard, she's asked if she needs a moment before beginning and she says "This is the first time I've seen Cay.. Casey in a week .... I'm ok, go ahead", gasp gasp. She can never say Casey without starting to say Caylee. The first question she's asked, she goes off on this tangent about her mother writing a letter to her aunt every night and her aunt is a widow because her husband died and her mother writes to her because her father is in the nursing home because he... and the prosecutor interrupts and says something like this is not answering the question at all. I mean, it's like the very first question and she's off and running!!

Last time IIRC GA was on the stand was for the autopsy photos or some other issue. The SAO and others who questioned him tore him apart.

TWA, would you happen to have this in your treasure trove of media memorializations ....lol.

eta: to clarify, it wasn't the photos it was the report. Heat wave here after three days is frying what brain cells I have left.

Here ya go friend, yes, Mr Anthony tried to refuse to answer one of Mrs. Drane Burdick's questions. He said he didn't see the guess what..... the relevance
The judge quickly helped him answer the damn question.

He wound up proving up the state's case completely in opposition to what Mr. Baez had been maintaining to the court. It was priceless.
