It never fails to amaze me that people are so concerned about what others do in the bedroom.

I do not think it is wrong unless the taxpayers end up paying for protitutes. I see a problem with that, since they are illegal. That's why I asked who provides the hospice services.

That being said, I can see why the young man arranged it and it sounds like it was done with dignity and respect. Prostitution is among several things I'd like to see legalized.

But of all the ways my tax dollars are spent, this would be better than most. (I realize the incident occurred in England, so my taxes aren't at issue. Just sayin'.)

Where I live (Nevada) it is legal. No big deal, really. I've been inside one of the local establishments (I picked up a book of matches to put in a buddy's car - his wife and I get along fine now.) Not really my thing, but nobody's forcing anyone to do anything and nobody's being hurt (unless they pay extra because they want it).

I just don't see an issue with this .... unless it boils down to some moral thing.
Doesn't England have socialized medicine? For sure they pay for worse things (morally speaking) like Abortions?

This young man is dying .... I know in the USA we even give criminals a last meal before a death sentence.

I just think if state-funded hospice providers in the U.S. started doing it, people would have a fit. Since prostitution is illegal, I think they's have an argument that the state shouldn't fund illegal activities.

I think it should be legal too! Has it caused any problems in Nevada or has it eliminated some? Nova, somebody would probably have a problem with funding trip to the theater, too.

Anyway, I can imagine where this guy is coming from and more power to him and those who helped him.

If the guy was of legal age...he really didn't need permission. He could have simply kicked hospice out of his room and called any woman (prostitute or not) on his own to come visit for whatever reason. Aren't hospice patients are allowed privacy if they are able to ask for it? I guess I don't understand why everyone had to be involved in his quest for sex.

I don't believe that the sex life of any poster who don't agree with this has anything to do with how they/we think. I would have felt the same way at age 18 or age 60. I figured that the young man found it emotionally unfulfilling and may even suffer some depression after the experience. He would like to have a girlfriend but he is dying.
