Hailey Dunn's father, Clinton Dunn, made the 225-mile trip east to Mansfield from Colorado City to tell supporters of an anti-human-trafficking group that authorities wasted a week while they investigated his daughter's disappearance as if she had run away.

"He was the last one to see my daughter alive, and that's why I think the police are spotlighting him," Clinton Dunn said. "I don't want to think he's guilty. If he's guilty, that means my daughter is probably dead, and I don't want to think like that."

He just explained his "re-thinking" about whether SA had anything to do with HD missing. If SA is guilty, HD most likely is dead... and that is so heartbreaking to have to accept that conclusion. Hanging onto hope and fearing the worst. I don't think CD really believes that his daughter was abducted by a sex trafficking group. But death is so final, so nevermore, and he would rather she had a chance and still could be found. That is what I call a living hell. I feel so sorry for him, and others, who really loved her.

I have a feeling that this new baby girl of Clints will be very well cared for. I think he will try and make up for the imperfections that affected Hailey so tragically. And I bet she will smile down on him in response. Bless their hearts.

I am SO not for kicking a guy while he's down, but hearing his video made me really sad. I know he doesn't want to believe his ex (or should I say current) wife and her lover boyfriend had anything to do with it - but I (and many others believe they do). Why is he looking "outside the box" when inside the box is glaring at him right in the face.

He didn't show this kind of reaction when the child porn was found in his own daughters house, but yet thinks the thought of his daughter being forced into child slavery breaks his heart.

I honestly thought he was going to appeal for help to find Hailey. Maybe they just didn't show it. I also heard a lot of going-on's in the background, which I thought was kinda rude. Like people were not paying attention (NOTE - only my speculation).

I applaud him for what he's trying to do, but he still needs to deal with BJD and look for answers there. I'm not seeing that. Maybe this week will bring more information.

Anyway, just my take on it. Glad to see more posters, shirts, etc., out there to bring Hailey's face to the forefront, but IMHO she is not being trafficked.

I hope so too. It won't be easy for him, especially with the tragedy of HD, but maybe this is God giving him a nudge wanting him to take that second chance and turn his life around. I think HD wanted that for her Dad before and if she' is gone, she would be beside him with that nudge too.

He and NS seem to be wearing wedding bands....just not legal yet.

For myself, probably from working with little Gabe Johnson's family, I understand perfectly the denial they go through. They can't stand not just the thought that their child is deceased, but the horrifying thoughts of what their child went through as they were killed.

When it becomes too much for them to cope with, and they go into denial, and need to reject the pain of their child's pain and suffering, we need to be compassionate and understanding and supportive, and realize they just need to get through another day, which at times, is excruciating for them.

The last thing they need when they are in that state of extreme pain and suffering, is people insisting that they think about their child being raped and beaten and tortured and murdered. They're right on the edge. Let's not push them over it.

This is my opinion.

Thanks for posting the pictures, they are really beautiful pics of a very somber time. My observation of CD in these pics is is appears to be exhausted but looking much healthier than previous pics I've seen. The baby of course, is just a doll.

Bless his heart. That was pretty rough watching him realize that finding Hailey might take more than "just another day, and she will be home." He is learning a lot, especially about lost children and the specific tasks (including SAR - YAY!) that LE needs to have even in small towns. In a way, he might have found his calling and purpose in life - as tragic as it is...
