Of course! But my point is that people with bad motives toward children are often attracted to those professions and past-times and this guy might have been too. I wonder what else is in his past that might have been a flag.
Maybe the odd one, but I sincerely believe the vast majority of teachers have good motives towards children and families.

Or seeking to quell a relentless voice or urge before the school year so he didn't loose yet another teaching job? In a crazy, psychotic, maybe schizophrenic way?

IMO
I think exactly that.

Did he have a record? Otherwise I'm unsure of what we want the school systems to do exactly.
If appropriate, fire for cause, instead of taking the "resigned for personal reasons" route.

Texas has a "three strikes and you are out" law regarding the automatic revocation of a peace officer license after three terminations.

Evidently, the revocation of a Texas teaching certificate after three strikes is not automatic per se like with peace officers, but it does become highly likely.

Likewise, terminations for cause would allow follow on districts to see that he is bad news. But.... I imagine that terminations for cause require more paperwork, more documentation and.... could also involve an appeal process. Meanwhile, "resigned for personal reasons" allows bad news teachers to go away quickly.

I now think that's what he was hoping to do. I initially believed he went there to kill randomly, but him being a teacher and from some other things I've gathered, I've definitely changed my view.

How the hell he planned to do this is anyone's guess, but I think we'll learn those parents are heroes.
I searched his name on FB and now think the same.

Something sparked an altercation between this guy and Mr and Mrs Brink. I wonder if he was off the trail, watching kids and pleasuring himself and was caught in the act? The search of his electronics is going to be ugly, I suspect.

Speculation.

They need to interview every student or at least the parents of every student of his and anyone he coached or was around for any length of time. Who knows what this guy has done.

My favorite thing to do in my free time is exercise, specifically, running. I played football, baseball, and rugby in high school so I love sports. I have heard there are some runners in the dolphin family so show me where the good trails are at since I’m in need of a go-to running trail.

Of course they do. Just like the vast majority of parents are loving and do the best they can for their children. But we know there are bad ones, too. And it's the bad ones that make the news. Most people aren't in the headlines because most people are law-abiding and doing fine.

Is school even in session yet? You think he targeted the Brink family specifically?

No. But maybe he knew families hiked there or something. I think he was looking for a young girl, and the parents perhaps intervened.

The post read: Hello my name is Andrew McGann. I am very excited to join the Dolphin family as a 4th Grade Math and Writing Teacher. I graduated from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) in May with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have been a substitute for the past two years in Tulsa County, Oklahoma and a student teacher for the Spring 2022 semester in Broken Arrow Public Schools in a 4th Grade Math and Science classroom.

This is a year of firsts for me: first year teaching, first year in LISD, and first year living in Texas. I think LISD is an excellent place to build a career and a life for myself as that is my intention in coming here from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

My favorite thing to do in my free time is exercise, specifically, running. I played football, baseball, and rugby in high school so I love sports. I have heard there are some runners in the dolphin family so show me where the good trails are at since I’m in need of a go-to running trail.

I am also a big animal lover. Cats are my favorite animal (my cat Khan in the picture with me), but don’t worry dog moms, I love dogs too! I am honored to be a part of your team and I can’t wait to meet my students/fellow staff. Go Dolphins!

Oh, so there is also a teaching position in Lewis, Texas.

Tulsa OK, Lewis TX, Springdale AR all in the space of 3 years.

It seems it takes only about a year before he gets found out.

Do we know where he is from originally? College?

I was wondering the same. It could be the teaching job in Flower Mound, TX didn’t go well and he left. Maybe went back to OK before getting a job in AR.
Flower Mound has become a high income area with a focus on education and has correspondingly high expectations in regards to teachers.

Problems teachers are going to be identified fast and likely booted quickly unless there is noted improvement.

In short, unlike the vast, scandal prone and constantly understaffed Dallas Independent School District, Flower Mound is not the place for a problem teacher looking for a third chance, looking to loose themselves in a beauracracy, or needing to "find themselves".

Yes, this feels compulsive in nature.
He had to be stopped. Clinton and Cristen did that.

(If the schools had a chance to turn him in to police and didn't, I'm going to be furious.)

I will be interested to hear the details of how law enforcement closed in on this guy. Good job, LEO!

Search Mr McGann Oklahoma and he was hired at Bayyari Elementary in Springdale. The facebook post is removed but the cached result will still display from their school FB page. He goes by Drew.
