In my state right now, we are seeing what seems like at least an arrest a month of teachers for possession of "you-know-what" on their computers. One was even using his students faces and "creating" it using A I. Disgusting. Something has changed recently and they are really going after them. One of the more recent ones had received a prestigious award recently. Another had been let go when allegations were made, but not reported to police! Instead of reporting him, the superintendent gave him a job referral and he was a CPS worker when arrested! These creeps are attracted to jobs with easy access to children.

This guy in Ark. couldn't wait for school to start I guess, so he went hunting for someone's child. People used to seem to make it their job to debunk the stories on SM of people stalking them and their children in public places. It's time to start believing them. This couple lost their lives and their children are forever traumatized. I hope they throw the book at him and then some. JMO.
How terrifying for parents!! Where i live it’s way less, but… is it because there are less or less caught? As a parent myself i think it’s horryfying. I hope it isn’t kid-related, so all parents of kids he ever had can breathe again!!

I think they are blaming the wrong individuals- blaming a podcaster if the public is in the dark??
The proof is in the outcome- Did he go into hiding? No- he went to get a haircut driving the same car!!
LE can’t say the public was instrumental and yet people had tips and no place to share them?
The people who shared tips with LE- did they go to the public and did not know they were not supposed to do so? That sounds like a public information issue!

The tip line was bungled- people were being dismissed. That is on LE- not the public or a podcaster.
If LE does not provide info to the public- no presser until Day 5, someone will fill the void.
No one had any info out until six hours after the murder- even people still in the park had no info.

The Sheriff for the county should have come out and spoken to the public, that is what you do when a murderer is at large… and he isn’t caught for 1, 2, 3, 4 + days.

It is the sheriff that will be held responsible for the public being confused, feeling unsafe, feeling a lack of transparency.

So ASP can rewrite history and say they were on it all along… Nope they didn’t get to the scene for too long and did not get an alert out to the public until late Saturday night and they blamed that on it being a ‘rural location’ with rugged terrain.
The park is 45 min from Fort Smith- not two hours by wagon through mountains and snow.

It would be helpful for LE and Public Officials to remember they work For the public. So if the public is unhappy- they better figure out how to make sure they are. That is simply the way a representative democracy works.

Let’s hope the investigation leads to successful prosecution of alleged suspect and the perp who did this finds himself in a permanent cage.
And- if this guy has a history of predation- which is my guess he does as a perv late twenties.
Someone missed the boat- why was he ever hired at a school?

IMO
100% agree
Believe TB"s first main point was no one at the park was notified of the murders
for a long time after LE knew what happened.
Inexcusable.

PS
That would answer the mystery why there were screams in the park
a full hour after the murders.
No doubt someone or some people saw the bodies

I now believe the guy acted creepy toward the daughters in some way, and the dad went into vigilante justice mode and the perp already on the edge, drew his knife and it escalated from there

Think he went with license plate hidden in case the perviness was caught on camera, think his motive perhaps exposing himself in front of little girls
I don't consider being protective (actively or otherwise) to be vigilantism. Protecting one's self and/or family members is self defense.

If police thought this was spur of moment confrontation that escalated, the charges would be manslaughter not capital murder, right ?

I read this as LE believes this was clearly pre-meditated, although the victims may have been chosen on the spur of the moment.

This looks like a hiring photo- Bayyari Elementary School, Springdale, Arkansas
When was this taken, or did he send them an older photo?
His new job for 2025-2026?
The creepiness keeps getting creepier!

Today's society trains us to ignore our instincts and intuitions and ignore the creepiness. IMO.

Just somewhat random thoughts.

I am not 100% sold that this was an attempted child kidnapping. I agree that it is a plausible scenario but there are so many questions.

Why choose a summer, weekend day in a park well populated with people?
Why choose a family of four? Certainly, common sense says that one person is unlikely to successfully control four people regardless of the demographic.
Why select the trail as a location for the abduction? Even if he was able to take out the parents and grab the child, he had to have a plan to get the victim back to the car. This would mean down the trail to the parking area past other park goers and, possibly, the visitors center( unless the plan was to carry her off into the woods). However, in order for this to be a capital murder I believe that it would have to be tied to another crime i.e. kidnapping, robbery, drug dealing etc.

I think that drug dealing is unlikely.

I suppose robbery could have been a motive but also unlikely as who carries excess cash with them when hiking? He sees a couple with two kids and thinks they will be compliant and not fight back. The situation goes terribly wrong?

Other possibilities:

This was just the random act of a guy who had suffered a mental break. He was looking for anyone that fit a loose ( and perhaps illogical) set of criteria with LE assuming that kidnapping was part of the motive and charged accordingly.

If you look at the database his licenses were in green (or blue, I'm going off memory). But there was a note that all licenses in there color are reciprocity licenses. Arkansas and Oklahoma have some reciprocity for teacher licensure, meaning teachers certified in one state may be able to obtain a license in the other without having to repeat all requirements. So the Oct 2024 date was probably when he got his Oklahoma license. JMO

Wow. He seems to have been trying to assure the easily-obtained reciprocity licenses were all lined up to give him the ability to switch schools without additional expense or delay in getting a job in the next school along the line.

I think he has a feral-type of intelligence underneath his psychopathology. Not a savant=genius, but capable of enough future planning to line up other potential sources of victims via school employment or moving to new small communities where the need for teachers means he gets the job first based on his cutesy profiles, before the stories catch up with him.

He also seems hugely reckless in this attack and as if the compulsion is overwhelming him. It's one thing to plan an abduction of a child, it's another to bring lethal weapons with you and use them brutally on capable adults, in a public space with many other people around.

I predict a contentious mental capacity exam and the real question of whether he can plead out on some kind of insanity charge and end up in a mental hospital.

Well, he was teaching 4th graders so I suspect he was acting out on inner sexual desires. Probably wanted to kill the parents and take off with one of the children.

He was probably stalking the trail looking for a victim. Don't think this was a random confrontation/argument. Who comes hiking to a trail with a knife instead of a gun? (even if you think you need a weapon). Answer: Nobody unless they are looking to do something sinister quietly.

Or who parks in a park with tape over the license plate?

My guess is that he had a Texas plate as he had not yet registered the vehicle in Arkansas.

The big dummy could've stayed home, ordered a clippers over the internet, and gave himself a buzz cut. He is brazen, that's for sure.

I’m glad that he IS that dumb!

have we heard if he had any friends, the real-life kind. i fear he only had creepy online predator 'friends'

jmo
I was wondering this, too! What about family? It will be interesting to learn more about his background. Will he be the guy that people say nice things about and say "I never would have guessed"? I doubt it. Will they speak up about his past interactions or will they be silent?

just now catching up with this news of an arrest. Has it been alleged or suggested by LE that the accused is a pedo or was attempting to snatch or harm the couple's daughters or is that just speculation based on him being an elementary teacher? Sorry I am trying to backread but dang that's a lot of posts to take in since I was on yesterday afternoon. TIA
The question of motive was posed to officials at last night's press conference. Officials declined to speculate or discuss motive.

Running from creep vibes and victims left in his wake- did anyone think to mandatory reporting and kick off an investigation??
I think the answer to your question is in the first part of your question in the form of a statement.

As you stated, he was very likely running from creep vibes. But.... there is no mandatory reporting for creep vibes. And..... officials probably don't want creep vibes serving as the basis for voluntary reporting because creep vibes can be vague and / or subjective.

Rather, mandatory reporting is required in cases where there is evidence of physical or sexual abuse. But.... one can radiate creepiness, and not have any indications that they have committed sexual or physical abuse.

Just insane this alleged (LE have his DNA though) murderer was a "school teacher." Sources are reporting he previously worked as a school teacher at Donald Elementary (Lewisville, TX) school; and resigned after being accused of inappropriate behavior toward children.

-- Why are we not protecting our children yet, again?
-- Why are we passing these sick-O’s on to reoffend somewhere else?
-- Donald Elementary School (DES) needs to be looked at as to why they let this sick person resign only, did they not report him?
-- DES owes it to community, taxpayers and society to report inappropriate behavior toward children (dont ignore) and protect children.
-- These pedophiles dont stop because they are in a different area.
-- No wonder children dont speak up, some adults dont take them seriously.

Marcum told CBS News that, over the course of the school year, her son reported inappropriate behavior by McGann toward the girls in his class. It included being "very touchy with the girls and having them on his lap and making comments to them and keeping them back from recess."

In an email sent to parents in 2023 and shared with CBS News, a school administrator said McGann was placed on leave pending the results of an investigation into "complaints of poor classroom management and poor professional judgment."

"While our investigation did not find any evidence of inappropriate behavior with a student, we did find his classroom management and professional judgment to be below our district's expectations," the email said.

His face looks bruised.

Also is he wearing the smock from the hairdresser?

Good grief he looks scary in this photo also.

I certainly would not pick him out as being a 3rd grade teacher.

What a look, seems like a pitiful coward who is trying desperately to look tough and unphased by his new life situation.
I’m will to bet some dad’s of young daughters in OK, TX, and AR soon will come forward wanting to have a talk with this perv.
He is 28, no way he doesn’t have a history. When little girls who are now 10, 12, 14 see his face they are going to remember and understand that he was a creep.

Hell is hotter for pervs prey on children, and prisoners don’t like them either!
IMO

What strikes me about the mug shot (other than his hair and bruises) is he does not look ashamed, humiliated, or scared - all of which would be normal reactions. He doesn't try to look normal or "innocent."

Instead, he looks really mean.

jmopinion

I think he looks psychiatrically ill, as if lit by some underlying overwhelming drive for violence and severe abuse.

I would like to know where he grew up and under what circumstances. It feels like his condition has been escalating for a long time, long enough to go through college and drive to a very specific employment ( elementary school children, perhaps specifically girls).

Ridiculous!

ABC News confirmed McGann was a teacher for Broken Arrow Public Schools during the 2023-2024 school year. In a statement, the district said he was a fifth grade teacher and left the district during the school year, adding that "he was subjected to and passed the legally required background checks prior to being hired."

If they have any DNA from his cuts/blood at the crime scene and the defense learns of it in discovery, he will try to get a plea deal.
I hope he doesn’t get a plea deal.

And those who knew Clinton and Cristen say they were kind, grounded, full of faith. The kind of people who loved their girls more than anything else.

And so tonight, in the stillness of those woods, a reminder of both unimaginable cruelty and extraordinary love. A mother, a father—who used their final breath not to run but to protect. Their legacy now lives in the two little girls who survived. And in a community determined to carry them forward.

Wonder if the police sketch
Purposely downsized his most notable/prominent feature
His ears
So as to not let this teacher know they had him in their sights
IMO the sketch looks nothing like him…i get they aren’t usually exact matches, but the eyes are a different size shape and width, his distinct pig-like nostrils are missing, the jaw and general face shape is different.

I almost wonder if the witnesses were thinking of someone else, but I kind of doubt there was another lone creepy man with a “death stare” out there
MOO
