IMO: By the time the perp got out the park, the children were at the visitors' center with other adults leading them there. On the way out the perp did not have to go past the visitors' center. The bodies were allegedly found towards the end of the lower trail (with lower elevation, so on the creek side). Lower trail is mentioned in the released audio from first responders.

Devil's den trail is marked orange on the pic below. The visitors' center is in the top left above the orange part. The parking lot further north. There is more than one way to get there.

Thanks, this map is very helpful.

JMO, he was waiting for a young female victim. I think this was a situation that escalated because Clinton interrupted/confronted him about something he was doing or about to do to his girls. He sensed danger just like everyone else who saw this guy in the park that day.

The girls could have been out of eye sight of the parents, when this initially occurred, then came upon him talking to them.
I had wondered about something like this. We know that young children often walk behind or ahead of their parents. Could AM have mistakenly thought they were alone, called them over to him, only to be threatened with a report to park authorities by an outraged father? But why then does LE say the children were not the target?

Not commenting on the diagnosis because I don’t know, I’d like to know why he chose education as the profession?

Aside from women who adore kids and want to be mothers, too often people may choose unsuitable profession due to personal experience. Example: a brilliant young man destined to become an engineer had a nervous breakdown, several years of professional confusion and was saved by a great therapist and now wants to be a therapist. He is shy and his success in the field is questionable but the motivation is clear. He was saved, he wants to do the same.

If you think about a not-so-sociable person choosing the field of a teacher, one wonders, did he have some isolated issue (e.g, dyslexia) and views the teachers as “saviors”? Because he obviously struggles with the social part of school. What pushed him?
From descriptions of conduct at prior schools, he wanted access to young female students, it seems.

My deepest hope for this case is the FBI takes a close look at missing girls or unsolved murders of girls anywhere near where AM has been.
Exactly. I'm convinced this wasn't his first rodeo. He wasn't worried about being caught because he'd gotten away with similar before. in the past he might have grabbed unaccompanied girls - but as time passed he became more brazen.

But why then does LE say the children were not the target?

There are two little girls who witnessed at least their father being stabbed. And those little girls have an older sister- I don’t know her age.
In the Press Conf it was mentioned that they are seeing speculations on social media- and that it is hurting them. I’m not sure a 7 and 9 yr old are on social media- so I assume it is the older sister.
All three lost both parents, so adding a motive such as child abduction may be too much for them to handle? Could the little girls have been watching the presser? I hope not!
Also- LE gave the public no info regarding the investigation to find him. Which I expect.
So if he was a pedo that may have connections to others- I would expect LE to be just as closed lipped regarding that investigation.
You don’t want to turn the light on in the kitchen and let the roaches hide, if you plan to squash them. As they say.

His devices and other evidence may convince LE that he was on the hunt at the park. And if his DNA is new to CODIS, who knows- they may find an unsolved match.

This gets creepier and creepier
News Nation- former FBI Agent worked at district in North Texas where McGann was employed, and her daughter had issues with a pedo teacher

It will be interesting to see what is on his phone/laptop/etc. I'm sure he has certain material on them. Could it lead to more arrests if he's been exchanging? Guess we'll find out.

Excellent thinking! LE often withholds truth and facts from the public so that their investigation can proceed unhindered. Proof is needed. I'm remembering when LE said they had "no idea" where the suspect in the Idaho 4 slayings might be. It was obviously untrue, and the arrest came soon after.

And yes, minor children might be traumatized if it were said that they were in fact the target.

At the risk of overthinking it, the kids were not the target of the knife attack. Maybe it's the literal truth LE is conveying. The crime he is charged with is murder and the kids weren't a target of that.

The motive might involve the girls, but they were not the target of the murders. imo

Ssssso the dude kept rising one red flag after another and all the schools he was employed in did was playing "throw the hot potato". Like "this man is a creep, let's make him someone else's problem". That's not how it should work...
I agree.

And now for several "buts"......

- Criminally charging him would need proof of actual criminal behavior, not just "emits creepy vibes". Evidently, he was never accused of actual criminal conduct.

- Firing him for cause is a possibility (and he may of been fired for cause once or so). But.... consideration to revoke his teaching certificate in TX apparently does not really kick in until three such firings.

And..... firing government employees for cause can be very difficult. Though TX, OK and AR are not exactly NY, CA and IL when it comes to teacher union protection, firings for cause still likely involve rebuttals, appeals etc.

- Terminations via "contract not renewed" or "resigned for personal reasons" are easier and get him gone. But.....There might not be a data base of these types of firings. Thus, OK and AR might not have been aware of the extent of his sudden stage exits.

- Background checks are designed to identify criminal charges / convictions. They may also identify sudden stage exits. But... there is probably not a data base for a "creepy vibes" data base due to fear of libel law suits (criminal charges and being fired for cause are concrete, creepy vibes are not as concrete).

I don't know who was the target or whether there was a planned target, or some other behavior was planned. I get some weird vibes that I can't conceptualize.

Parks and trails often attract exhibitioners. Seeing a group of girls far away, perhaps he got "prepared" and was walking with his "stuff" out and ran into two adults instead? Flashers are usually scared and run away, but if the father saw his face, that turned the father into a witness. Plus, normal men (as well as groups of adult women) would usually get livid with exhibitionists. I can easily see it as the situation when the father of the family got very angry and decided to protect his women, perhaps? Or even yelled, "what do you think you are doing?". Attacking with a knife is less common, but sometimes, it happens.

In short, having seen paraphiliacs in my life (big cities attract them for some reasons), I personally can't shake off that vibe.

That could explain covering his back plate. I also wonder if he his adolescent charges included something of sorts?

It looks like Donald Elementary School in Flower Mound, Lewisville ISD had ‘nearly half of teachers leave the district’ in May of 2022- the year he was hired to fill a position.
Thanks for the clarification regarding the status of Flower Mound ISD (does not exist). Rather, Flower Mound is part of Lewisville ISD.

Wow, Donald Elementary School is in the heart of the high income town of Flower Mound- and they still have retention problems?

This is a far cry from 10 years ago when the starry eyed son of a co worker was trying to get Hired by high standards / high income Coppell ISD. He was told repeatedly "Very few vacancies exist and they are for experienced teachers only- bye".

I think the scolding comments by police were more towards the victim blaming speculation and accusations that it was a hit job, that the parents were involved with drug cartels, the family moved to the area bc the parents were running from a troubled past, etc.

What makes hair curly and then straight, or straight and then curly?
Did he straighten it to be longer over his face,
And then in custody he showered, so it got wet and became curly?

How did it look when he appeared in court? Straight or curly?

IMO
Speaking from years of personal experience and after seeing all the pictures including the arrest and then later mugshot: He has coarse, curly hair that he had attempted to straighten per the pics from the salon. He either used a hair dryer or a flat iron, but he's not accustomed to doing it. It was a bad job of it. HIs hair got wet, probably in the shower at the jail, and is now back to its natural state of very curly. His hair is too curly to simply straighten by combing, FWIW. From watching the video, I assume he wanted it shaved in the back and he was planning to leave the front somewhat or he wanted it trimmed dry. A person with hair that curly would always want it trimmed dry. Trimming hair with that much curl wet makes it prone to be cut way too short, as it shrinks up quite a bit once dry. Ask me how I know! So I wonder if that is how he might usually go in for a cut. Was he making sure it doesn't get cut too short in the front?

In the clips from the court hearing, it was curly on top.

He walked into the salon with that straight, fluffy, brushed-out look. Maybe he brushed it out when it was dry to change his appearance a little. That can make naturally curly or coarse hair look bigger, straighter, and more frizzy.

The first mugshot (straighter hair) was probably taken at ASP headquarters after his initial arrest. By the time he was transported and booked at Washington County, he likely showered or his hair got wet somehow. That second photo shows what looks like his natural curl pattern.. tight curls that show up when curly hair dries undisturbed and unbrushed.

This is just typical curly/coarse hair behavior under different conditions. Anyone with textured hair knows how dramatic that shift can look.

McGann returned to Garfield Ridge two years ago to show his girlfriend the home where he grew up, according to Anthony Morales, a 71-year-old retired CTA maintenance worker who bought the home from the McGann family in 2020.

Morales said, adding that he believed the McGann family lived in the home for at least two decades before selling it to him.

Since Mr Morales ony saw the guy once, I think it's possible that it wasn't Andrew, but his brother who took his girlfriend to see his childhood home. The house in question is pictured in the article.

I think it's safe to say that if Mr. Morales hadn't already see the news about Andrew that the reporters showed him a picture to verify. There is no mistaking his brother for Andrew once a picture of either of them has been seen.

The original reporting on this came from WGN-TV, which is a pretty big Chicago station, so they tend to get their facts straight. The primary reporter on the article who would have been the one interviewing Mr. Morale is bilingual, reducing any potential language confusion.

I think a particular podcaster who came out with exclusive and sensitive information was alluded to in the presser. He did not peddle conspiracies though. The podcaster in question felt being called out and reacted to it.

I suspect that there may have been less behavior than "creepy vibes", but the vibes were so "creepy" that the school districts had to inflate some vague behaviors as the reason for firing him. You can't fire anyone for "odd affect", but the other teachers might have felt that something was "off". Favoritism is a broad term; I yet have to meet the teacher that didn't have favorites. The most common would be not so much pretty girls but "a smart teacher who likes to teach smart kids." It is not abnormal by me.

So I wouldn't be surprised if his "off" school behavior was slightly inflated and the true reason for changing schools was not them "passing off the trash" but the opposite, "god knows what stands behind this weird affect."

I would think having students sit on your lap when alone with them in the classroom (or at any other time) would be a no-no. Telling students that you would date them is another example. He did both.
His favoritism consisted of giving candy and drinks only to girls; helping students, but only girls.
