State board member calls for review

"So, it really does seem like that the ball was dropped here," said Brandon Hall, a member of the Texas State Board of Education representing District 11.

Hall said the case highlights a gap in the system, noting that because McGann wasn't charged with a crime, nothing appeared on his teaching record, making it easier for him to be hired again.

"And so a thorough investigation needs to take place. What red flags were seen that prompted that investigation in Lewisville ISD?" Hall added.

Hall said Texas has passed laws to improve educator reporting, including Senate Bill 571, which was signed into law in May. The legislation expanded access to the state's Do Not Hire registries and strengthened the Texas Education Agency's authority to investigate misconduct.

McGann was hired to teach fifth grade at Spring Creek Elementary in Oklahoma – which told The Post that a thorough background check turned up nothing to indicate he shouldn’t be hired.

“As with all district employees, McGann underwent and passed all legally required national background checks,” the school district said in a statement, adding that no alarms were raised during his interview and that there was never reason to discipline him during his tenure.

Curious about how messed up this perp may have been prior to the murders ?
It's been fairly silent from possible acquaintances/friends.... assuming he had those.
Anyone getting a B. Kohberger vibe from AJM ?
Loner socially, that people avoided after a few first encounters ?
Imo.

Yes, and maybe keeping up that chameleon switch back and forth becomes taxing.
It is possible AJM was not longer able to keep it up, the smiles, the openness, the personable facade.

We have to also realize that if AJM is fueled by personal interactions with young girls, then online images may not work for him.
He may not have had a fix since May.

Another possibility is a digital image was something that inspired him. imo

Finally, a post with facts. It is also important to remember that the pedo accusations came from ONE family (the Polyaks). Personally, I don't buy the pedo angle. I think he is psychotic (not that you can't be both, however).

Do you have a theory why he carried the big, empty (or near empty) duffle bag?

Because the school only asserted "poor professional judgment" without any substantial allegations, and also because thus far there have been no law enforcement statements about nefarious child content on his devices, it's up in the air. Although there are definitely indicators.
Time will tell.

BBM. That is not true. At least two mothers of boys from the same Texas school went to the media about it. It was also mentioned that the parents of the girls that were targeted reported the inappropriate behavior to the school.

Here is Sierra Marcum describing what her son saw and heard:

Teacher isolating a girl, making (or letting) her sit on his lap and telling her he'd marry/date her is not innocent in any context.

I think the content on the devices is there, imo, but with the perp behind bars, there is not immediate rush. LE can take time to examine and then press charges (assuming they find CSAM).

And the families of the girls might not be coming forward in public because they don't want to call attention to their girls, imo. They might be providing information to LE that we don't know about.

There are plenty of facts, in the interviews and articles. What would be the motive for parents of 9-10 year olds other than to protect their children and other people’s children?

New York Post- Exclusive Devil’s Den murder suspect
By May of 2023, parents of girls affected had been going to the school and district with allegations of him tickling and asking girls to sit on his lap, giving treats, and praising their looks. By the end of the school year, McGann was placed on administrative leave” Parent L Polyak

News Nation- Interview of mom whose son was in McGann’s class on Fridays
parents of girls who were in his class, and felt like their daughters were being groomed, went to the district” Parent L Polyak

WFAA News Full Interview with a boy in McGann’s class at Donald Elementary 2022-23
She filed complaints against him based on what her son and other classmates were saying was repeated happening in class that made him uncomfortable and he was scared to get anyone in trouble. “Mr McGann was very touchy and showed a lot of favoritism to certain girls, and when they would go out for recess he would choose one of those girls to stay behind…and when they would come back from recess he would have the little girl in his lap.” “Mr McGann told one of the little girls, if you were older I would love to marry you.” Parent S Marcum

Parent took action by going to the principal with a list of names of other students who had witnessed the events, as well as names of the little girls who were being singled out. TJM was put on administrative leave then given the option to resign.

I think these moms are very brave for coming forward to national media.
While it may seem irrelevant because he has now murdered two people, it could be relevant in at least these ways.

Motivations for murder
It is relevant if considering motivations for those murders, in the presence of two little girls who are the ages of students he taught and would be teaching.

Identifying possible victims so they can receive justice
It is relevant to the families, who likely are currently trying to figure out if something took place with their child a few years ago, a year ago, or last year.

Making changes in hiring processes for elementary teachers

Absolutely, for events that happened during a 5th grade class 2022-2023
These little girls would now be 12-14 years old.

That is an age where they are beginning to understand how creepy it was, and likely are quite confused. They may have even come home and told their parents they liked him, he was their favorite teacher. Now they are realizing why they were given candy or Sonic drinks.

I would be curious to find out if TJM used his cell phone during class, took videos of kids or pictures of kids. Some schools have internal social media- left over from covid, so the parents can get an eye into the classroom during the day.
Did he post things there? And take other images/ videos for his own use?

Remember he murdered two parents of little girls, who were in a remote forested area of a park without cell phone access. He was dressed in all black, with a knife, and had a duffle bag that in my estimate is three feet long and 1 foot wide.

Pretty creepy

I don't know the answer.

BUT I have a question: Did he book one of these cabins in the park perhaps:
  • One Bedroom Cabins - #1, 2, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18
You are guessing my line of thoughts ......

I don’t think he rented a cabin. Those usually book up well in advance, especially in late July, so he would’ve needed to plan the trip pretty far ahead.

IMO, it seems more likely he was just there for the day rather than staying overnight.

He lived not too far away. Seems an unnecessary expense to rent a cabin in a park when you live so close. (Yes, I realize there will be examples of people who do that. I don't think this perp was one of them.)

And that wouldn't explain carrying around a bag on a super hot day in the park. If he had a cabin, why carry around the bag? And since we know he drove and had a place to keep things, why carry around a bag?

The bag is a big clue, imo. Of course, we don't know for sure why he carried it, but it's reasonable to speculate. It wasn't a fanny pack to hold his car key, for instance.

ETA: This video has now been posted multiple times.

Former FBI and CIA Agent Tracy Walder discusses how this “passing the trash” of teachers is a nationwide epidemic and she explains the desperate need for laws to stop troubled teachers from simply getting jobs in different states.

The guest speculates that the perp killed the parents because he planned to molest (but not kill) the daughters. He did not have regular access to children during the summer break.

Five years ago, Tracy Walder herself reported a male teacher at her daughter's school, which was in the same Texas district where AM worked. She met a lot of resistance. That perp turned out to be a child predator and is behind bars now. Incriminating materials were found in his possession. We'll see if something similar happens here.

When listening to the dispatcher of first responders, you can tell it is a remote area, described as having tough terrain, they are having trouble locating the victims.

He may have known of the remote areas of the park
No cell service
Near Ozark National Forest - which his over 1.2 million acres of forest

I too am struggling to figure out what his end game may have been, other than to harm a child there, or take one home?
Maybe not so well thought out, he did drive to the hairdresser during a manhunt.

Snipped for focus
It does seem something more than just simple coincidence, that his victims had 2 little girls in this age range with them.
