Ok so you are suggesting brain trauma causing scaring causes personality changes and also urges toward violence- not coupled with anger?
I watched my dad face years of challenges after a massive stroke, which can be different for everyone impacted.

And these urges are able to be controlled or not?
We have no heard of any outbursts or urges to kill from AJMs past.
So a recent brain change- or urges that allow for ours of preparation before they kick in?

I’m not seeing how this would fit.
He planned, dressed, took a knife, and drove 40 min to the park
He appears to have arrived with a violent purpose in mind.
He is described as behaving odd, is alone, not interacting with people.

Maybe I’m not understanding the nature of the urges, how often or how long the last and if a person comes out of them with rational thoughts or if they remain irrational.

IMO
Agree that stroke (brain trauma) changes people. There are some who have unrecognized mini strokes, not even known to the person. And, recovery can mean different things.

Yet he wanted to be a teacher at some point. He worked as a student teacher and as a substitute teacher prior to graduating. If he hated his work, why not try another profession or a job? IIRC, he wasn't connecting with his fellow students in college either, despite being sociable enough in high school.
I think a lot people are forgetting how out of his element he was in college. AJM went to an all-boys high school. He also spent considerable time outside of school playing rugby and other sports. He then picked a college major that was majority female. He likely didn't have adequate experience socializing with female peers.

Didn't someone here post that Fenwick wasn't an all-boys school?

Actually, Fenwick went coed in 1992, the first year girls matriculated. AJM graduated from there 2015. So while he was there it was a coed school.

This is false. He did not attend an all-boys high school. So I guess this diagnosis is moot?

Is it usual for the police departments working on a case to not be allowed to make public statements about it?

Statements from agencies such as, "We will not comment on an ongoing investigation" are not unusual, in my observation.

But are they usually doing that by choice, or because of a court order?

Doesn't it seem they are likely doing that because of their own agency's policy? It makes sense to me they've learned the hard way over many years how often early statements have led to embarrassment and even problems in court. A closed mouth gathers no crow-eating later.

They're not working on the case any more though, they've solved it.

IMO, they all know they shouldn't comment when a case is up for trial, this is just reinforcing the importance, in light of the intense competition amongst news and social media reporting, and possibly also a message to channels to not even ask for comments and opinions.

However, it's really the defense that tries to stir up the public, and we haven't heard anything from them yet.

Thank you for this link content. I love dissecting lists of agencies involved, because it can say something, maybe.

I've reduced the list of agencies affected by this gag order to three I find intriguing. Perhaps OPs can dispell my curiosity.

1. The CSC of Washington County. Their involvement may simply be to protect the two young children affected by this tragedy going forward. Or could it involve something directly related to AJM's crime and perhaps a focus on the girls??

2. Elkins and Fayetteville Police Depts. These are NOT the towns where the crime occurred, where AJM lived, or where he was arrested. So why are they involved?

IMO.
