It looks like he is wearing a backpack and a duffel bag. If you zoom in you can see the duffel bag strap around his shoulder. The backpack straps are separate.
Good eye. Yes, they are two separate pieces. And both seem to be empty or close to being empty.

So on a summer day in July, he goes to a park wearing black long sleeves and black long pants and carrying two sturdy black bags.

For what reason?

I've had a nagging feeling the father was protecting his family against someone creepy and I feel it even more now. imo

ARKANSAS STATE POLICE RELEASE NEW PHOTO OF PERSON OF INTEREST IN DEVIL’S DEN DOUBLE HOMICIDE; PUBLIC URGED TO HELP IDENTIFY MAN
July 29, 2025

WEST FORK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) investigators have released a new photo to accompany a previously-released composite sketch of a man they are seeking to identify for questioning in connection with the double homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Devil’s Den State Park. Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were fatally attacked while hiking with their two daughters, who were unharmed and are now safe with family.

If you have any information, you are urged to call the ASP tip line at (501) 618-TIPS or submit a tip through the online form at: Police, Arkansas State (ASP).

The wanted man is described as a white male of medium build, last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt (with sleeves rolled up), dark pants, a dark baseball cap, and sunglasses. He was carrying a black backpack, wearing fingerless gloves, and may have sustained an injury during the attack.

Witnesses observed him leaving the area in a black, four-door sedan — possibly a Mazda — with its license plate obscured by tape, traveling towards State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.

What the Public Can Do:
If you were at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, please review any photos, videos, or GoPro camera footage for images of the person of interest or the described vehicle.

Local residents: Check security or game camera footage for any unusual activity or matching vehicle.

Do not post evidence online: Instead, preserve the original files and submit information to ASP.

ASP is actively following all leads and working around the clock to resolve the case and protect public safety.

What is hanging at his knees? Is it a coat of some type, did he wrap a garment around his waist?
It also appears from the release that he injured himself during the attack. I'm sure hospitals and urgent cares, doctors, etc. are on notice.

Seems like a heavy-duty duffle bag style backpack....with little or nothing in it.

Why did he need that?

Maybe he wanted to shove a kid in it? The Night Stalker shoved a kid in a duffel bag. 😳

Strange clothing during a huge heat wave, along the the weird empty bag.

Maybe somebody took this picture because this person had been acting strange.

Also, those don’t look like hiking boots.
Agree about the shoes. But, they do look waterproof IMO.

I admit, that's where my mind went right away.

It looks like he is wearing a backpack and a duffel bag. If you zoom in you can see the duffel bag strap around his shoulder. The backpack straps are separate.

GHI played the audio of the YouTuber who is local, who interviewed the group of four who saw him.
Descriptions I’m seeing on the news do not have those details, but the drawing looks like what they described.

Regarding the Photo-
Yes I too see a backpack and a duffle bag with stripes on the end and a rectangular white patch in the center.
And I think I’m seeing a black long sleeve t-shirt or sweat shirt with light blue square design on the back. There is skin between the shirt and a black scarf or something around his neck.
The cap is not black or red, it is tan at least in the back.
Black long pants and two tone brown shoes with rubber soles.

That young man who called in to the show described him wearing a sport bag of some kind that was mesh and vinyl together.
I’ve seen those bags used for PE equipment, bats and balls and such. That seems to be the squarish thing hanging down.

He is light complected- hair is brown, and cut around the ears.
He has a balding spot barely visible in the back of the cap.
Heavy set/ stocky guy- got a dip between shoulders- and I’d bet that is a hairy back.

Late twenties or thirties- due to balding.

I’m not seeing any updates on the news, frustrating.
Any word of Press Conference?

Please get this guy in custody! If this happened Sat 2-2:30 it has almost been 72 hours.
IMO

Speaking as a hiker and not a mountain biker, it is difficult for hikers and mountain bikers to share the same trails in some areas.

I'm always the one stepping off the trail to let mountain bikers through. Some are polite and doing a moderate speed. Some are devils on two wheels and make no bones about wishing hikers were not stopping them from death-defying speeds.

I really do prefer to hike in places where the two don't share the same path, if at all possible.

Perhaps an overenthusiastic mountain biker who got fed up with slowpokes on the trails.

Just putting it out there as a thought.
Valid point. Even if you take mountain biking out of the equation, a hiker that doesnt follow simple trail etiquette by walking single file when passing by another hiker in the opposite direction can set someone off. Doesnt take much nowadays. Not saying thats the case here. jmo

EXCELLENT! Someone was smart enough to take a picture of the weird guy. Must have been the man and his wife that met him face to face on the trails and were talking to a youtuber yesterday.

This is a HUGE development. Someone will recognize him!

It is possible that he was picking up something that had been stashed in the woods to put in the duffle. That's why he isn't disheveled, and is turned to face away from the trail so as not to have his face seen.

Fingers crossed somebody will recognise him.

I wonder who took this photo - it seems pretty close up to him and I doubt it’s CCTV as that would capture him turning around and get his face.

The bag is a strange one it looks like a hold bag but he has put straps on it for his back - it looks pretty empty.

There was a youtube video I saw yesterday a guy and his wife hiking and he described this person to the T with the odd dufflebag and the ball cap. I'll bet it was him. They both thought the dude was weird and out of place and they must have taken a picture jsut in case.

Well done!

I thought something was hanging at his knees too, but it's just a tree.

I think the perp has visited this park several times, probably within the last month. I hope there might be CCTV of an entrance or parking kiosk, or of a close-by traffic camera.
Seems he may have stalked the trail or perhaps be familiar with it.

The black thing around the neck looks like a large black scarf, not a face mask or one of those cooling collars.

This could be something you would wrap around whatever you intended to put in the duffel bag, so it wouldn't be visible or draw attention.

I hope so. But, I'm having flashbacks to the video of Bridge Guy in Delphi. There was confidence that someone would surely recognize him. But, nope, nobody ID'd him.

Fingers crossed this case develops differently.

I feel like the duffel bag is too small to put the average 7 or 9 year old female child into. That would be a very conspicuous large full bag to carry and look very out of place, even for a backpacker. Someone with a large frame backpack might not be as conspicuous, and that would be a better way to carry a larger load.

This would seem to be an extremely clumsy way to abduct a child.

It makes more sense that the duffel is to put his bloody clothes into and he is deliberately wearing a large black coat with a square blue image on the back, with the other clothes underneath.

I don’t paint cars but could people use the electrical tape for painting cars? Like keeping lines straight. The cheap or ghetto way?..
I dont know for sure, but I don't think so.

Rather, I could seem them using high quality painter's masking tape. The house painters that I have seen seem to prefer the Frog brand tape.

In the end, even inexpensive electrical tape costs given that you don't get a lot on the roll. One would need a lot to mask large objects. Professional grade electrical tape would make masking large objects that much more expensive.
