I'm thinking no. The shoes on the POI picture have a distinctive sole. I was thinking Oboz or Merrell or Keen, but no current shoes of those brands have that really thick heel wrap. It almost looks like it's from the late 90s, early 2000s.

But here is a rear view of an Oboz Bridger MId and it's not right, either.

YES! I was thinking the same thing.

I too see something that looks a bit like gaiters, or maybe short ankle hiking boots unlaced in the front spread open to dry out?
The pants are crumpled up, and different from one side the other- like he tucked the bottom of his pants down into the boots to walk through shallow water?

Or maybe those are wading pants with the boots built into them, or pants pulled down over boot tops but the pants are too long?

I don’t know, dammmit

IMO

I think the same. IMO the target were the girls.
Family reported they died as heroes, defending their girls.
Imo I think the police would release if they had reasons to believe the two young girls were the target of an abduction or something. I think they would have a duty of care to the public.

It makes the situation even more serious if this guy is a murderer AND a potential child abductor.

JMO. Looking at what we can see of the pack, I thought hydration too, but the only ones I know of that come together and then split again above the pack are the ones that advertise to shift the weight to the lumbar, and I couldn't find one currently for sale with padded straps. It could of course be a small brand, or an older model. Ex of the style: Epic 10.3 Lumbar Hydration Pack for Mountain Biking

CamelBak Solstice 10 LR Hydration Pack — SALE

However, while I was poking around, I found something called a motocross harness, some version of which might explain the straps, and whatever is going on in the hip area, and the fingerless gloves. Apecat 9L Harness

It could be a trick of the eye, but it looks like there’s a yellow Vibram logo quite high up on the heel of the suspect’s boot. I agree I don’t see it matching current styles, or at least common ones.

I could totally be reading into this, but I feel that the family’s statement that Clinton and Cristen ‘died heroes, protecting their little girls’ is telling. IMO this was likely a Delphi-style creep or someone like Craig Ross Jr, who kidnapped and assaulted a 9 year old opportunistically in 2023 while she was biking at a campground. The only thing that throws a ‘wrench’ in that idea for me is the presence of the parents. I guess time will tell. This is seriously horrible. It feels more and more to me that in the US, there’s no where we can go that is truly safe. Not our place of work, not a restaurant or club, and not even our beautiful parks. I’ve gone from being extremely reluctant to carry my firearm, to carrying it almost everywhere I go. What a world. MOO.
Agree that it's a frightening every day world. Grocery shopping? Church? Theaters? Concerts? Restaurants? Bar? Work? More. Unfortunately, there are few alternatives to living a normal life. Firearms might work - depends on circumstances. I am always fearful of others carrying and mistaking criminal for regular people.

Maybe he was involved in some other kind of trafficking other than children.
He could have been there to pick up a prearranged drop of drugs or something which is why he had an empty duffle/backpack thing.
If the Brinks stumbled upon the drop about the time he showed up, he may have killed them for that. He then puts the drop in his bag and leaves.
Also would explain the taped over license plate.
Just another thought.
Like your idea.

Surely there are easier targets than a child with both parents present in a remote location where you would need to hike out with the child or hike the child to the secondary location. Either way hiking out carrying a child at Devil's Den seems far fetched as I have personally been there with my children. People that haven't hike NWA rarely understand the elevation change on the trails are harder than most people think would be there are know switchbacks on most the teails its straightup over the mountain/ hill. Is it doable to hike out with a 60ish pound bag, for sure, but it is not easy and it would have taken much longer to hike out. Also, there is absolutely no garrentee a child that the perp wants would be present in the state park to abduct? If a child was the target. There are so many easier targets the suspect could have chosen. No need to go out into the woods to wait for the right little girl. IMO

Hopefully they find the suspect asap!

Im curious if others on the trial have seen him prior to the murders of Clinton D. and Cristen A. Brink? He would stand out as an oddball to me if I saw him on the trails. Not the usual hiker look. Nothing about his items appear to be military either. Thoughts? jmo

State police have fielded “numerous tips,” but spokesman Nick Genty warned would‑be sleuths not to post potential evidence online lest it hamper the investigation.

“We’re just really hoping that anybody who captured any video or pictures or anything suspicious, just let us know,” Genty told the AP. “We’re investigating any and all tips that we get.”

Anyone who hiked Devil’s Den on Saturday — or residents along Highways 170 and 220 with security‑camera footage—are encouraged to contact investigators.

Agreed the clothing made the suspect look like an oddball. The clothing the suspect had on would definitely stick out in July. I have hiked in the same areas in the winter and wore less clothing than what the suspect had on in July.

Yes to the first question, but since the interview with some of them isn't from an approved source, we can't discuss it.

Is this North Face t-shirt the shirt?
IMG_8469.webp

Doesn’t have the four pointed star on the right sleeve. Or is that a stain looking like one?

Witnesses observed him leaving the area in a black, four-door sedan — possibly a Mazda — with its license plate obscured by tape, traveling towards State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.

What the Public Can Do:

  • If you were at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26, please review any photos, videos, or GoPro camera footage for images of the person of interest or the described vehicle.
  • Local residents: Check security or game camera footage for any unusual activity or matching vehicle.
  • Do not post evidence online: Instead, preserve the original files and submit information to ASP.
ASP is actively following all leads and working around the clock to resolve the case and protect public safety.

ASP thanks the public for their assistance and urges anyone with any information — no matter how minor — to come forward immediately.

Not sure what you mean, but what I see on his right tricep is, I believe, a handle of the dufflebag.
