Here's a close up pic of the bag. The logo is more visible but still not legible for me. Anyone able to enlarge it? I will try again. TIA

A manhunt is underway in Arkansas for a suspect believed to have fatally attacked Clinton & Cristen Brink while they hiked with their 2 young daughters at Devil’s Den State Park. Authorities say the killer likely sustained injuries during the assault & released a composite sketch of a white male seen in the area—medium build, dark clothing, fingerless gloves & a black backpack.

The person's stance looks female to me.

You aren’t the first person to say that, I think it may be the huge bag hanging down that looks like a skirt or kilt?

I’m pretty sure it is this bag, but up and down. The stripes are high on the LEFT and low on the RIGHT, and it is sagging over. The clear slot for the ID is on the end of the bag. Which is on the top here.
I sent in a tip via email- interesting what a pain it was to fill it out. There is no email sent to you saying they received the tip. That means some people will send twice.
Between their phone line and less than wonderful website for tips- they are missing a lot of info or getting it slowly. Frustrating

Looking at the sketch now, after seeing the photo, you can see the witness did notice the backpack/duffle over his shoulders. That stood out in memory.

A guy wearing a backpack on the trail doesn't stand out, but this guy and his attire stood out.

If he was intending to blend, he didn’t. I’m not sure what to make of that.
Lack of self awareness?
Doesn’t give a crap what people think?
Didn’t know Arkansas in the summer was hot?
Covering up tattoos?
Thought he needed ten gallons of water? And drank all of them?

Well thanks for trying anyway!!

It was conjecture from supposed comments made by a relative. I think I pointed out a few times in this thread that it was just a rumor and nothing valid. Others did too. It never really made much sense.

I meant this, pointed out by another sleuth here (sorry don’t find the post). But it’s possible it’s the strap & how the light catches it…
I wondered if that was some kind of weapon glinting hence him turning his back to conceal it

Oh I got the tip in- but it makes you fill out info about a person first. It won’t let you leave anything blank.
So how is a person going to fill out a tip about a person and know all of the answers to all of those questions that are mandatory? I put NA in all of those blanks and it worked.
Doesn’t make sense.

Here is the form
Arkansas State Police Tip Line

Edit- I see now you can collapse a section by hitting the red X. Oh well, didn’t notice that earlier.

Glad the FBI is now there because the local LE response is leaving a lot to be desired. I do not understand some of their decision-making.

Very good. The top looks exactly right, with the piping and handle and ID slot. I think you are right about where the stripes fall.
XXL Hockey Duffle- Absolutely terrifying. That man was out to take a child 100%. The children were saved, but the parents paid the ultimate price.
*my opinion.

I haven't listened yet but GH devoted this whole podcast to this case.

Quick note: he corrected himself in the comments but he opens by mistakingly referring to the assailant as shooter. Because he has the NY shooter in mind.

1 hr 45 min. 1.5x playback speed can be your friend.

If it is that bag you could definitely put a kid in it.
It is 35” x 18” x 18”
Which means with a little imagination you may be able to figure out how tall he is against it?
Not sure

If it is nearly a yard long end to end.
And it hangs to about his knees, but is slumped over a the top.
That means he is about a yard from knees to shoulders.

I am almost six foot, and I’m about a yard from knees to shoulders.
The young man in the group said he thought he was his same height- about 6’.
Quite possible- he can’t be hugely different than that.

Agree with the thoughts on the duffle bag and the day pack (my words….. sorry late here). And my eyes don’t help on the logo unfortunately…..

Has it been mentioned of the distinctive marking or possible scene? depicted on the back of the black shirt or T-shirt? It almost IMO looks like a silk screen type imagery or something? Light blue and white in part? If the case, unfortunate that more of that is not visible in this image. It seems unusual IMO?

Also agree with a much earlier post that this individual appears to have a scarf or similar around the neck. Probably used it to cover or shield part of the face at some times? MOO

Possibly avoiding tick exposure.
And socks snagging on underbrush, and chiggers are hellacious there, and possibly avoiding leaving dna trace through blood droplets from bramble snags on legs and generally protecting every possible point of exposure to fight-back struggle leaving dna trace. The fingerless gloves may be covering telltale tats.

However, if he hadn't dressed so weirdly and just acted casual, probably no one would have noticed any tats..

Yes it was identified in post #449 as a North Face t-shirt

Using the boxing promotion term "Tales of the tape" for reach, height, weight etc. comparisons....

A photo of the suspects car seems to indicate that the tape job over the license plate is neatly done and the tape color is not black.

Discount electrical tape is almost always black and as its inexpensive, its really too thin. It tends to fold over on itself when it breaks off the roll leaving folded over "tails" of the torn piece.

Getting to the point, discount electrical tape is hard to tear neatly. Given the apparent neat tears and non black tape in the photo, if he used electrical tape, it was likely the quality variety.
Maybe used scissors? Or knife?

Also coukd be for preventing sweat droplets that could leave dna and/or for covering up identifying body tats. I figure the fingerless gloves were purposed for that. That was a BIG, not really built for hiking pleasure, backpack to be carrying. A BIG drop would be my guess for his multiple coverups and taped license plate. He didnt even really bother to dress and gear up like a credible outdoors hiker.
