As a total aside
Indulge me
I'm the poster who started the whole "recognize eye color in a passing stranger" tangent
I realized why I don't do the eye contact thing - and never have
I grew up in and around New York City
You are raised to avoid eye contact with strangers
So as to not provoke any monkey business if s/he is a little you know what
A little you know what- meaning nuts?
I’m laughing as that makes a lot more sense now.
When I go to conferences in the northeast I may speak to strangers as I would in Texas. So I may talk to someone at the airport or on the plane, the Lift driver. The looks I get are of confusion, I never knew it was because they thought I was crazy, or going to attack them.
I thought it was my accent.
Nice to know, not that I plan on being different. That is pretty darn funny, so I must be a little ‘you know what’, lol
Arkansas is a southern state- so it would feel odd to most people. I think?
IMO
