Starting at 8:30 tomorrow?
I think they are wrapping it up.

I'm just really surprised that we haven't heard about the jury asking any questions or asking to have testimony read back or anything like that. Usually the public is privy to those things or it's reported on.

#McStay - Jurors have gone home for the evening. They will deliberate tomorrow. Return time is 8:30 a.m. PT. They deliberated for 5 hours today bringing the total to approximately 22 hours of deliberations.

Again, if they didn't care about this case they would hurry up and come up with a verdict.

I really don't understand the criticism that they aren't going faster. If they didn't care and were "lazy", they'd just come up with a verdict and be done with it.

The schedule may not be a full time job schedule but once again, this is a very heavy case involving the murder of two kids. It's a lot of data. They need a lot of breaks.

I remember a secretary complaining (in front of me) once when I was a young law student intern at the FPD that my morning and afternoon breaks were half and hour and hers were only 15 minutes.

The supervising attorney told her that she wasn't doing the intensely heavy work we were doing. We really need those breaks because it's so dense.

This is dense stuff they're doing. Many juries feel they can plow through but many juries also have it all fresh in their heads because it doesn't last as long as this trial.

I say give them a break.
I’m moving on to other topics .

That was my first thought, then my second one was, they are probably coming early so they can justify stopping at noon tomorrow.

Can you ask her to please post those?

Hmmm, I'm going with the jury announcing on June 13th. Death penalty case may take longer to assess guilt or innocence than lesser offenses.

There were stipulations agreed to by the DT & PT in one of the last two videos I posted , that most of it would be done by the judge ( or clerk?) unless there was a question that would require discission beyond an agreed upon answer.
This was something else I’ve never seen before.

Good point—and I think the thread discussion at the time made the point that we’d probably not know when the jury requested something, and what they requested.

You must not live in So. California. The traffic is horrendous.
When I need to go anywhere, I know my time window is between 1 and 2 pm.
Otherwise, your travel time will minimally double.

Do the jurors not live locally? It's been so long I don't remember. If they live locally there shouldn't be traffic to beat. If they don't live locally they aren't going to beat any traffic by leaving the room at 3:47. (So leaving courthouse about 4.)

He took the 5th??

The tweet said Wallace pleaded the 5th.

Unless she actually posts the affidavits, I will be somewhat cautious with her tweets. She has been known to get it wrong a few times the last few months... I appreciate the updates since they are all we have, but it's important to get it right too lol JMO

I have to wonder if the strange hours the jury has been taking is due to something unusual.

Like maybe one of the jurors has a medical issue that needs special attention and the juror wants to stick it out and is being accommodated by the other jurors.

Or maybe something really bizarre like when they first started deliberating maybe there were two people that had their hearts set on being the jury foreman and maybe there was some kind of heated argument which has caused this disruption as they try to settle into a process. I think selecting a foreman is one of the first things a jury usually does so maybe that has caused some kind of distraction and its taking them a bit to settle down.

I have no idea but I do agree with others that on the surface it seems rather unusual to me. Maybe they are back on a more normal track with the 8:30 a.m. planned start tomorrow.
