Closing Arguments- thread #172

You know, Tanisha doesn't usually crack during testimony. She's wearing her fierce face and I understand. But today when the camera panned and she was bawling, my heart dropped.

And The Butcher of Mesa sits scribbling, flipping her hair and looking disinterested.

Scribble on you murdering beast. They're prepping that table for you right now.

I have to disagree. I do not think that anyone, much less Jodi's grandmother, could have really known the true capabilities of Jodi's sociopathic/BP disordered mindset before she killed Travis. I feel sorry for both families. Jodi has caused a lot of pain for so many ...on both sides of the aisle. She is the one on trial here, not her grandmother, not her mother, not her sister etc...Jodi committed the crime.

I think grandma see's it , but well she is grandma. Much like my Nana saw my sister's true self but babied her because *she had no one else*. Well that was because she alienated everyone. As for her mom..she is in denial. much like my parents are. But my other sister and I know what the bad seed is capable of.

I don't need to be an attorney to come to my very common sense opinion about JW's conduct in this case:

I started to count how many times JW rolled her eyes, shook her head, etc.. during JM's opening...I stopped counting. It's bad enough seeing the defendant behave in this manner.

It's IMO unprofessional, immature and sets a horrible example for those who have chosen to be defense attorney as their profession. I cannot convey how strongly I feel about Ms. Wilmot's conduct. Her behavior has nothing, not one thing, to do with the oath she took nor does it have anything to do with advocating for her client. She is acting like an elementary school girl.
Nor does it have anything to do with having little to work with in this case, bull-oney-say I.

Sorry for the rant, I needed to get this out of my system.

I'm going to attempt to focus on the following:

One step closer to justice for the Alexander Family and friends.

That should have been her reaction to the first day of trial!!!! Maybe she's like her daughter--the only important pain is her own. What about Travis' family across the aisle? What about wearing Domestic Violence ribbons? :banghead:
Wake up, ladies.

ITA. I have thought something along the lines of BPD for her mother since the first couple times I tuned into to this trial. Oddly focused at indiscriminant times, barely moving in her seat, yet strangely aloof as if she's there but not. Not scary but just different I guess. Almost like “I’m her mom I told her I’d love her no matter what she ever did in life so I’m gonna support her now.” Which is admirable but the public display of support for victims of DV leaves a bad taste in my mouth too.

I want JM to drive the overkill hard into the juror's minds. HARD. Sorry jury but it needs to be done.

I need him to slam on the desk like he did earlier. :floorlaugh:
But his man is a brilliant speaker. He really keeps you captivated.

the weekend post is what Jeff Gold posted on Twitter....just passing along peeps

There's a whole lot of people who don't know all that much about this case - they know some but they're not obsessed like us.

The movie can show all the stuff never in evidence, e.g. the tire slashing, the confrontation between Jodi & that woman in the bathroom. But does anyone who sold the rights to the story to Lifetime - who is controlling the content? Is it Jodi's team? Or Travis' family?

I had lunch this past Sunday with a g/f and she had never heard the name Jodi Arias or Travis Alexander. And she travels all over the state of CA on business.

Question:

Was the back license plate turned upside down or the front? I thought the front was taken off by the "hoard of skateboarders" and she accidentally put it on upside down? Now I'm understanding that the back was upside down and the front was not on the car at all when she got pulled over? Is that right?

I never realized that when she got stopped in Utah, the officer noticed that she had a plate inside the car! He/She must have reported on this so that's why she had to make this particular lie so elaborate!

:blushing:

JVM on HLN again....
JVM is standing in her HLN AFTER DARK mock courtroom that is set up outside right in front of the AZ Courthouse yelling about the special 2 hour show tonight complete with mock jury. Something has got to stop HLN before they cause a mistrial!!

What is absolutly amazing is that Juan is doing all this from memory...

Juan is an elephant... he never forgets!

Ok I get JA making crazy eye stares at Juan but I am really tired of the disrespectful way JW behaves in court. Rolling her eyes, smirking and shaking her head.

Where's Basilcat? :sleuth:
Its 5 pm in Nova Scotia!!!
:toast:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: never ever make ribs on closing argument day...although the amber ale I added tasted good going down!!! Cheers...

can anyone point me to the "I returned the gas can" testimony?

If you're wondering whether or not the Killer said she returned the gas can to the Selinas WalMart she answered Juan's question as YES...WHACK to JA

That should have been her reaction to the first day of trial!!!! Maybe she's like her daughter--the only important pain is her own. What about Travis' family across the aisle? What about wearing Domestic Violence ribbons? :banghead:
Wake up, ladies.

I am hard as nails sometimes but I just wonder if she didn't have her moment of truth. I can't help it, I feel bad for her as a Mom. I'm not defending anything she did or didn't do. Just feeling some pain for her as a Mom.
