Oh Nurmi--her family already thought that she could have killed Travis. If she had just taken gpa's gun when she left they would have had no doubt. Same with MM.

She couldn' just borrow a gun because then she'd have to return it and they'd match the bullet to the gun. If she had just thrown it away, her grandparents would've known a gun was missing. JM is so going to repeat this to the jurors.

It is almost as if he is restating the state's case. I have a feeling that maybe even subconsciously he is trying to get her convicted, too.
Really, if he wanted off anyway what does he have to lose by throwing the game. He knows his career is in the toilet for representing JA and this may actually make him look better.
