He probably got out early because he informed LE of Aarone's true fate. I wonder if he's testifying at the grand jury?

I hope that he knows more about it then we do. Shelley told him a field. Maybe he knows what area the field is in. I hope he knows something that will really help. This case needs to be solved.

Thanks for the info ;)

Missing Aarone Thompson’s grandmother and grandfather today testified before a grand jury investigating the young girl’s presumed death.

Jesse and Earia Cloman told their accounts to members of the Arapahoe County grand jury, impaneled in May following an Aurora police investigation.

Prior to his testimony, Jesse Cloman questioned whether such a group of citizens could make an unbiased decision, given local and national media coverage that focused for weeks on what could have happened to the girl.

The girl’s father, Aaron Thompson, reported on Nov. 14 that she had run away from the family’s East Kepner Place home, but police announced three days later they had information leading them to believe she had been dead for up to 18 months.

A body has not been found, but police have said they had enough information — including 470 pieces of evidence and interviews with 450 people — to pursue charges. Instead of a direct filing of charges by prosecutors, the government decided to bring the case to grand jurors, who have more subpoena power.

I don't have any doubt that they will indite him. I just want this to hurry up and go to trial. I wish he would just say what they did with that poor little girl. You can bet that Shelli is burning in hell about now...IMO. She should have fessed up when she had a chance and made things right with her maker IMO. I wish the older kids would talk now. They don't owe that lousy father anything...they aren't even related to him. That teenager knows a lot would be my guess. I wonder if he will have to talk in front of the Grand Jury?

Police have interviewed more than 450 witnesses in six states.

They have traveled to the Caribbean island nation of Haiti in search of answers.

They have gathered more than 470 pieces of evidence.

But one year after the reported disappearance of 6-year-old Aaroné Thompson, the little girl has not been found. And there have been no arrests.

Although Aurora police classify it as a homicide, others believe that Aaroné may be alive somewhere.

Either way, Denver criminal defense attorney Larry Pozner said the uncertainty complicates an already difficult case.

"One of the problems in this case isn't who done it, but what was done?" he said. "This is layers of mystery."

An Arapahoe County grand jury is hearing the case of the girl who, if she were alive, would turn 8 Nov. 30. Few details have emerged from the closed-door proceedings - a marked contrast with the frequent headlines and intense emotions generated when she was reported missing.

Thanks so much for the update. I've been following this case for months and find it so frustrating. I hope this hearing will give some clue as to where little Aarone is.

I wonder how long this grand jury has been going. I also wonder how much longer it will go. Darn I hope they find this guy should be turned over for trial.

What I notice about the "time-progressed" photo of little Aaroné Thompson, still missing, still a mystery, is that the artist pulled her hair back from her face in a high, tight ponytail or bun, but allowed wisps of hair to escape above her ears.

Those strands of hair made me think the person sitting at the computer working on Aaroné's picture that day must have been a parent. That at some point this mother or father imagined someone who loved Aaroné sitting her down on a stool and brushing her hair back with a wet comb, Aaroné squirming, ow, that's too tight. Which is what my daughter does any time I attempt such a hairstyle on her.

In reality, it's a faithful adaptation of the only known photo of Aaroné as a little girl, the picture most of us remember if only because it was so old and blurry it was not only nearly useless, but suspicious.

This columnist did an insightful and well-written article on Aarone. Very touching.

I think the writer did an exceptional job with that story. I did not know or forgot that the girlfriend died. Unfortunately I doubt this one will ever be resolved 100%.

I was thinking about this case yesterday, wondering if the grand jury was finished yet. I hope there is justice for this little girl.

The father of missing Aarone Thomopson has moved out of what was the family's home in Aurora.

Aarone was reported missing more than a year ago, however, police believe she died months before being reported missing.

The girl's father, Aaron Thompson, continued to live in the house until this week.

I wonder where he moved to ? I hope it wasn't my neighborhood.

I forgot that the girlfriend had died, too. She was only 33 or something like that and died of a heart attack!!
Wow...

I don't think this case will ever be resolved either, and it's sad. I do believe that she was dead a long, long time before she was reported missing, though.
And that is even MORE sad. :(

The grand jury investigating the Aarone Thompson case will be extended for six months, the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.

A judge granted the request from the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office.

The grand jury has been investigating her disappearance and interviewing witnesses since last summer.

This is a good thing. It means they are still lookng for justice for Aarone.Keep trying until she receives it. Bless her soul.

Two churches connected with a Denver pastor who counseled Aarone Thompson's family were poised to collect $90,000 from Shely Lowe's life insurance policy, according to documents obtained by Denver's 7 and reviewed by the Rocky Mountain News.

Rev. Acen Phillips co-signed the $100,000 policy on Lowe as a witness. Lowe signed as the "insured" on the policy, dated Nov. 27, 2005.

She died of heart disease May 12, 2006, at age 33. The final $10,000 of the policy was set to go to Lowe's boyfriend, Aaron Thompson.

Thompson reported his daughter Aarone missing Nov. 14, 2005. She would be 8 if she were still alive.

I think it is really strange that someone would take out an insurance policy and the money would go to two churches with $10,000 going to the boyfriend. I wonder how that came about? I wonder if she knew that her heart problem could cause an early death? You would think that she would have left the money to her kids in a trust so that they would be taken care of in case something happened to her. Very odd.

A church run by the Rev. Acen Phillips appears to be connected with about $60 million worth of life insurance policies on 608 people, according to a document obtained by Denver's 7 and reviewed Thursday by the Rocky.

Also Thursday, the Colorado attorney general's office confirmed that it is investigating the case of a life insurance policy connected to Phillips and Shely Lowe, a one-time "person of interest" in the case of the missing Aurora girl Aarone Thompson. Lowe died last May.

"Shely is the tip of a very ugly iceberg," said Sam Riddle, who has acted as a spokesman for the Thompson family.

Phillips declined Thursday to elaborate on the questions that have arisen regarding his insurance dealings. But he said, "All this stuff is totally incorrect."

Phillips previously told Denver's 7 that "when you hear the real story, it'll look real good."

Asked to elaborate Thursday, Phillips said, "If I do that (now), I'll blow the whole story."

If you ask me, sounds like the pastor was backing Aaron and Shelys' side of the story in exchange for $$$$. I think all of that blood money should go into trust for the children. But that's just my :twocents: ...

Something is out of whack here............

  What exactly does he mean by saying he would "blow the whole story"??? Someone needs to make him talk. This isn't a game and it's not fiction. What a jerk!

I have a huge problem with the Rev. Phillips in this case. Now, it appears he received some sort of compensation? Something is wrong here...He knows what happened. I think he really does.
