Deceased/Not Found CO - Aarone Thompson, 4, Aurora, 2003 *A. Thompson guilty*

I've read the indictment and summarized most of it on Aarone's Charley Project page here: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/t/thompson_aarone.html if you don't want to read the whole 60-page document.

It's quite horrifying. It's the Peter Kema case all over again. I halfway wish I could bring Shely Lowe back to life and kill her again. At least Aaron's facing charges.

I cannot understand for the life of me why it has taken this long to force this "father" to appear in court. Shelley Lowe got off way too easy IMO ... I hope she is paying for her crimes elsewhere

Thompson Indictment Details Alleged Abuse, Lies

CENTENNIAL, Colo (CBS4) ― A publicly released indictment details allegations of lies, child abuse and death against Aaron Thompson and his deceased girlfriend Shely Lowe. The couple is accused of child abuse resulting in death in the case of Thompson's daughter, Aarone.

The grand jury indictment said Aarone died because she was undernourished, suffered cruel punishment and was denied medical care. The court documents were released Wednesday morning after the Colorado Supreme Court refused to rehear the case for keeping the indictment sealed.

The indictment recounts stories about Aarone's disappearance from the couple's other children, friends, neighbors and even ex-boyfriends.

I wonder if they will ever find the field where the friend says she is buried. I wish she could have a proper resting place because clearly she didn't have a proper place to live.

Court documents unsealed this week portray the Aurora home where little Aarone Thompson spent the last days of her life as a veritable torture chamber.

The eight children who lived with Shelley Lowe and Aaron Thompson were routinely and severely beaten with a broomstick, belt, baseball bat and television cords for things like thumb sucking, making bad grades or drawing on the wall, according to the indictment.

These children were bruised, scarred and terrified. Yet, the allegations suggest the torture went on for years, apparently uninterrupted by authorities.

How does this happen? How does an entire extended family of children suffer half-hour-long beatings, leaving them swollen and marked, and no one intervenes?

How does a child drop off the face of the earth and no one notices her missing until the grownups who are supposed to protect her call police with what authorities say is a bogus runaway story?

This is outrageous :furious: Aaron Thompson should be locked up for the rest of his life for this! He's nothing short of a hideous monster. I'm sure a Denver jury won't put up with this.

Sadly a Denver jury won't be involved ... Arapahoe County has the juristiction in this case. Personally I feel it is just outrageous that Thompson has never been forced to appear in court and I wonder if the media had not fought for the court records if this whole case would have been long forgotten and swept under the rug.

I cannot even begin to work out in my own mind how not one person could even see what the children in that household were being forced to endure. If anyone in the school/neighborhood/family did know what was happening and did not report it I think they should all be brought up on charges as well ...

How heartbreaking. Poor children, poor Aarone.:(

Thanks for the correction Greywing. I meant to say the 7 county Denver metro area. I'm sure Arapahoe County citizens are just as appalled.

An Aurora man charged with fatal child abuse will be tried in November, exactly three years after his daughter's reported disappearance, the judge ruled Wednesday.

Aaron Thompson was scheduled to enter his plea on Wednesday, but the date of his arraignment was pushed back until June 25 to give court officials more time to schedule his trial.

For crying out loud! I can't understand why they need more time to schedule .... they've had over 2 1/2 years. I'm beginning to think that court officials are reluctant to take this to trial. They had plenty of times to get their ducks in a row before they charged him :furious:

I look at that monster and think how easy it would be for him to snuff the life out of a little tiny girl. He is a huge man...scary looking too. Of course he is going to plead not guilty. That was no surprise. Since when does it take 3 years to find a space on the court calendar for a trial for the sake of a murdered little girl? Well, for any victim. I hope that the Pros has all of his/her ducks in a row cause this monster needs to be put behind bars for the rest of his life with no chance to ever get those other kids and continue to ruin their lives.

Court hearings are scheduled this week for an Arapahoe County man accused in the disappearance of his young daughter.

Motions hearings are set to begin Tuesday for Aaron Thompson in Centennial.

~snip~

The 60-count indictment against Thompson describes a violent home where Aarone and seven other children were allegedly beaten with a baseball bat, belts, cords, a broomstick or a magazine.

The indictment alleges that Aarone wasn't given medical care. Court documents also allege that Aarone was buried in a field.

I am so happy that this case is finally headed to trial. Another case of a parent who reported their child missing because they ran out of time and needed to explain why they were no longer there. On the right side and at the bottom of the page are alot of past articles, videos, timeline, supporting documents and a who's who.

Taken from the link posted above:

"Thompson faces up to 54 years in prison if convicted of all counts."

That's all that 60 felony charges (including murder) add up to? A measely 54 years? :furious:

In the most chilling moment of the prosecution's opening arguments in the case against Aaron Thompson, jurors heard a tape recording of the defendant's live-in girlfriend telling a friend that Aaroné Thompson was "sacrificed." ...

...The friend, Tabitha Graves, told police Lowe told her in the summer of 2004 that Aaroné had died.

"One was sacrificed, but there are seven more, eight more than you can save," Lowe is heard on the tape saying, referring to the eight other children from her and Thompson's house who were placed in foster care during the investigation. "Don't forget about the rest of them and their fate. You can't go back in time." ...

...The trial is expected to last several weeks...

bombshell occurred Friday during the opening statements in a trial of a man accused of killing his daughter.

All along Aaron Thompson said he been looking for Aarone Thompson, his 6-year-old daughter whom he reported missing in November 2005.

But on Friday, his defense attorneys admitted he was lying. They admitted that Aarone is dead, and Thompson covered up her death, but they claim he didn't kill her.
