Found Safe CO - Amanda Edinger, 46, kidnapped by Joseph Beecher, 48, Rio Blanco Co, 2 Feb 2022 *Arrest*

Rio Blanco County Communications Center received a 911 approximately 12:30pm of a truck that had trespassed off of Rio Blanco County Road 17.

Upon Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office deputies arriving on scene it was further discovered that the driver of the trespassed truck had left on foot, at this time there was also a 46 year old female Amanda Edinger reported as endangered missing.

Suspect and victim was seen leaving the area in a 2016 maroon Ford F150 approximately 12:00pm. Suspect is believed to be 48 year old Joseph Beecher.

The male suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous. Subjects are last believed to have been in the Golden, CO area at approximately 3:30PM. We believe the suspect and victim are out of the area, if you see them please do not approach and call 911.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are assisting Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office in the search.

Woman believed to be kidnapped from western Colorado


Edinger is described as a white woman, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Beecher is described as a white man, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

They are believed to be traveling in a maroon 2016 Ford F150 with a color-matching camper shell and Colorado license plate number AIA 728.

The Rio Blanco County Sheriff's Office said around 12:30 p.m., they got a 911 call about a truck that trespassed on a property off Rio Blanco County Road 17. When deputies arrived, they learned the suspected driver had left on foot, and Edinger had gone missing.

Investigators said Beecher is believed to be armed and dangerous.

At about 5:55 p.m. the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) asked for help with locating Amanda Edinger. Investigators believe she may have been kidnapped by Joseph Beecher, who is considered armed and dangerous. They may be travelling in a maroon Ford F-150 with Colorado license plate AIA-728 with a camper shell.

The alert was issued out of Rio Blanco County. The CBI is reporting Edinger was likely taken by the suspect at about 11 in the morning. Edinger was last seen Wednesday at about 3:30 p.m., possibly in the area of Golden.

Update on Rio Blanco Kidnapping
(Rio Blanco County, CO, February 3, 2022)—A Meeker woman is safe after allegedly being kidnapped at
gunpoint from the ranch where she worked at in Rio Blanco County on February 2, 2022. She was
located by law enforcement in a Cheyenne hotel in the early morning hours of February 3, 2022.
The allegations are Amanda Edinger was contacted by suspect Joseph Beecher (DOB: 02/12/2973) of
Craig, Colorado at the Bloomberg Ranch where Edinger works as a member of the staff, in the morning hours of Wednesday, February 2, 2022. It’s alleged that after kidnapping her at gunpoint, Beecher forced Edinger to leave the property in her vehicle (2016 Maroon Ford F150 truck) just before noon.

It was learned Beecher allegedly took Edinger to the Denver metro area for several stops, then onto
Wyoming later in the evening. Investigative work by local, state and federal authorities determined
Beecher had Edinger in the Stagecoach Motel (1515 W. Lincoln) in Cheyenne. Members of the Cheyenne
Police Department’s SWAT Team arrested Beecher without incident at the hotel. The Cheyenne Police
Department will release details about the arrest.

Edinger has since been reunited with her family.
Beecher was taken to the Laramie County jail in Wyoming, and faces multiple state charges including
kidnapping, felony menacing and others, along with charges out of Wyoming. He is being held without
bail. Beecher’s mugshot will be released as soon as it’s available.

Beecher was in possession of multiple firearms at the time of his arrest.

The circumstances of why Beecher traveled to the ranch are under investigation. Edinger has no
connection to the suspect, as they are unknown to one another.

This is an extremely fluid investigation. Additional details outside of this news release are not available
