GUILTY CO - Angela Craig, 43, mother of 6, allegedly poisoned by cyanide in protein shake by dentist husband, Aurora, Mar 2023 @2

As former LDS - if he had asked for a divorce, there is about a zero percent chance she wouldn't immediately schedule a meeting with her bishop. The whole church doctrine revolves around the sanctification and preservation of the nuclear family. And the bishop is the third party in the marriage when there is difficulty and conflict. Everything is laid before him, whether he's a therapist or bricklayer by trade for his paying job.

JC's addiction is mentioned by AC.
How does the church deal with the P-addiction besides cheating on your wife?
Am I remembering correctly that that specific addiction is right up there with murder according to the Mormon Church?

"Craig’s home life was also a disaster. According to Angela’s sister, Toni Kofoed, he was addicted to 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and had cheated on his wife multiple times. She’d repeatedly debated leaving him, but Craig always begged her back."

It is so hard to follow a trial when it hasn’t been made public to view and you have to rely on those reporting. So much has been made of Craig being in debt filing for bankruptcies at least two times. According to Lauren’s update from yesterday, the defense brought up that they owned their million dollar home outright, had no credit card debt…..but did have some sort of an IRS lien that was not allowed to be discussed? She also said that both James and Angela had equal amounts of life insurance on each.

This looks like a live link for closings that are about to start soon….

As far as insurance goes, when there is a stay-at-home parent who is primary caretaker of the children, it is critical to insure the wage earning parent for what his wages would have been if they die before the children reach 18 (or even 22 if the children are destined for college). And, in the case of the stay-at-home parent, who usually has a much lesser ability to get a good job in the case of their spouse's death. So from that point of view, the fact that Angela carried an equal amount of life insurance as BC is suspect in my opinion.

I watched Lauren's (Hidden True Crime) recap of Day 11. I find it totally bizarre that an attorney is putting forth a defense that LE should have investigated BC's claim that he was JUST! honoring his depressed spouse's desire to commit suicide after he had done his best to make her life not worth living. As far as chutzpah goes, this is equivalent to throwing oneself onto the mercy of the court as an orphan after killing one's parents. (IMO)

Thanks for posting this link. I'm following from out of the US. Do you happen to know what time court is meant to start for the closing arguments?
9am Denver (MDT) time which is ten minutes ago as I write this.

ETA: Looks like the link is live and counting down to 9:30 am MDT.

'The truth doesn't change': Prosecution said James narratives change

Madeline Rhodes
The prosecution began by saying Angela is innocent and had no part in her death, and the only person who is saying she did is James.

Prosecution also said James has had three false narratives around Angela’s death. They argued that James said Angela committed suicide intentionally, then he reportedly said he was helping Angela commit suicide, then he said Angela set him up, and took it too far.

“The truth doesn’t change, James Craig isn’t telling the truth,” the prosecution said.

The prosecution said the only common theme was that he wanted out of his marriage, and Angela couldn’t accept it. Prosecution said people would have to believe all of Angela’s actions were a facade, including her efforts to figure out why she was sick.

I wonder if the judge called an audible? Decided against streaming closing arguments? I hope they're being recorded, to be released later perhaps.

I hope the verdict is streamed.

'Marriages only end in two ways, death or divorce'

Madeline Rhodes
Prosecution argued that James’ motive was that he wanted a divorce.

The trial revealed several affairs James had, and Angela found out. Prosecution said James is tired of the cycle of having an affair, then Angela finds out, then he keeps digging himself a hole.

Prosecution said this is a motive because while he allegedly wanted out of the marriage, he didn’t want a divorce because of money and his public image.

What????? He didn't want 'out' in the sense of a DIVORCE like normal people get. His motive IMO was MONEY. Divorce would have cost MONEY.

This way she's gone, he gets money, and he gets to carry on with his lying, cheating ways.

Eager to see the jury to put a hard stop to that.

He didn't want to divorce. He wanted to keep cheating. As he had always done. Even with multiple mistresses at the same time. IMO AC was reaching HER threshold. So he killed her before she could divorce him.
