Suzanne's family has talked. And I guess Iris is out.

"Federal, state and local law enforcement have never stopped working toward justice for Suzanne,” said Twelfth Judicial District Attorney Anne Kelly in the release. "The Twelfth Judicial District Attorney’s Office stands in solidarity with Suzanne’s family and the citizens of Chaffee and Saguache counties in pursuing the grand jury’s indictment."

Suzanne Morphew’s family had hoped that 2025 would bring an arrest in the murder case, which seemed doomed when it was dismissed in April 2023.

"I've been patient with the investigation and I have great confidence in Anne Kelly and the rest of the prosecutorial team," said Suzanne's sister, Melinda Moorman Balzer.

Balzer said Kelly called the family and informed them of the arrest before sending the news release.

Morphew's attorney, David Beller of Recht Kornfeld, told The Denver Gazette his client maintains his innocence.

Barry's phone was turned off at 4:32am on may 10th and not turned on again until 5:37am and he was near Johnson Village, Co. That is 1 hour and 5 minutes and the time to drive from his house to Johnson Village is roughly 30-32 minutes. So he had around 30 minutes he could have deviated from the path. I recall from the first AA, this is the time he went left and tossed the bike helmet and turned around so it's possible he also dumped her somewhere then also. I don't recall how long it would take to go left and turn around, but if he didn't dump her at that point, he could have went off his driving route somewhere else between turning around and hitting Johnson Village area.

Maybe Suzanne's daughters attending the press conference means they feel safe now that he's been arrested. JMO
I hope so. I'm hoping they can heal from this and come to terms with what Barry did to their mother. Im so glad there will be justice for Suzanne. Jmvho

Expected to be there:

"In the release, the district attorney's office announced that Barry Morphew had been taken into custody on June 20 in Arizona, and the 12th Judicial District Attorney's Office is exercising an extradition order to get Morphew back to Colorado. The 12th Judicial District Attorney's Office will be hosting a press conference Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. in Alamosa. Barry and Suzanne's daughters are expected at the press conference, and News5 will be in attendance. We will be streaming the conference in this article below at 6:00 p.m."

May they have the courage to stand beside the Prosecution.

May Suzanne finally have her voice.

JMO

It feels so good BM (his initials "from before" now he's changed his name AND the other kind, IMO) will finally be held to account and punished for his evil deeds and depravity, and justice for Suzanne is finally coming.

That it took 5 years and change to get here is no nevermind, although a very twisted and painful road to justice for her, as long as her murderer is brought to justice and like I said, is Punished, With A Capital P. Is it too early to talk about him getting the DP?

Celebrating and soooo relieved he's in custody again and for the last time, IMO!!! It puts a bunch of !!!!! on today being the longest day of the year and the beginning of Summer, here comes the nicest season of these 5 long years, RIP now Suzanne.

Couple things here. He was arrested in Arizona, yet somehow, he already has a Colorado based attorney. He's expected to be transported to Colorado next week.

Morphew's attorney, David Beller of Recht Kornfeld, told The Denver Gazette his client maintains his innocence.

"Yet again, the government allows their pre-determined conclusion to lead their search for evidence," Beller said. "Barry maintains his innocence. The case has not changed and the outcome will not either."

Morphew will appear in court in Arizona and be given the option of waiving the extradition to Colorado or contesting it, he said.

"Under the circumstances, he's expected to waive," Beller said. "We will then be at the mercy of the Colorado officials to transport him back to Colorado — presumably some time next week."

BBM:

Sure, Dave! Case hasn't changed one iota.

Aside from Suzanne's remains being found, analyzed, and the presence of prescription-only BAM being detected in her bones.

BAM which your client was known to have purchased.

BAM which only he was in possession of in that entire surrounding area of CO.

BAM which only he had motive to use on Suzanne.

But aside from all that, yes, Dave, we agree.

Nothing has changed.

I'm really curious if his "girlfriend" will be charged with anything. She was all in when disposing of Suzanne's belongings and wearing her jewelry.

So we will get to see recordings of the proceeding-am I reading this correctly?
Looks like it! According to Page 2 Item 3

Another thought, it takes a real sicko to MOVE a body. I knew he was sick and twisted already because of what he had done and tried to hide. I could see it being a heat of the moment thing if he found out she was talking to the guy, but going back later to move her body is really twisted.
Injecting her with BAM doesn’t seem like a heat of the moment thing. And I had the same thought about him moving her body, especially since decomposition would already have taken place. Thank goodness he’s behind bars, but I wish they would have set a higher bond.
