Break down Suzanne’s body being moved, what are your thoughts on that?
The body was initially hidden in a location where it had gone a long period of time without being found. It was moved to a location that would greatly increase the likelihood of it being found. So I've got to believe he wanted it found, and the biking clothes were very important.

Why? Perhaps a few reasons:

Biking clothes would go a long way to ensuring he was never arrested again.
It would also help in his lawsuit, as it would be very exculpatory in his eyes.
Suzanne being officially declared dead may have helped him somehow financially.

When did he do this? I've got to believe it was at some point after his initial case was dropped, as he was totally under the microscope prior to his first arrest.

So maybe just before he left he state for good.

That swimsuit was hung up in the closet. Only a woman would do that, one who had worn it only briefly.

Redressed for biking...

So they clothes had to go.

Maybe her biking jacket and sweatshirt were in her car.....

Shocking that he hung on to a T and shorts and the sweatshirt for Moffat.

But who knows what he was thinking.

His brain probably looks like his garage.

Ahhh, okay! I was getting a lil confused with your posts, but I absolutely get you now.

We need to think about TWO sets of biking clothes.

The ACTUAL set she likely had on when he shot her with BAM.

And the RANDOM 🤬🤬🤬 ASSORTMENT of ‘biking clothes’ found with the skeleton that showed they’d been nowhere near the decomposing body.

Maybe whatever he used to break down the flesh on her body - maybe he just dumped that straight onto her and the actual biking outfit.

I wonder if the port showed signs of being used (biological matter that matches her or traces of the cancer drug she was taking). I wouldn’t put it past him to have gathered a spare one to dump in with her for more proof. (I know ports are generally changed in a medical setting but when my son had one we also had emergency sets at home that doctors gave us).

The indictment says:

"The majority of her bones were recovered. Many of her bones were significantly bleached."

Bleached could be sun and exposure, or chemical. I suppose we'll learn more during trial.
Yes, that's exactly what I think it means too.

I'm not convinced that she was going for a bike ride. Barry said she was going biking. Barry told the neighbour to check the garage for her bike. Her bike and helmet were found off her biking trail near her house. Although she enjoyed biking, everything points to Barry concocting the scenario that she was abducted while biking.

Suzanne's last electronic activity was at 2:11 and 3:08 P.M. on May 9, 2020. Barry said that she was going biking on May 10, but she was most likely already dead.

It seems more likely that Barry had an entire scenario figured out where she would go biking, she was abducted, and her body - along with biking clothing - would be discovered later an hour away from the house.

Do not let me set this thread back to "went missing on a bike ride on Mother's Day"!!!

I'm talking about Saturday, May 9th. Beautiful day in Salida. I believe Suzanne would have gone on her afternoon bike ride on Saturday, at a trail she would drive to.

I think she knew JL was off with his kids, Barry was away, the girls were away, so she changed out of her bikini into riding clothes... and Barry maybe even knew that routine which is why he asked if she'd already left.

Neither here nor there. The murder was horrific, the aftermath was horrific and his thought process, the same.

I can't get past the chirpy cheerleader reading the extradition order to him. She sounds like she's leading a pep rally.

"Good evening! Welcome to Maricopa County Jail, Mr. Morphew! Do you know why we're here today? Looks like Colorado wants you back for charges related to...let's see here...murder!"

In comparison, Barry sounds rather subdued. Resigned, even.

Welcome to the rest of your miserable existence.

OY ! !
AGAIN !
HANDS !
ALWAYS IN THE POCKETS !

😖

... regretting I don't have the skill to refresh my post years ago relating to what this small boy behavior commonly signals.

@MassGuy Thanks for link & your analysis, but is another explanation possible?

Def' Closing Argument:
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, a mountain lion (previously roaming in an urban area and captured by CO. Parks & Wildlife for rehoming into the wild) broke into the dept's locked drug storage next to its enclosure, and absconded w syringe of BAM. The mountain lion then escaped then found & pedalled a bicycle along US 50 to the Puma Path home. In BM's absence, the mountain lion injected SM w BAM, causing her death.

Clear as day to me. Or something similarly plausible. /s
Hahahaha 😂. Maybe he’s considering it . . .

So what is the possible 3.08 activity? It wouldn’t be WhatsApp because that’s an app and you don’t need a password. Possibly LinkedIn messaging if she accessed via the site and signed out everytime she used it. Even so, I would imagine that passwords would be stored on the phone. Or was the electronic activity on a laptop?

Good article on DA Anne Kelly:

ALAMOSA — When Governor Jared Polis appointed Anne Kelly as the District Attorney for the 12th Judicial District in August of 2022, the office of the San Luis Valley’s top cop was like a forgotten outpost in desperate need of reinforcements. Kelly was elected to the position in November 2022.

The DA’s office had just a handful of employees — no attorneys — and a backlog of 300 cases. Law enforcement agencies were dispirited by an ineffective former DA. Victims felt betrayed by a judicial system that was broken.

But from the first moment DA Kelly stepped up to the podium, her message was clear: help was on the scene and change was on the horizon.

Someone refresh my memory:

Barry claimed Suzanne had planned a bike ride that morning?, but didn't someone (that knew Suzanne - daughter's boyfriend? Barry's co-worker at the volunteer fire department?) contradict that by saying she never rode in the morning, only in the afternoon?
I don’t remember if bf mentioned the time of day, but he knew a lot about her biking habits. He said she would never hop on the bike at the house and set off for a ride. She would put her bike in the Range Rover and drive to a trailhead and park it.

Ticks all the boxes, thanks!!

I can’t help thinking back to what LS said about needing more time to search for Suzanne’s body. They had to wait for the snow to melt. So they had a particular area in mind. Remember that? Investigators suspected he put her somewhere close, just couldn’t prove it.

Listening to him waive extradition late last night -- I was wondering the same!

If he does, then he will claim self defense, he didn’t want to make her look bad by sharing “the truth” that when he came home and she had both guns (remember they found a live 22 bullet) intending to kill him, he tried to reason with her to no avail, in an effort to save them both and protect their daughters he tried to disarm her, they wrestled and we know the rest of the story.

Thanks for this, now I get it.

I’m so curious about his new persona/lifestyle. Was he living out some biker dude fantasy? Did he even own/ride a motorcycle?

I’m so thrilled he was finally arrested again. I immediately did a fist pump in the air while yelling “Yes! Yes! Yes!!!” May justice be swift for Suzanne and her loved ones.

You know, I don't know if he owned a bike. I saw him in pictures from bike week (a HUGE, HUGE thing here - people come from all over the country!) one year, but tons of people hang out that don't have one either.

He pretty much was hitting on people at the local places (some are truly biker bars, some a little more restaurant/bar-esque and not quite as...I don't know, trying not to denigrate the feel of some of the places he hung at!) and just drinking a lot.

If you look up Harold's Corral there was a recent story about (it's about 90 years old now!). It's not the ones his buddy owned, but it's the one he frequented most.

My partner doesn't even work anywhere near Cave Creek and when he mentioned Cave Creek at work, everyone started talking about Harold's and asking if he knew that there was a guy who hung out there all the time who killed his wife, and how everyone talks about it all the time and bartenders warn women because he's always hitting on them.

That shows he owned a mobile home, not that he owned the mobile home park where it was parked. I imagine that's how Daily Mail got the idea he owned the whole park, though. I think it's actually an RV that was parked on a rented spot in that mobile home park.

There appear to be three or four bars quite close by. Interesting that at least one is a "biker bar." I have to wonder about Barry's income stream.

Of interest: the address he gave the assessor for the location of the RV is a gas station near the park. The billing address is back in Indiana. It's not the old family home, but a decent looking house not far from where they used to live.

Yeah, I posted pictures from the gas station (Circle K) in one of my posts last night where you can see the trailer park behind it.

Horny Toad and Harold's Corral have been in Cave Creek for far longer than Barry has been alive (they're a little less biker-y than some) but Roadhouse and Hideaway and Buffalo Chip are definitely more biker-y.

I'm not convinced that she planned to go biking. Seems like a cold windy day for a bike ride ... 64 F, 20 mph winds gusting to 27 mph. I remember thinking at the time that a bike ride was surprising.

Hiding some biking clothing seems like part of the ruse that she was biking, and very useful when he wanted her body to be found and identified. Barry is the only source for a planned bike ride, and he immediately pointed investigators in the direction of a missing bike, missing bike helmet, and disappearance away from the house.

I keep thinking back to that grave like area found with bags of lime in KM’s old hunting club during the Jennifer Dulos case.
